> Resumos de Veil of Shadows
At the beginning of time, Pan Gu’s spirit manifested as the Dragon Deity, who fathered nine sons. When the demon lord Jiu Ying incited a catastrophic war between humans and demons, the nine dragon sons fought him to the death. Eight of the sons transformed into mountain ranges to seal Jiu Ying away, leaving only the ninth son, Chi Wen, to guard the realm. Ten years ago, a man with no memory was found unconscious near the Dragon Deity Temple.
The deity’s servant, Ji Ling, took him in and named him Li Jie. He was sent to Mount Nandang to claim a powerful blade, becoming the eternal guardian of the Dragon Deity. Currently, Chi Wen has rescued Lu Wuyi from a restrictive formation. Suspecting that Chi Wen and Ji Ling are the same entity, Lu Wuyi attempts to probe his identity and seduce him. Chi Wen remains cold and distant, mocking her as a fox demon capable only of deception.
He returns her Jade Jue, throws her a token, and orders her to leave the temple. Elsewhere, Wu Shiguang awakens in the Shilin Sect. He learns that Chi Wen is rarely seen, remaining isolated in the Scale Cave with only Li Jie and a young attendant. Chi Wen has created a puppet of Ji Ling, convincing the construct that he is merely a small fox rescued by the deity.
When Li Jie expresses concern that Ji Ling may be developing genuine feelings, Chi Wen dismisses the notion, arguing that a puppet is incapable of true emotion. As Lu Wuyi and her sister Wu Wangyan prepare to return to the Formless Moon by boat, Ji Ling rushes to bid them farewell with flowers. Despite her feigned indifference, Lu Wuyi returns to the shore to see him, deepening their connection.
Wu Wangyan warns her sister about becoming too attached to a creature of the temple. Back at the temple, Mo Yuntan reports that the demon Yuan Wuhuo bears an uncanny resemblance to a deceased sect commander, Yuan Wuhuo. Chi Wen dismisses this as a coincidence, suggesting the demon merely took a human form based on a discarded possession of Li Jie.
Shortly after, the mythical beast Bai Ze arrives to explain that the Dragon Deity’s power was absorbed by Wu Shiguang because of his "Twelve Thoughts" prayer beads, which were crafted from dragon fangs and act as a beacon for the deity’s energy. Chi Wen orders Li Jie and Ji Ling to retrieve the power from Wu Shiguang.
Upon confrontation, Wu Shiguang reveals a dragon-kin tattoo and accuses the Shilin Sect of exterminating his people to prevent the rise of other demons. During the struggle, Wu Shiguang rips off Ji Ling’s arm, revealing the wood beneath and confirming that Ji Ling is merely a puppet. Meanwhile, the leaders of the Formless Moon consult the Fox King regarding a prophecy. The King reveals that whoever holds the Dragon Deity’s power can kill Chi Wen.
Having been corrupted by Jiu Ying’s miasma, Chi Wen is now seen as a threat to the world’s balance. The Fox King grants Lu Wuyi and Wu Wangyan a secret order: they must slay the dragon to restore order.
