> Resumos de Veil of Shadows
Following the confrontation at the Wei mansion, Wu Shiguang and You Chi are held captive at the Dragon Deity Temple. Despite being bound by Li Jie’s Demon-Binding Ropes, Wu Shiguang remains defiant, claiming he has already moved the prayer beads to a secure location. Unimpressed, Li Jie leaves his subordinates to guard the prisoners, secretly planning to use their eventual escape to lead him to the hidden beads.
Within the cold confines of the Formless Moon, Lu Wuyi is haunted by nightmares of the past thousand years. She remembers the centuries spent with her sister, Wu Wangyan, carrying out bloody missions that have left their hands stained. Lu Wuyi is deeply conflicted about the order to slay the Dragon Deity, especially since Chi Wen shares the exact likeness of Ji Ling.
When she questions her sister about the target, Wu Wangyan merely reminds her that she once insisted Ji Ling was not the Dragon Deity at all. Lu Wuyi visits the Fox Queen, Hui, seeking clarity. While the Queen rewards Lu Wuyi’s service with colorful stones, Lu Wuyi asks if the Dragon Deity has truly been consumed by evil. The Queen explains that absolute good and evil do not exist, and every being hides a darker side.
Sensing a shift in loyalty, the Queen reveals that Wu Wangyan may have developed ulterior motives. She tasks Lu Wuyi with investigating her sister, hoping she can lead Wu Wangyan back to the right path. To protect her sister from the Queen's scrutiny, Wu Wangyan acts independently as a double agent. She secretly meets with Chi Wen, revealing a new prophecy from the Oracle Stone predicting the Dragon Deity’s imminent fall.
Wu Wangyan mocks Chi Wen for sending a puppet like Ji Ling to face danger in his place. The two have a clandestine arrangement: Wu Wangyan will help Chi Wen recover his lost Dragon Deity Power, and in exchange, he will grant the foxes of the Formless Moon their freedom. Chi Wen instructs her to use her charms to retrieve the prayer beads from Wu Shiguang. Back at the temple, Wu Shiguang chants a spell to loosen his ropes.
He mocks You Chi’s complaints about his stiff frame, reminding the weasel spirit that he possesses the softest bones in the world. Using a cloud of black smoke as a distraction to knock out the guards, they steal a passage token and escape. As expected, Li Jie lingers in the shadows, ordering his men to follow them quietly to the prayer beads. Wu Wangyan intercepts Wu Shiguang first at a secluded hot spring.
She uses a maze formation to trap the pursuing Li Jie and approaches Wu Shiguang alone. Using her seductive fox tactics, she claims she could not bear to be apart from him, causing Wu Shiguang's heart to race despite his wariness. She offers a deal: in exchange for his cooperation, she will reveal the location of the next source of the Dragon Deity's Power. Lu Wuyi follows the trail and finds them together.
Wu Wangyan quickly pivots, lying to her sister that assisting Wu Shiguang is actually a secret mandate from the Fox Queen. Lu Wuyi pretends to accept this, but as she embraces her sister, she detects the unmistakable scent of Chi Wen. Realizing the depth of the deception, Lu Wuyi secretly pickpockets the temple token from Wu Wangyan. In the Scale Cave, a wounded Ji Ling confronts Chi Wen about his existence.
He clings to memories of being a blind fox saved by the Dragon Deity at South Mountain, but Chi Wen heartlessly shatters these delusions. He reveals that Ji Ling is merely a wooden puppet he crafted to serve as a disposable tool, and the "memories" were merely implanted. To prove his point, Chi Wen leads the devastated Ji Ling into a chamber filled with identical, unfinished puppet bodies.
Despite Ji Ling’s desperate insistence that his loyalty and soul make him unique, Chi Wen exerts total control over the wooden frame. He forcibly carves the "Heart Stone"—the core of Ji Ling's memories—out of his chest. As the stone is absorbed back into Chi Wen, Ji Ling’s light vanishes, and his body reverts to a lifeless wooden doll. Lu Wuyi arrives just in time to see the man she loved reduced back to a heap of timber.
