The Editor-in-Chief announced that the next issue's cover feature would be INSO's President Ying Hui, a significant opportunity for the magazine. She assigned the interview to Zhao Mosheng, though Mosheng suggested Lu Yuanfeng handle the photography. The Editor-in-Chief agreed to Yuanfeng taking the pictures but instructed Mosheng to inform and supervise him. Tao Yijing and Lu Yuanfeng visited Ying Hui’s office.

Ying Hui surprised them by revealing his extensive knowledge of their magazine, specifically mentioning that Miss Zhao Mosheng was their portrait photographer. Despite Tao Yijing’s attempts to promote Lu Yuanfeng, Ying Hui candidly stated he agreed to the interview solely because he greatly admired Mosheng, even considering himself a fan. He insisted that only Mosheng could take the interview photos, expressing his willingness to cooperate with her at any time.

Yuanfeng mentioned that he and Mosheng were good friends, and Ying Hui expressed interest in having dinner with them sometime. Back at the office, the Editor-in-Chief immediately called Mosheng, relaying Ying Hui’s condition. Colleagues were baffled and curious, speculating why the influential INSO president would first grant an interview and then specifically demand Mosheng as the photographer. Some directly asked if Ying Hui was pursuing Mosheng, who quickly denied it, clarifying they were "just friends" from her time in America.

Mosheng arrived at Ying Hui's company. He noted her delayed appearance, asking why she hadn't come for the initial interview. Mosheng attributed it to a conflict with other work, to which Ying Hui wryly suggested he wasn't important enough for her to set aside her current tasks. Mosheng thanked him for his help the previous day. Ying Hui then revealed that his return to China wasn't primarily for business expansion, as widely believed, but to find his "lost lover."

Misinterpreting his words, Mosheng mentioned hearing that his former girlfriend had married. Ying Hui confirmed he knew, then hinted that he wouldn't mind if his "lover" was married, as he believed he could offer her "greater happiness." He then inquired about Mosheng's relationship with He Yichen, and she disclosed that they had recently married. Ying Hui congratulated her, and they proceeded with the photoshoot.

Mosheng politely declined Ying Hui’s offer of a car, stating she needed to leave quickly to avoid rush hour. Later, Ying Hui’s assistant informed him about a college reunion invitation, which he asked to be forwarded to his email. Meanwhile, Ying Hui's assistant visited He Yichen’s law firm, offering top-tier prices for a potential collaboration. Yichen, however, remained composed, stating they would follow standard procedures and respond in a week.

Lao Yuan and Xiang Heng were astonished by Yichen's calm demeanor regarding such a lucrative opportunity, speculating that his personal feelings might be involved. Yichen insisted that any decision would be based purely on procedural research and firm interests, seeing no reason to turn down money. Yimei learned from Lu Yuanfeng about Ying Hui's insistence on Mosheng as his photographer. She found it strange, questioning why Ying Hui would approach Mosheng through the magazine if they were already friends.

Yuanfeng dismissed her concerns as an "occupational disease" of media professionals. He then tried to set up a dinner for the four of them, to which Yimei agreed. At the law firm, a client named Ms. Yuan specifically requested He Yichen as her lawyer. Lao Yuan explained that Yichen was booked for at least four months. When Ms. Yuan became impatient, Lao Yuan jokingly mentioned that Yichen had just gotten married and might be taking a honeymoon.

Upon hearing this, Ms. Yuan immediately changed her mind, stating she no longer wanted Yichen and instead chose Xiang Heng. Lao Yuan lamented that even lawyers now needed good looks. Yichen, unfazed, attributed Xiang Heng's appeal to his legal performance rather than his looks. In a meeting, He Yichen presented his partners with a detailed analysis of INSO’s past lawsuits in the US, highlighting their aggressive and ethically questionable tactics, especially concerning copyright issues.

He concluded by recommending they decline the partnership, a suggestion Lao Yuan immediately supported. Ying Hui’s assistant, seeking a private conversation with Yichen, attempted to sway his decision by suggesting his personal feelings were clouding his professional judgment. She then fabricated a story about "President Ying and his wife" having an argument over their adopted son, leading to Mrs. Ying returning to China and President Ying following to reconcile, with the adopted son calling for his mother to return.

Yichen, recognizing this as a "carefully designed unintentional utterance" and a common legal tactic, dismissed it, stating such ploys would not work on him. He then excused himself, citing a court appointment. Upon learning of the rejection, Ying Hui called He Yichen, directly asking if Yichen’s decision was influenced by his past with Mosheng.

Yichen reiterated that he would not allow personal feelings to override the firm's interests, and that since he and Mosheng were married, they had put the past behind them. Ying Hui countered by saying Yichen was also a part of "their past." Yichen calmly described their dynamic: "you are playing tricks, and I am waiting for you with ease." The two men agreed to meet for a more detailed discussion after Ying Hui returned from Hong Kong.

Shortly after, Ying Hui called his US lawyer, Daniel, urging him to expedite the "divorce annulment application," emphasizing that he "can't wait any longer." Ying Hui later attended his college reunion, where he was celebrated by his former classmates. They discussed how much everyone had changed, noting that only their "class goddess," Tong Xinying, still looked the same, while Ying Hui had become a successful "god of wealth."

They speculated whether Xinying, who had "abandoned" Ying Hui in college, now regretted it. Ying Hui arrived to much fanfare, acknowledging Xinying with a subtle nod from across the room. An assistant soon pulled him away for an "urgent matter," prompting him to apologize and promise to host another gathering. As he left the hotel, Ying Hui observed Xinying following him, noting her feigned sadness.

He remarked to his assistant that if she had simply left, he would have let go of the past, but he knew her true intentions. Xinying approached, claiming she came to see his happiness and apologized for leaving him due to her father's illness. Ying Hui stated he couldn't blame her, but that "both of us lost a lot" in the past.

Xinying tried to emphasize his current success, but Ying Hui maintained that she knew what he truly meant about not losing anymore and wanting her to be happy. He then arranged for a car to take her home. After Xinying left, Ying Hui scoffed at her "acting," lamenting that he had once been "blinded by love" by such a woman. His assistant suggested they could give her a "big, heavy gift" in return.

Ying Hui then shifted the conversation to arrangements for a reception in Hong Kong. Later, Yimei and Lu Yuanfeng were having dinner, waiting for Mosheng. He Yichen, who had joined them, commented that he didn't inquire much about Mosheng's work but was "quite surprised" that Ying Hui had specifically requested Mosheng for his interview. Yimei expressed her awe at Mosheng's ability to be connected to both Yichen, a "top law school student," and now Ying Hui, a "big shot" from her time abroad.
