Following a stormy night, Hao Yu waits in the living room for Miss Zhu. Shedding her typical defiance, she submissively serves tea and begs for mercy for Xiao Cui and Fei Hu, who have already paid a heavy price for their actions. Miss Zhu remains cold and unimpressed, merely ordering Hao Yu to iron her gown and assist her in dressing for a high-profile gala where her engagement to Ji Zhijie will be finalized.

While ironing the dress, the heavy rack nearly collapses on Hao Yu, but Ji Zhijie intervenes just in time to save her. He sternly warns her that this evening is his most critical moment with the Councillor. He promises to grant her total freedom if she remains obedient and stays out of trouble for just one more night. When Hao Yu questions the significance of the event, Ji Zhijie refuses to elaborate, repeatedly demanding her compliance.

Taking a risk, Hao Yu uses the contact information left by Xiao Cui to call Li Minglang. She confirms that Xiao Cui was a journalist and Li’s partner. Refusing to be anyone's pawn, Hao Yu informs Li that she has her own plan to complete Xiao Cui’s unfinished mission. She demands his cooperation and tells him to wait for her signal before hanging up.

At the signing ceremony between the Cangfeng Group and the Lidao Development Bureau, Councillor Zhu officially announces the union between Ji Zhijie and his daughter. In private, the Councillor and his associates pressure Ji to eliminate Hao Yu as a "loyalty test" to prove he is ready to enter their inner circle. Ji nonchalantly dismisses their concerns, stating that a single woman is not worth their trouble, and raises a toast to "the big picture."

Ji Zhijie returns home intoxicated, calling out for henchmen like Fei Long and Fei Hu to bring him water. Hao Yu reminds him that he has already driven them all away. In a drunken, feverish haze, Ji pushes Hao Yu away when she tries to help, accusing her of being insincere. He repeatedly insists that he has given her freedom and tells her to leave immediately to stay away from the impending danger.

The next morning, Hao Yu continues her submissive act to lower Miss Zhu’s guard. When Miss Zhu questions her sudden change in attitude, Hao Yu claims she has no choice but to humble herself. Under the pretext of giving Miss Zhu a manicure to complete her look, Hao Yu secretly lifts the woman’s fingerprints using a moisturizing cream.

Soon after, Li Minglang arrives under the guise of a police inspection, providing the distraction Hao Yu needs to slip into a secret room. Hao Yu successfully uses the lifted fingerprint to unlock a safe and retrieve classified documents, but she is immediately cornered by Miss Zhu and Ji Zhijie. Miss Zhu mockingly reveals that Ji Zhijie was the one who alerted them to her scheme.

Enraged, Ji chokes Hao Yu, demanding to know why she returned to provoke the Zhu family after being granted her freedom. Hao Yu remains defiant, listing the blood debts of her foster father, Xiao Cui, and other innocent victims, vowing to see them all pay for their crimes. Claiming he will no longer protect her, Ji Zhijie hands Hao Yu over to Miss Zhu to be dealt with as she pleases.

Comparing Hao Yu to the historical femme fatale Yang Yuhuan, Miss Zhu decides to have her buried alive in a wooden box so she can die of suffocation. After Ji walks away, Hao Yu is forced into a crate and transported to the beach. The two men tasked with the burial mock the former "Boss's Lady," planning to assault her before carrying out the execution.
