Lu Yuanfeng and Xiao Xiao found themselves in a jewelry store, each determined to purchase the same exquisite diamond necklace. Lu Yuanfeng declared that such a pristine diamond was ill-suited for Xiao Xiao's "vulgar taste." He further taunted her, saying a big star like her shouldn't have to buy her own jewelry; she should have a wealthy patron to foot the bill.

Xiao Xiao fired back, scoffing that even if he bought He Yimei an entire shopping district, Yimei would still not be interested in him. Eventually, Xiao Xiao relented, but not without delivering a sharp warning to Lu Yuanfeng: never cross her path again. Lu Yuanfeng acquired the necklace and presented it to He Yimei as a birthday gift. To his surprise, Yimei informed him that her birthday was still a month away.

She criticized his choice, calling it a waste of money and impractical, and insisted he return it. Lu Yuanfeng quickly explained that it was merely a "great replica" and inexpensive, which prompted Yimei to reluctantly accept it. Xiao Xiao later visited Mo Sheng, her arms laden with "Good Wife Cookbooks," teasingly congratulating Mo Sheng on her new role as a "housewife."

She remarked that it was her first time in "Lawyer He's house," thanks to Mo Sheng, and observed that the house felt "too cold." Mo Sheng acknowledged the atmosphere, saying she would gradually change the curtains and decor to make it feel more welcoming. Xiao Xiao then mentioned she had originally planned to buy Mo Sheng a diamond necklace but Lu Yuanfeng had snatched it.

Xiao Xiao then questioned Mo Sheng about her marriage to He Yichen, specifically if he had discussed wedding banquets, invitations, wedding photos, or even wedding rings. Mo Sheng admitted they hadn't bought rings and speculated that Yichen might still be upset with her. Xiao Xiao pressed, asking if their past breakup was the reason for his anger, but Mo Sheng clarified it was not about that. Later, He Yichen arrived home to find Mo Sheng bustling in the kitchen.

He stood silently in the living room, observing her until she noticed him as she headed to his study for a recipe. In his closet, Yichen noticed a new array of colors among his usual somber wardrobe, feeling a sense of completeness in his life. His reflection was cut short by Mo Sheng's startled cry from the kitchen. Rushing in, he found she had accidentally spilled soup on his computer.

He quickly saw her hand was scalded and attended to her injury. Upon returning, they discovered the computer wouldn't power on, and a crucial translation document for the next day's work was lost. Yichen inquired about Mo Sheng's English skills, to which she shyly confessed she hadn't even passed CET-4. He then asked her to help him re-translate the document. Mo Sheng struggled with technical terms, lamenting her wasted years abroad, and ultimately had to seek Yichen's assistance.

Despite the pending work, she soon complained of hunger, prompting Yichen to take her out to eat. After their meal, Mo Sheng promptly fell asleep, leaving Yichen to finish the translation alone. The following morning, Mo Sheng awoke to bright daylight, realizing she was in bed and wearing pajamas she hadn't put on herself. Downstairs, Yichen had already prepared breakfast. Overcome with guilt, Mo Sheng kept her head bowed.

She called Xiao Xiao, hoping for a recommendation for a computer repair technician, but Xiao Xiao had no contacts and suggested she ask others. After hanging up, Xiao Xiao wistfully noted how everyone around her seemed to be falling in love, making her desire a relationship too. However, the fleeting image of Lu Yuanfeng immediately made her dismiss the thought, declaring him a "mawkish idiot" who extinguished her romantic inclinations.

Meanwhile, He Yimei's colleagues discovered the diamond necklace Lu Yuanfeng had given her, left casually on her desk. They admired its brilliance, assuming it was highly valuable. Yimei, however, insisted it was a "great replica" and therefore worthless. Her colleagues were quick to correct her, having seen the identical necklace at a specialty store on Nanjing Road, estimating its price to be well over $100,000.

Back at home, Mo Sheng discovered a barbecue invitation in their mailbox for a different community. She questioned Yichen, who explained it was for the house he had purchased for his aunt and uncle, Yimei's parents, with the handover scheduled for the upcoming Monday. Hearing of Yimei's parents' imminent visit, Mo Sheng immediately sprang into action, buying decorations for the house and booking two restaurants for a celebratory dinner.

When Yimei's parents arrived, they adamantly refused to accept the new house. They stated that Yichen had already bought them a home in their hometown, which they considered temporary and intended to return to him eventually. Since they didn't reside in Shanghai, they deemed the new house unnecessary and a waste of money. Yichen proposed that Yimei could live there, as it was conveniently located near the TV station.

Yimei's father countered that even if Yichen were their biological son, there was no justifiable reason for him to buy his "sister" such a large property, especially considering he had already paid the down payment for Yimei's current small apartment. Yichen continued to insist, saying he simply wanted to make life more comfortable for everyone, even going so far as to suggest it could be considered Yimei's dowry.

During this discussion, Mo Sheng called, asking Yichen to choose between the two restaurants she had booked for dinner. Yichen, already having lunch with his aunt and uncle, informed her they were eating and would be returning to their hometown that very evening. That night, a distressed Mo Sheng confronted Yichen at home, asking if he regretted their marriage. She questioned why he had kept their union a secret from everyone and had not allowed her to meet his family.

At work, Mo Sheng expressed her yearning for travel, even a business trip. Her colleague, Xiao Hong, offered to speak to the editor-in-chief about a potential travel assignment. In the meantime, Xiao Hong promised to take Mo Sheng to a place she would enjoy, leading her to a renowned hair salon for a new hairstyle to lift her spirits. Mo Sheng initially hesitated but was persuaded by Xiao Hong. Simultaneously, at the Y. X. H.

Law Firm, He Yichen and his two partners successfully concluded a significant negotiation. The staff, jubilant, demanded a celebratory meal. Lao Yuan cheerfully agreed, telling them to pick a venue and declared that "Lawyer He" would cover all expenses.

He Yichen, recalling Mo Sheng's earlier words about not being introduced to his family and their undisclosed marriage, and having hinted mysteriously to Lao Yuan about a reason for his "abnormal" behavior, readily agreed to host the celebratory hotpot dinner at his house. However, when he called Mo Sheng to inform her that the firm was having dinner, she misunderstood, believing he was having dinner with the firm alone.

She told him she had just arrived home from an outdoor shoot and would eat by herself, then ended the call. Back at the salon, Mo Sheng's hair was disastrously cut by an eccentric stylist who insisted on his "own way" and claimed her "classy haircut" was free because he only charged for bad ones. Moments later, Mo Sheng saw Xiao Hong emerge with an even more hideous haircut, finally causing Mo Sheng to burst into laughter.

Xiao Hong was furious, berating the salon and suspecting their editor, Da Bao, had deliberately recommended it to trick them all. Lao Yuan, Xiang Heng, and others made plans to buy food and liquor for the hotpot dinner at Yichen's, while Yichen's earlier mysterious hint to Lao Yuan remained to be revealed.
