After causing a public disturbance at a mall, Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu find themselves at the police station. The officer mistakenly believes they are a couple in the midst of a dramatic breakup, with Fu Zi threatening to jump from the railing. Fu Zi attempts to blame Hao Zeyu for her actions, but the officer urges both of them to reflect on their behavior.

Fu Zi refuses to return Hao Zeyu's ID card, fearing he will still leave, despite his request for it back since she tore his train ticket. Hao Zeyu tries to persuade Fu Zi to ask her father to bail him out, but she adamantly refuses. Left with no other option, Hao Zeyu calls Niu Meili for help.

Meanwhile, Fu's Dad and Niu Meili arrive at the police station, immediately getting into a heated argument about whose "child" is more at fault. To their astonishment, the officer informs them that Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu are a romantic couple and that Fu Zi's actions were a desperate attempt to stop Hao Zeyu from leaving. Inside the station, Fu's Dad attempts to kick Fu Zi, but Hao Zeyu and Niu Meili intervene.

Hao Zeyu then confesses to Niu Meili and Fu's Dad his intention to return to his hometown, revealing he had already given Fu Zi the termination fee and an IOU for the remaining amount. Fu's Dad sends Niu Meili and Fu Zi home, offering to drive Hao Zeyu himself. In the car, Hao Zeyu reflects on his decade-long struggle as an actor in Beijing, feeling unseen and unappreciated, like a "lion sprite" whose true identity remains hidden.

He expresses his fear of burdening Niu Meili, Fu Zi, and Fu's Dad. Fu's Dad advises him that abandoning his path won't solve problems, comparing it to impatient drivers changing lanes during a traffic jam. He tells Hao Zeyu that they see him as an investment, a "crop" they are nurturing. Hao Zeyu, absorbing these words, asks Fu's Dad to take him home.

Back home, Niu Meili is distraught, crying to Fu Zi about her envy for Hao Zeyu's freedom to leave and start anew, something she feels is impossible for her at her age. She admits that her greatest peace would come from his success. Fu's Dad observes Niu Meili's efforts to send Fu Zi to convince Hao Zeyu to stay, choosing not to expose her intentions. Taking action, Fu Zi rushes to Hao Zeyu's apartment.

She returns the IOUs he had given her and his ID card, urging him not to leave with debts. She then passionately recounts Niu Meili's difficult journey in Beijing, from living in a basement with a deceased mouse to her repeated business failures, emphasizing that Hao Zeyu brought a renewed sense of hope and purpose into Niu Meili's life. Deeply moved by Fu Zi's words and the sacrifices made for him, Hao Zeyu declares he cannot leave.

He vows to repay all that he owes and asserts that if he ever leaves Beijing, it will be with honor and not as a failure. Relieved, Fu Zi embraces him tightly. Hao Zeyu later visits Niu Meili, offering three bananas as an apology: one for leaving without telling her, another to signify his renewed commitment to work hard, and the third for her beauty. Niu Meili expresses her hurt over his attempted departure and questions his overthinking nature.

Hao Zeyu, still grappling with his worth, asks if her extensive efforts for someone he perceives as "hopeless" are truly worthwhile. Niu Meili returns his bank card, playfully explaining she couldn't use it because he never told her the password. She then tells him that a giver's deepest pain isn't the lack of return, but offering something the recipient doesn't truly want. She asks him what his true desire is.

Hao Zeyu asserts his aspiration to be a good actor, meticulously portraying each role to connect with the audience. Niu Meili confirms that if this is his genuine goal, then everything she does for him is indeed worth it, as they now share a common objective. Driven by the need to secure a tangible opportunity for Hao Zeyu, Fu Zi decides to confront Director Peng Yongkang.

While an imagined Hao Zeyu mockingly suggests she use her dramatic "crying, screaming, threatening suicide" tactics, Fu Zi instead passionately advocates for Hao Zeyu. She highlights his dedication to his craft, evidenced by his extreme weight fluctuations, and confidently declares that he is destined for greatness, warning Peng Yongkang not to miss out on his potential.

Impressed by her unwavering conviction, Peng Yongkang admits that the male lead role is unavailable but offers Hao Zeyu the third male lead part, promising to send a contract. Fu Zi is ecstatic, thanking him profusely and rushing out, so overwhelmed with joy that she trips and falls, but laughs heartily on the ground. She immediately calls Hao Zeyu, sharing the good news through tears of happiness.

Hao Zeyu, though pleased, playfully scolds her for meeting Peng Yongkang alone, half-jokingly crediting her "scaring" the director for securing the role. He thanks her and lightheartedly boasts that he will "casually" win a Best Supporting Actor award, to which Fu Zi jokingly demands he "casually" repay her money first. Upon seeing Fu Zi's tear-reddened eyes, Hao Zeyu sternly warns her never to meet people alone again.

Niu Meili, examining the new contract, expresses disappointment at the mere 10,000 yuan salary, noting it's less than what she invested in Hao Zeyu's previous training. Fu Zi, however, dismisses the low pay, highlighting that the female lead, Bai Jiaojiao, is known as a "male god maker," which will undoubtedly open doors for Hao Zeyu's future career. To further enhance Hao Zeyu's image, Niu Meili arranges for costume editor Zhao Xiaobei to style him.

At their meeting, Niu Meili is instantly smitten with Zhao Xiaobei and attempts to persuade him to lend Hao Zeyu high-end clothes, the same brand worn by Bai Jiaojiao. Zhao Xiaobei initially refuses, citing the risks, and walks away after reviewing Hao Zeyu's unimpressive profile. However, he soon returns, suggesting second-tier brands and offering his help.

Determined to secure top-tier attire, Niu Meili resorts to drastic measures, faking a leg injury to guilt-trip Zhao Xiaobei into agreeing to her original request. While tending to Niu Meili's "injury," Fu Zi excitedly reveals her grand scheme for the upcoming press conference: to move Hao Zeyu's birthday to the day of the event, ensuring a spectacular debut. Hao Zeyu, however, objects to the deception, not wanting to draw undue attention.

Meanwhile, Niu Meili confides in Fu's Dad that she has found love, remaining resolute despite his teasing about her dating younger men. On the day of the drama's press conference, a tense atmosphere already pervades as female lead Bai Jiaojiao and second female lead Xin Ling clash in the dressing room. Outside, Fu Zi, adorned in a vibrant lion costume and pushing a large birthday cake, attempts to enter, claiming to be an assistant.

Initially denied entry by the front desk, she is let in by Xin Ling, who hopes Fu Zi's antics will steal Bai Jiaojiao's thunder. During the conference, Hao Zeyu stands awkwardly on the sidelines, witnessing the subtle power struggle between the two leading actresses. Fu Zi then bursts into the venue, pushing the cake and loudly announcing Hao Zeyu's "birthday." Hao Zeyu is profoundly embarrassed by the stunt, which Bai Jiaojiao effortlessly recognizes as a cheap publicity ploy.

As the press conference continues, Fu Zi, undeterred, moves to the side to playfully "interview" Hao Zeyu, bringing a genuine smile to his face. Amidst the unfolding chaos, the main organizers, host, and lead creators proceed to officially launch the project, seemingly oblivious that Hao Zeyu is not present on stage with them.
