In Chinatown, Ji Zhijie confronted a subordinate for dealing drugs on his territory and coercing his men into trafficking. The tension was interrupted by news that Uncle Kun had dispatched Weihao to Wugang Street to hunt for a mole. Every high-ranking member, including Hao Yu, was ordered back to the gang’s mansion. Realizing Hao Yu was currently at Wugang Street, Zhijie rushed to find her. At Wugang Street, Hao Yu visited Medium Zhu for a fortune reading.
While her career showed resilience, the fortune-teller gave her a "worst-luck" slip regarding her hopes for a child, offering her a bowl of dumplings to change her fate. Hao Yu then slipped away to a rooftop to meet her godfather, a high-ranking police official named Guan Renjie. She handed over gathered intelligence but warned that the Cangfeng organization was becoming harder to infiltrate as they transitioned into legitimate businesses.
Guan Renjie informed her that an old acquaintance, Zhou Ziheng, had been promoted and transferred back to the area. The secret meeting was cut short when Guan Renjie received a tip that Uncle Kun’s men had tracked them. Simultaneously, Zhijie tried calling Hao Yu repeatedly. Guan Renjie urged her to escape while he stayed behind.
After a frantic dash to retrieve her belongings from Medium Zhu’s shop, Hao Yu descended a staircase only to witness Guan Renjie fall to his death right in front of her. Before she could react, Zhijie appeared and pulled her into a kiss directly in front of a security camera to establish a public alibi. He then forced her into his car and sped away just as Zhou Ziheng arrived at the scene.
Inside the car, Zhijie silenced Hao Yu's attempts to speak. Before entering the mansion, he left visible marks on her neck, warning her that she must claim they had been together since the previous day if she wanted to survive. Upon their arrival, the other gang members noticed the marks and gossiped about the couple's supposed long night together. However, Jiali remained suspicious.
She openly labeled Hao Yu a "vixen" and accused her of colluding with Guan Renjie to sabotage her business interests, even bragging that her own men were responsible for the police official's death. Uncle Kun intervened to stop the infighting, reminding the group that unity was their only strength. One of the men presented Guan Renjie’s mobile phone, claiming the official had jumped during a brutal pursuit.
Jiali proposed a test: they would call the last contact on the phone to expose the traitor. To Hao Yu’s horror, the phone rang in the pocket of Feishu, one of Jiali’s longtime subordinates. Feishu broke down and confessed to cooperating with Guan Renjie just once to pay for his mother’s surgery, complaining that the gang's shift to legitimate business had left him with no way to make a profit.
Before Feishu could say more, Zhijie shot him dead, declaring that betrayal toward Uncle Kun carried only one penalty. While this seemingly settled the matter, Jiali was left humiliated and vowed revenge. Meanwhile, a wary Uncle Kun ordered a deep investigation into Hao Yu’s background. He noted that although she had officially renounced her relationship with her godfather years ago to be with Zhijie, she remained a person of interest.
He also demanded to be notified the moment the police appointed Guan Renjie’s replacement. Later, Hao Yu realized her phone was missing and confronted Zhijie, discovering he had intentionally swapped their devices earlier. Zhijie revealed he knew she was the one truly meeting Guan Renjie that day; he had discovered that Feishu had actually been gambling elsewhere during the time of the meeting. Zhijie admitted he killed Feishu solely to silence him and protect Hao Yu’s life.
Hao Yu defended her actions, explaining she only went to Wugang Street for fertility guidance and had no idea Guan Renjie would be there. Devastated by the death of her godfather and Zhijie’s cold interrogation, she told him that even if she proved her innocence, their relationship was over. She refused to stay with a man who prioritized suspicion over trust.
