Niu Meili, unable to afford a photography studio, had instructed Fu Zi to book a hotel room instead. Back at the hotel, Fu Zi marveled at the luxurious room, and Hao Zeyu playfully teased her by calling a coffee machine an air conditioner while he made coffee for himself. He indulged her curiosity by comically "showing" her which items in the room were "free" to take, including the furniture and even the ceiling, before revealing he was just teasing her.
Meanwhile, Fu Zi's father was approached by an old friend he used to drive taxis with, a man named Pei Yin. The friend, now wealthy from growing watermelons, expressed an immediate infatuation with Niu Meili, whom he had seen leaving Fu Zi's father's house. He asked if Niu Meili was his girlfriend, then pressed Fu Zi's father to introduce them, saying he’d been single for a long time.
Fu Zi's father reluctantly agreed, though he jokingly said he wanted to see how his friend would fare with her. With the photoshoot scheduled, Fu Zi offered to do Hao Zeyu's makeup due to budget constraints. Hao Zeyu was skeptical of her skills and insisted she use his own professional makeup brushes, revealing a surprising collection. After Fu Zi applied a rather unflattering "embalmer" style makeup, Hao Zeyu, annoyed, ended up doing his own makeup.
The photographer, a young man named Little Song Zi from Fu Zi's alley, arrived. Hao Zeyu was unimpressed by the free photographer, who immediately started eating. Fu Zi explained that Niu Meili's 2,000 yuan budget barely covered the hotel room, leaving no money for a professional photographer. She defended Little Song Zi, mentioning his persistence despite failing the photography entrance exam four times.

During the second theme, "Desire," Fu Zi tried to pose seductively on the bed, but Hao Zeyu found it unconvincing, commenting that it only gave him an "appetite." He threatened to quit, complaining about the cheesy props. Fu Zi desperately pleaded with him to cooperate for one last shot, reminding him that Niu Meili would "kill" her if they failed. For the final theme, "Wet Body," Hao Zeyu was furious, believing the photographer was going for another cliché with roses.
He lunged at the photographer with an eyeliner pen. In the ensuing struggle, ink stained one of the expensive shirts they had borrowed from the store. Fu Zi burst into tears, worried about having to pay for the damaged 4,000 yuan shirt and facing Niu Meili's wrath. Feeling remorseful, Hao Zeyu finally agreed to cooperate.
As the shoot concluded, Hao Zeyu playfully pulled Fu Zi into the bathtub, leading to some unexpected but natural candid shots that the photographer enthusiastically captured. After returning the clothes and paying for the damaged shirt, Hao Zeyu returned some money to Fu Zi for her damaged phone. She treated him to instant noodles, which he complained about as stingy, despite eating them.
They bickered over their finances and the cost of the ruined shirt, which Hao Zeyu called a "happy memory of striving." Fu Zi, despite their arguments, gave Hao Zeyu some money from her salary, making him write an IOU for 1,000 yuan. Hao Zeyu promised her that once he became rich, she could buy anything she desired from the opulent mall. Fu Zi reflected on Hao Zeyu's character, realizing he wasn't genuinely bad despite his harsh words.
However, she secretly wondered if she was destined to be a "nanny" forever, a label she vehemently rejected. Niu Meili, reviewing the photoshoot, initially criticized the results but eventually found some of the candid shots "expert level" and praised Hao Zeyu for his natural presence. Hao Zeyu, taking the initiative, presented job listings he found, including a "son" role requiring artistic crying, and a "cat demon" role requiring animal-like portrayal.
He enthusiastically demonstrated his ability to act as various animals, and even suggested cross-dressing as Nie Xiaoqian, much to Niu Meili and Fu Zi's amusement. Niu Meili advised him to be more discerning, promising to find suitable roles for him based on his attributes and arrange auditions. Later, Fu Zi waited in a wardrobe for Hao Zeyu to finish showering, as he often used the space for contemplation.
She grew suspicious when she couldn't hear water and discovered he was actually cooking dumplings instead of showering. She then ate a large plate of his dumplings. Hao Zeyu then excitedly told Fu Zi about a project by director Peng Erkang, whom he knew. Since he didn't have Peng Erkang's phone number, they decided to seek him out in person. They waited outside a hotel where Peng Erkang was staying for several days.
One day, Peng Erkang emerged and mistook Hao Zeyu for a hotel attendant, giving him a tip before quickly leaving. Frustrated, they tried to get a ride from Fu Zi's father, who was passing by in his taxi, but he refused. Hao Zeyu learned Peng Erkang frequented a local gym. They went there, but Peng Erkang left before they could approach him. In her eagerness, Fu Zi twisted her ankle.
Despite Peng Erkang returning, Hao Zeyu prioritized taking Fu Zi home to treat her injury, carrying her on his back. Unbeknownst to them, Fu Zi's father had been secretly following them, and when he revealed his presence, Fu Zi was so startled she tumbled off Hao Zeyu's back. Back at home, Fu Zi's father informed her that he found her a stable job as a subway ticket seller.
Fu Zi was shocked, insisting she already had a job as an agent. Her father, prioritizing stability, went directly to Niu Meili to obtain a work contract for Fu Zi. Meanwhile, Hao Zeyu visited Niu Meili and gave her a large bag of money, revealing he had sold all her luxury bags to raise funds. Niu Meili was stunned. Hao Zeyu quickly left before she could react. Fu Zi's father arrived moments later to find Niu Meili weeping. She handed him the bag of money, claiming it was for him. Confused and alarmed by Niu Meili's emotional state, Fu Zi's father quickly departed without discussing the subway job.
