Following a tumultuous encounter with Ying Hui, Zhao Mosheng decides to move out of his home. Ying Hui suggests she return to China, encouraging her not to "bury her head in the sand" any longer. As he takes her to the airport, Ying Hui tells her that if she chooses not to come back, they should temporarily cease contact.

He secretly believes that He Yichen couldn't have waited seven years for her and hopes her trip will lead her to give up on him. Meanwhile, at Treasure Magazine, a new director named Tao Yijing is hired after Wen Min's resignation. The editor-in-chief calls a meeting, proposing a new "Elite Men" column to feature successful men on the cover, much like men's magazines feature cover girls.

He Yichen is one of the initial targets, and Tao Yijing immediately suggests he be featured in the first issue, noting his recent success in a major economic case and his handsome appearance, which she believes would attract female readers. Tao Yijing volunteers to secure the interview, mentioning she graduated from Changhua University, like He Yichen, and had a brief encounter with him on campus, hoping this connection would grant her an audience.

Another colleague, Xiao Hong, also expresses interest, claiming Mosheng is very well-acquainted with He Yichen. When pressed by the editor-in-chief about the extent of her relationship with He Yichen beyond the Xiao Xiao case, Mosheng nervously denies being close to him and quickly excuses herself to make a phone call. With Mosheng out of the running, the editor-in-chief assigns the task to Tao Yijing, who confidently assures him she can secure the interview.

Tao Yijing contacts He Yichen at the Y. X. H. Law Firm for an interview, but He Yichen, without inquiry, instructs his receptionist to decline the request. Later, Lao Yuan complains to He Yichen about his consistent avoidance of business dinners, stating it's unlike a partner to always pass on such engagements. To Lao Yuan's surprise, He Yichen uncharacteristically asks for details about the evening's dinner and agrees to attend with them.

At the dinner, He Yichen drinks excessively before excusing himself early, claiming he has documents to review. His behavior leaves Lao Yuan and Xiang Heng baffled, both agreeing it's highly abnormal and speculating it must be related to "that girl" He Yichen pursued at a previous meal. Worried, Xiang Heng later uses a spare key from the office to enter He Yichen's apartment, finding him still troubled. He Yichen confirms he was with Mosheng the day before.

Xiang Heng notes He Yichen's despondent state, remarking that this is the second time He Yichen has "tripped and fallen on the same person," recalling a similar state during college. Xiang Heng tries to encourage He Yichen to consider other women, even mentioning a beautiful woman who lives on the same floor and expressed interest, but He Yichen dismisses the suggestion, stating he has his "own vast land." Across the ocean, Ying Hui decides to return to China.

His company, INSO, faces antitrust accusations from US authorities, and his executives suggest he delay his return. However, Ying Hui asserts that addressing the company's issues will not significantly change in one or two weeks, implying his personal return will proceed. Meanwhile, Mosheng goes to her childhood home to visit her mother. She encounters Aunt Huang, a neighbor, and asks if her mother still lives there.

Aunt Huang confirms she does but scolds Mosheng for having left her mother alone for so many years without contact. Mosheng recalls her mother's consistent coldness towards her, even remembering a painful phone call after her father's death where her mother told her not to call or return to the country, wishing to live in peace away from anything related to her father.

Mosheng asks about her mother's health, and Aunt Huang says she is doing well and is currently away on a community tour. When Aunt Huang offers to leave Mosheng's contact information, Mosheng declines, asking her not to mention her visit. She explains that knowing her mother is living well makes her realize she no longer needs to ask what she had intended. Mosheng then asks Aunt Huang for directions to her father's cemetery.

At her father's grave, Mosheng places flowers and tearfully apologizes for taking so long to visit, confessing she had been avoiding her return, unable to accept that the person she left behind had become a tombstone. She recounts a memory of her father reassuring her when she left for the US, telling her she could always come back if she didn't like it there, but she couldn't.

She then confides in her father about He Yichen, recalling his words about wanting to restart their relationship. Mosheng expresses her doubts, wondering if it's truly a good idea. She fears that after so many years apart, and given He Yichen's excellence and popularity, he will quickly become disappointed with her again, just as he used to be. She worries she couldn't endure another breakup, preferring the stability of her current, albeit lonely, situation.

She assures her father that she is doing well and not to worry. Back at Treasure Magazine, Mosheng sees a television interview featuring He Yichen, conducted by He Yimei. At the end of the program, He Yimei, on behalf of the audience, asks He Yichen a personal question unrelated to law: if he is still single. He Yichen smiles and replies, "Right now, I still am, but I won't be soon."

Later, the editor-in-chief suggests to Tao Yijing that if she can't secure an interview with He Yichen, she should consider architect Kang Jianian instead, but Tao Yijing insists on He Yichen, pointing to the high ratings of his recent TV appearance as proof of his appeal. She reveals she has enlisted help from a friend at the TV station who was once He Yichen's program partner.

The editor-in-chief agrees to give her more time and assigns Mosheng to be Tao Yijing's photographer for the "Elite Men" column. During lunch, Tao Yijing invites Mosheng to join her and her friend, Sister Li, a presenter from the TV station's Law Channel. Mosheng is initially reluctant to join if there's a third person but is persuaded. Tao Yijing asks Sister Li to help facilitate an interview with He Yichen, reminding her that she once partnered with him.

Sister Li expresses concern about He Yichen's willingness to appear in a women's magazine, but then recalls that when she invited him as a special guest two years prior, he murmured to himself about "whether this counts as standing on the most prominent place." She also remembers him being surprisingly interested in TV ratings, asking if many people would see him, suggesting he might not be as low-key as he appears and perhaps even likes public attention.

Hearing this, Mosheng is visibly moved. She remembers a time in college when she got lost from He Yichen and told him that if she couldn't find him, she would stand on the most prominent place so he could find her. Tao Yijing asks if He Yichen is "the someone she likes," to which Mosheng quietly affirms, "Someone I like very much." At the Y. X. H. Law Firm, He Yichen is in a meeting discussing the Hongyuan Company's case when he suddenly experiences severe stomach discomfort. His colleagues immediately call 120 for emergency medical assistance.
