Afterward, Fu Papa confronted Niu Meili about the recent intimacy between Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu. Niu Meili changed her previous stance, now suggesting that if Hao Zeyu also liked Fu Zi, they should be blessed.
Fu Papa directly accused Niu Meili of wanting to use Fu Zi to "tie down" Hao Zeyu, a claim Niu Meili did not deny. However, Fu Papa vehemently opposed Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu being together. Fu Zi worried about Fu Papa discovering their romance, as he had historically stifled her "budding relationships," but Hao Zeyu was unconcerned, even suggesting they simply confess. Meanwhile, Ren Jiajia messaged Gu Dapeng, confessing she had missed him and inviting him to dinner.
Gu Dapeng promptly picked her up from school. As repayment for the meal, Ren Jiajia promised to help him pursue Niu Meili, believing Niu Meili had been missing Gu Dapeng a bit, thus giving him a chance. Gu Dapeng, though initially feigning reluctance, happily agreed. Zhao Xiaobei waited at Niu Meili's home to apologize, but Niu Meili, still angry, ignored him.
She suspected he harbored "ulterior motives" concerning Hao Zeyu, believing he wanted to "steal" Hao Zeyu and establish his own agency, especially as many others were "coveting" Hao Zeyu. Zhao Xiaobei admitted that many agents were indeed competing for Hao Zeyu but emphasized Niu Meili's confidence that Hao Zeyu's heart was with her, which gave her "no fear."
He explained that he was actually setting up new talent for Niu Meili, providing her a "backup plan" and opportunities in case Hao Zeyu ever left. Hao Zeyu was about to join Director Wang's film crew, which did not permit actors to bring assistants. Fu Zi busily packed his suitcase, stuffing it with items, worried he wouldn't eat or dress properly on set.
She also prepared a bolster printed with her photo as a gift, which Hao Zeyu initially found distasteful but ultimately placed in his luggage. Fu Papa called Fu Zi, demanding she return immediately, concerned about her and Hao Zeyu being alone while packing, now "guarding Hao Zeyu like a thief." The night before Hao Zeyu's departure, Niu Meili hosted a farewell dinner for Hao Zeyu, Fu Zi, and Fu Papa.
During the meal, Niu Meili celebrated Hao Zeyu's upcoming role with Director Wang, noting it would elevate his status, and instructed him not to forget them. Afterward, Hao Zeyu and Fu Papa continued to drink in a room. Hao Zeyu, slightly drunk, pulled Fu Zi's hand, declaring he was about to become a true actor. Fu Papa, seeing this, became angry and challenged Hao Zeyu to a drinking match.
Sitting on the floor, Fu Papa told Hao Zeyu not to pick fights in the crew. Hao Zeyu teased Fu Papa about being overprotective and reminded him that Fu Zi was of age. Fu Papa insisted that while he wanted the best for Fu Zi, he absolutely rejected Hao Zeyu as her romantic partner or husband.
He feared Hao Zeyu, as an actor, might not distinguish between acting and reality, potentially "wronging" Fu Zi, and also worried about Fu Zi's insecurity seeing him "fall in love" with other actresses. Hao Zeyu countered that security comes from people, not one's profession. The next day, Fu Zi insisted on accompanying Hao Zeyu to the airport, fulfilling a past promise that she would always be with him when he flew.
Hao Zeyu asked if she would pick him up upon his return, and she confirmed she would. They were very reluctant to part. On the plane, Hao Zeyu held the bolster with Fu Zi's photo, thinking fondly of past flights where Fu Zi was by his side, which always brought him comfort and a sweet feeling. After Hao Zeyu left, Fu Zi was completely preoccupied, unable to put down her phone, eagerly awaiting his messages.
Fu Papa, noticing Fu Zi's constant phone use, repeatedly threw her phone aside. At the film set, Director Wang was displeased with Hao Zeyu's performance, repeatedly making him film scenes going up and down stairs. Fu Zi, feeling depressed, sat by her window at night, waiting for Hao Zeyu's call. She finally received his call, which made her smile with relief and happiness.
Later, both Gu Dapeng and Zhao Xiaobei showed up uninvited at Ren Jiajia's school to take her to dinner. Zhao Xiaobei also actively apologized to Ren Jiajia. Ren Jiajia, after consulting with Gu Dapeng about their equal chances (as both were uninvited), chose Zhao Xiaobei, stating she went with Gu Dapeng last time.
