While Yichen was out to dinner with clients, he received a call from Mosheng. When a client suggested they move to another place for more drinks, Yichen politely declined, explaining that his wife keeps a close eye on him and had just called to check in. He joked that if she called the hotel and he wasn't there, he would definitely be in trouble at home.

The clients nodded in agreement, with one commenting that living with a wife nowadays felt like "playing urban latent." Yichen then opted to walk back to his hotel, wanting to enjoy the night view. As he walked, he saw two girls arguing about photos they had just taken, which brought back a vivid memory of his college days with Mosheng.

He recalled her excitedly showing him a photo she had taken of him, proud of her skill with light and shadow. Reflecting on the seven years she was absent and the presence of another man in her life during that time, Yichen admitted to himself that he was consumed by jealousy. Mosheng, meanwhile, was busy making Yichen's apartment her home. She received several packages containing new kitchen supplies and filled the refrigerator.

After changing the curtains, she sent Yichen a series of text messages, reminding him he had given her permission to do so and playfully warning him not to blame her if he disliked the new color. She also informed him that she had used his credit card to buy many items for the kitchen and asked if he had received the bank's notification texts. After sending numerous messages, she wondered if his phone was broken since he wasn't responding.

Eventually, Yichen replied with a terse "Got it." Later that night, Yichen returned home to find Mosheng asleep on his bed. He gently covered her with a blanket before heading to the guest room to sleep. The next morning, Mosheng woke up, surprised to find herself in Yichen's bed. She quickly tidied herself, hoping he hadn't noticed, only to find Yichen already in the living room.

She asked when he had returned and tried to explain why she was in his room, saying she had been organizing things. Yichen assured her he didn't mind but explained that due to his frequent business trips and disrupted schedule, he would temporarily sleep in the guest room. Mosheng offered to take the guest room instead, but Yichen insisted on his decision.

As Yichen prepared for work, Mosheng offered to drive him, even claiming her destination was on the way to the courthouse to make her offer more compelling. However, Yichen declined, citing their different company locations. Mosheng then asked if they could have lunch together, but he replied he wouldn't be in the area. She dropped him off before going to her own work.

Yichen arrived at his law firm, where Lao Yuan expressed his disbelief, asking if he was hallucinating, as he had spoken to Yichen in Guangzhou just the previous evening. Lao Yuan wondered why Yichen had rushed back so quickly, hinting that he suspected Yichen had returned for his wife. Yichen simply reminded him of his court appearance scheduled for that morning, dismissing Lao Yuan's inquiries.

After Yichen finished with several clients, Mosheng called him on the phone, stating she couldn't find her keys. Yichen quickly left to bring her a spare set. From a distance, he watched her playing hopscotch while she waited, a sight that reminded him of her carefree college days.

When he reached her, he handed her the key and playfully teased her about her inability to keep a secret, suggesting she would easily incriminate herself if she were ever to commit a crime. Mosheng, amused, asked what kind of crime she would possibly commit. Mosheng then asked Yichen if he was going to eat, noting the late hour. He replied he wasn't hungry and needed to return to the office to finish work.

Mosheng gently insisted that she would wait for him. To make her waiting seem less burdensome, she added that she wasn't hungry either and might as well wait. Yichen agreed and took her to his law firm, instructing her to wait in the reception area. Mosheng promised to be quiet, just like when she used to intern there, and planned to edit photos while she waited.

Lao Yuan, surprised to see Mosheng in the office, playfully referred to her as "a certain someone's ex-girlfriend." Mosheng warmly greeted him as "Senior Brother Yuan." Lao Yuan asked if she was there to rekindle her relationship with Yichen, to which she simply replied, "Yes." He commended her determination but warned her that dealing with a stubborn person like Yichen might mean waiting until 10 PM, leaving Yichen to grab "whatever bite he can" for dinner.

Concerned, Mosheng offered to treat Lao Yuan to coffee. Lao Yuan jokingly asked if she was trying to bribe him, and Mosheng admitted she needed help from people close to Yichen. Lao Yuan, understanding, readily agreed, stating he loved a free meal. At the cafe, Lao Yuan ordered generously, including extra sandwiches to go, which Mosheng intended for Yichen. Lao Yuan then directly asked her true motive: if she wanted him to monitor Yichen's work hours or romantic interests.

Mosheng denied this, explaining that she only wanted him to secretly check if Yichen ate on time and report back to her if he hadn't. Lao Yuan readily agreed, adding a wish that she would marry Yichen soon, as the firm's single men were drawing suspicious glances. As Yichen came downstairs, intending to take Mosheng to dinner, he saw her and Lao Yuan re-entering the firm after having coffee.

He expressed his displeasure, suggesting they didn't need to eat since they had already had something. Lao Yuan, sensing the tension, feigned a phone call and quickly departed. He then sent Yichen a text message, explaining that Mosheng's true intention in treating him was to enlist his help in ensuring Yichen ate on time, advising Yichen not to be jealous and treat her poorly. Yichen then took Mosheng to a restaurant he frequently visited.

The owner, recognizing Yichen and delighted to learn Mosheng was also from their hometown of Xinyi, remarked on their shared college background and called it "fate." The owner enthusiastically recommended Xinyi's specialty dishes featuring bamboo shoots. Mosheng mentioned that she enjoyed bamboo shoots, but Yichen disliked them, finding their smell strange. The owner expressed surprise, revealing that Yichen always ordered those dishes in the past.

Yichen, in an attempt to explain, said it was "difficult to refuse such kindness," implying he ordered them out of politeness to the owner, before urging Mosheng to eat. Mosheng gazed thoughtfully at Yichen, pondering his explanation. After dinner, Yichen told Mosheng to go home first, as he needed to return to the firm to finish more work.

When Mosheng asked when he would be back, hinting she would wait for him since she had his keys, Yichen informed her there was a spare key at the firm and she didn't need to wait, stating that he was "not used to being waited for." Later, Xiao Xiao visited Mosheng and brought her wedding gifts: cookbooks.

Mosheng was happy, mentioning she wanted to learn to make soup because Yichen had stomach problems, and the books arrived at the perfect time. She clarified that the soup wasn't just for him; she'd drink it too. Mosheng then posed a question to Xiao Xiao, asking why someone would regularly eat food they disliked. Xiao Xiao dismissed it as a "stupid question," but Mosheng insisted it was not.

Xiao Xiao replied that a person eats to avoid dying and joked if he was a masochist, as few people are so self-abusive. Mosheng seemed to ponder this answer, reflecting on Yichen's past behavior at the restaurant. Meanwhile, Ying Hui returned to China. On the plane, he discussed his packed schedule with his assistant Linda, including various meetings and an interview. Linda noted that he must have returned for Mosheng, asking if he was nervous.

Ying Hui admitted to being very nervous, contemplating how Mosheng would react if he told her he had no place to stay in Shanghai and asked to stay with her for a few nights, even though it wasn't a convincing lie. Upon landing, he bought flowers and immediately went to Mosheng's former residence. A neighbor informed him that Mosheng had moved out two days ago, having gotten married and relocated to her husband's home.

Ying Hui was visibly shocked and in disbelief, initially thinking the neighbor misheard. Devastated, he threw the flowers away. He then called Linda on the phone, urgently needing to find out what had happened. Xiao Xiao went to ZOCAI to buy a wedding gift for Mosheng. Lu Yuanfeng also happened to be there. Spotting Xiao Xiao, he immediately teased her about her "gaudy" taste, which she promptly retorted, asking if he was unlucky to always run into her.

Their usual bickering ensued, with Xiao Xiao defending her taste and Lu Yuanfeng criticizing her "narcissism." They both coincidentally took a fancy to the same diamond necklace, leading to a heated argument over who saw it first and who would get to buy it.
