After being drugged and kidnapped, Hao Yu managed to snatch a button from her captor before losing consciousness. It was revealed that Zhou Ziheng was behind the abduction, as he delivered her directly to Yingquan. Zhou proposed a cold-blooded deal: Yingquan would use Hao Yu as leverage to lure Ji Zhijie out and seize his goods, after which Yingquan would kill Ji and return Hao Yu to Zhou. This would allow Zhou to play the hero and "rescue" her.

When Yingquan questioned the alliance, Zhou revealed he held enough blackmail material to imprison him for ten lifetimes. Driven by a bitter desire to snatch away everything Ji Zhijie possessed, Zhou pressured Yingquan into the deal, even offering to help move the goods to avoid trouble from Suphan. Yingquan contacted Ji Zhijie, demanding he come alone within the hour if he wanted to save Hao Yu.

He warned that if Ji brought a weapon or a single person, Hao Yu’s safety could not be guaranteed. Despite the danger, Ji Zhijie set off immediately. On the way, he was intercepted by Suphan (Suchart's brother), who sought vengeance for his sibling’s death. Ji remained calm, convincing the grieving man that he was innocent and inviting him to Yingquan’s hideout to hear the truth for himself, noting that as a lone man, he posed no threat.

Upon reaching Yingquan's territory, Ji was met with a sadistic display. Yingquan pointed to a shipping container where Hao Yu was trapped and threw the key into a pile of jagged glass shards. He mocked Hao Yu’s fear of the dark and ordered Ji to kneel like a dog and find the key with his bare hands. Inside the container, Hao Yu desperately worked to cut her bindings.

Outside, Ji Zhijie did not hesitate; he dropped to his knees, his hands becoming a bloody mess as he sifted through the glass. As Yingquan reached the end of a countdown, Ji finally retrieved the key and unlocked the door to save Hao Yu. Knowing Yingquan had no intention of letting them leave alive, Ji Zhijie demanded the truth as his "final wish."

Yingquan arrogantly admitted to everything: he had murdered Suchart and framed Ji to seize power, and he had manipulated Wei Hao and Zhong Jiali to destroy Ji so he could rule Southeast Asia. This confession was his undoing. Suphan, who had been listening in the shadows as part of Ji's plan, lunged forward and stabbed Yingquan to death to avenge his brother. In the ensuing chaos, Ji went to secure the cargo and spotted Zhou Ziheng lurking at the scene.

Zhou fled immediately, and Ji ordered Feilong to pursue him while his men moved the goods to safety. The police, led by Officer Li, arrived shortly after and took everyone to the station. Ji Zhijie maintained that they were victims of a failed security system and a brutal kidnapping. Inside an interrogation room, Zhou Ziheng took over, turning off the cameras and audio to speak with Hao Yu privately.

He tried to justify his actions, claiming he had framed Zhong Jiali and Wei Hao only to protect Hao Yu’s identity as an undercover agent. He questioned her loyalty, asking if she had truly fallen for Ji Zhijie. Hao Yu remained guarded, recounting her kidnapping but claiming she knew nothing about the stolen goods or the specifics of the shooters at the warehouse.

Once they were released, Hao Yu insisted on having a doctor come to their home to treat Ji Zhijie’s severe injuries. Although Ji tried to dismiss his wounds as minor, Hao Yu remained deeply distressed by what he had endured for her. When Ji asked how she had been snatched, she claimed she had simply taken a shortcut while out shopping and remembered nothing else.

As she tended to him, she struggled with her conflicting feelings, wondering why a man labeled as a criminal was the only one who consistently saved her. When the medicine proved too bitter for him, Ji leaned in, asking for a "sweet reward" instead.
