Upon returning to her room, Qingxue discovered snacks on the table and called out Heiyao, who was hiding. She playfully chided him, saying that eating his snacks always led to arguments with Tusuo. Heiyao declared his intention to always obey his "wife," as Hua Chang had advised him in life. Seeing Qingxue unhappy, Heiyao asked why she insisted on staying with Tusuo despite her unhappiness.

Qingxue confessed her desire to emulate Shaogong and Xun Fang, whom she considered a model couple, thus resolving to follow Tusuo regardless of her feelings. Meanwhile, Shaogong had informed Tusuo that Qingxue, being from Youdu, possessed knowledge of resurrection magic but had concealed it from him. Shaogong actively tried to sow distrust between Tusuo and Qingxue, attempting to make Tusuo completely disbelieve her. Qingxue, observing Shaogong's peculiar behavior, realized his ulterior motives.

Shaogong then feigned concern, advising Tusuo to consult Lingyue for a decision. Ultimately, Shaogong's words swayed Tusuo, leading him to disregard Qingxue's advice. Tusuo decided to make his own decisions regarding the matter and asked Qingxue not to interfere. Though Tusuo's stance saddened Qingxue, she cared deeply for him and resolved to stay by his side forever. Tusuo confided in Lingyue about his plan to go to Yaoshan.

Lingyue mentioned his own intention to investigate Lei Yan's associates at Qingyutan, wishing Tusuo and Qingxue a safe journey. Tusuo, however, stated that he and Qingxue had a disagreement and he intended to travel alone. Lingyue expressed his trust in Qingxue, while Tusuo mused that the more he understood after descending the mountain, the more troubles he encountered. Lingyue was pleased that Tusuo now had his own opinions, feeling that both he and Lansheng had grown up.

Tusuo directly commented on Lingyue's special treatment of Lansheng, to which Lingyue retorted that Lansheng had led Tusuo astray. Lansheng, overhearing Lingyue's words, immediately became displeased, asserting that Tusuo had become more human-like because of him. He then clung to Tusuo, insisting on accompanying him on the sea voyage to Yaoshan. Tusuo habitually refused Lansheng and left to pack his luggage, with Lingyue quickly slipping away too.

Lansheng, feeling dejected, returned to his room, where he found Xiangling engaged in needlework. Xiangling explained that Ruqin had taught her. Lansheng optimistically interpreted this as Ruqin accepting Xiangling and began to contemplate marrying her, but Xiangling revealed she was sewing clothes for Tusuo, causing Lansheng to pull a bitter face and lament the difficulties of being a man. Lansheng later sought out Shaogong for advice on how to please girls.

Shaogong's attitude was cold and rigid; he sternly reprimanded Lansheng for associating with a "demon." Angrily, Lansheng left, only to see Ruqin standing nearby, looking at Shaogong with an unusual gaze. Recalling past memories with Xun Fang, which were vivid in his mind, Shaogong couldn't help but shed tears. Ruqin approached him with concern, but Shaogong excused himself and departed. Ruqin then sought out Qingxue, asking what had transpired at the Imperial Tomb, as both sensed Shaogong's profound change.

Ruqin advised Qingxue not to worry about her disagreements with Tusuo, contrasting it with her own situation, where Shaogong held no place for her in his heart, let alone engaged in conflicts. Shaogong informed Tusuo that once Xun Fang recovered from her injuries, he would travel to Qingyutan to refine medicine. Tusuo warned Shaogong that Youdu would send people to retrieve the Jade Artifact from him.

Shaogong confidently declared his intention to utilize the disciples of Qingyutan, asserting that Youdu posed no threat. Tusuo bid farewell to Lingyue before departing for Yaoshan. Lingyue inquired if he had informed Qingxue, but Tusuo remained silent. At this moment, Huanhuan from Youdu arrived in the human realm, encountering Lingyue and greeting him. Lingyue cautioned Tusuo to be careful and then exchanged pleasantries with Huanhuan. Shortly after, two Youdu Elders arrived and recognized Tusuo, who was behind Lingyue.

Lingyue immediately engaged the two Elders in combat, covering Tusuo's escape. Qingxue happened to meet Tusuo, who urged her to return to Youdu and cease any involvement with him. Qingxue, however, declared her unwavering resolve to stay with Tusuo. Huanhuan soon found Qingxue, with the Elders in pursuit. Qingxue bravely covered Tusuo's escape, fighting the Elders without hesitation. When overwhelmed, she pulled Tusuo and fled, with Huanhuan bravely stepping forward to block the Elders.

Lansheng, carrying a satchel, caught up with Lingyue, reiterating his desire to accompany Tusuo to Yaoshan. Lingyue informed him that Tusuo had already departed half a day ago. Noticing the untouched steamed buns he had bought, Lansheng pulled Lingyue to sit down and offered them to him, only remembering Lingyue's aversion to meat when he saw Lingyue's discomfort. Lingyue stated he had other matters to attend to and prepared to leave.

Lansheng held him back, expressing his admiration for Lingyue's kindness towards Tusuo and lamenting Ruqin's strictness towards him. He confessed his wish for an older brother to protect him, and after some roundabout discussion, Lansheng revealed his true purpose: to ask Lingyue to teach him magic. Lingyue, unable to resist Lansheng's charm, agreed. Tusuo and Qingxue successfully eluded the Elders' pursuit. Qingxue was injured and her internal energy was unstable.

Tusuo again urged her to return to Youdu, but Qingxue steadfastly refused, insisting on following him. Tusuo made inquiries about the whereabouts of Yaoshan, deliberately acting heartless and ignoring Qingxue behind him. Qingxue eventually fainted to the ground. Tusuo turned back, but not seeing Qingxue, he assumed she had left and continued his journey. Soon after, Heiyao appeared and found the unconscious Qingxue. Tusuo arrived at the 58 Tongcheng Blacksmith Shop and asked Master Yao for directions to Yaoshan.

Master Yao, seeing Tusuo's reluctance to disclose his purpose for going to Yaoshan, dismissed him. Tusuo pleaded, prompting Master Yao to demand a treasure in exchange for the information. Meanwhile, Heiyao carried Qingxue back to an inn. Hearing Qingxue call out Tusuo's name in her sleep, Heiyao couldn't help but feel jealous, grumbling incessantly. Just as he was about to leave to find a doctor for Qingxue, Tusuo entered the inn and checked into the room opposite.

Heiyao quickly closed his door. That night, Tusuo sat in his room, feeling melancholic and thinking of Qingxue. He conversed with Ah Xiang, but he couldn't shake the feeling that Qingxue was nearby.
