Shaogong returns to the ruins of Penglai with the Jade Heng, reliving the harrowing memory of Xun Fang alone against the catastrophe. Moved to tears, he is determined to make Penglai reborn. In a city facing coastal threats, Yan Mei teases Xiang Ling, causing Lan Sheng's jealousy and repeated warnings. Lan Sheng, having matured significantly after Ru Qin was drugged by Shaogong, later finds Master Yao to widely distribute "hero invitations" to recruit people for Penglai.
This leads him to Yin Qian Shang, and they, along with Yan Mei, drink and discuss matters. Xiang Tianxiao and Yin Qian Shang also discuss going to sea. Yan Mei dismisses the possibility of Penglai still existing, but Xiang Ling and Lan Sheng confirm its ruins remain. Yan Mei then worries about the safety of the coast if Penglai were to reappear. Suddenly, an earthquake strikes, followed by a tsunami, causing widespread panic and flight.
Master Yao gives his token to Lan Sheng, hoping it will assist him. Lan Sheng, Yin Qian Shang, and Xiang Tianxiao split up: Xiang Tianxiao uses the token to evacuate the populace, while Yin Qian Shang leads the defense against the tsunami. They, along with Yan Mei and Xiang Ling, work together to set up a magic array, which successfully encloses the city within a safe zone.
However, due to Lan Sheng's exhaustion, the magic array fails, and seawater begins to flood in. Fortunately, Lingyue arrives with a team of Tianyong City disciples, preventing significant damage and alleviating the tsunami crisis. Lingyue later talks with Lan Sheng, pleased by the changes and maturity he observes in him. Lingyue and Yin Qian Shang agree to implement a tsunami warning system.
Lingyue then speaks with Lan Sheng alone about defending against the tsunami and confronting Shaogong, offering to join them. Lan Sheng explains his views, which amuses Lingyue, who decides to wait for Tu Su's return before further discussion. Meanwhile, Tu Su returns to Tianyong City to report Shaogong's evil actions to Reverend Zi Yin, requesting the removal of the internal qi seal.
Reverend Zi Yin had sealed Tu Su to prolong his life and was torn about whether to unseal him for a decisive battle against Shaogong. After Tu Su's earnest and heartfelt plea, Reverend Zi Yin, sighing, eventually agrees. Qing Xue, in a conversation with Hong Yu, expresses her firm resolve, stating that Youdu Granny believes there's a chance to rectify things if Shaogong is defeated.
Hong Yu reflects on Tu Su's difficult life, expressing her pride in his growth and her decision to live freely like him once everything settles. Reverend Zi Yin and the Headmaster jointly remove Tu Su's seal. Tu Su, living up to their expectations, successfully suppresses the internal qi within him. Reverend Zi Yin, with a smile in his eyes, hands the Sword of Burning Solitude to Tu Su.
Tu Su kneels tearfully before Reverend Zi Yin's door to bid him farewell, sincerely stating that he has always considered Reverend Zi Yin a father and hopes to repay his profound kindness in a future life. Hong Yu emerges from the side to comfort the red-eyed Tu Su. Tu Su, suppressing his sorrow, walks away. Reverend Zi Yin slowly steps out from within the door.
As Tu Su walks alone through Tianyong City, Reverend Zi Yin suddenly appears, blocking his path, and challenges him to a duel. Reverend Zi Yin declares that if Tu Su loses, he must remain in Tianyong City forever, and Reverend Zi Yin would exhaust his own cultivation to continue maintaining the Sword of Burning Solitude's seal. Tu Su, his mind resolute, bravely engages Reverend Zi Yin in combat. Their friendly duel is fierce and evenly matched.
During the fight, Tu Su not only proves his ability to control the internal qi but also absorbs the Sword of Burning Solitude's qi that had accumulated in Reverend Zi Yin for many years, healing Reverend Zi Yin of his long-standing injuries and securing Tu Su's victory. Reverend Zi Yin, now confident that Tu Su has grasped the essence of swordsmanship and has a clear goal, reluctantly waves his hand, allowing Tu Su to depart.
The Headmaster and Reverend Zi Yin later praise Tu Su. Reverend Zi Yin states that if Tu Su fails to resolve the Eastern Sea disaster, he will personally descend the mountain to clean up Tu Su's mess, offsetting Tu Su's past transgressions in Tianyong City. The Headmaster respects Reverend Zi Yin's seniority and expresses gratitude for his arrival 300 years ago, which led to Tianyong City's prosperity.
Reverend Zi Yin then proposes to resign from his position as Reverend Zi Yin in three years, once Lingyue inherits the Headmaster position. As the Headmaster hesitates, the ground shakes, and Reverend Zi Yin realizes it is related to the Penglai disaster. Back in the city, Lingyue and Fu Qu are conversing when Fu Qu spots a dejected Ling Duan scavenging for food. They approach to offer help, but Ling Duan, deeply resentful, rejects Lingyue's kindness.
Fu Qu, unable to bear it, reveals the truth behind Zhao Lin's death. Ling Duan is momentarily stunned and declares he will seek revenge on Shaogong. Fu Qu persuades him to prioritize his own safety. Lingyue picks up the silver coin Ling Duan had struck down and returns it to him, finally moving Ling Duan. Tu Su meets Qing Xue outside Tianyong City, and they then arrive in the city, witnessing the devastating aftermath of the tsunami.
This further strengthens Tu Su's resolve to defeat Shaogong. He quickly gathers the main group to discuss plans to defeat Shaogong. Yin Qian Shang analyzes that Shaogong, being an immortal spirit residing in a mortal body, cannot withstand immense power. He relies on the Jade Heng to store spiritual energy, making the Jade Heng the critical weak point. Lingyue and Fu Qu offer to join the effort to confront Shaogong, but Tu Su declines, stating he has his own method to deal with Shaogong.
