Ji Zhijie emerges from his flogging, bloodied but resolute. Feilong urges him to seek medical attention, but Ji insists on returning home immediately. Despite Feilong's remark that Ji is clearly worried about whether Hao Yu has eaten, Ji deflects the concern. He orders that the upcoming transaction with Suchart be expedited and tasks Feilong with personally investigating Zhong Jiali’s recent movements, sensing a deeper betrayal within their ranks. Back at the villa, Hao Yu is desperate to clear her name.

She confronts Ji Zhijie with a pair of earrings, explaining that Jiali had used them to frame her for the leak that led to the earlier chaos. She pleads with him to remember that she was wearing those exact earrings the day he rescued her from the warehouse. However, Ji is beyond trust, dismissing her evidence as another attempt to shift blame. He orders the servants out, leaving the two of them in a tense standoff.

Hao Yu’s concern shifts to Chen Ma and the other servants, who have disappeared. She demands to know where they are, telling Ji to vent his anger on her instead of hurting the innocent. Embittered by her connection to the policeman Zhou Ziheng, Ji taunts her, asking if she has forgotten that he is a ruthless man. In a fit of cruelty, he lies and claims he has already slaughtered the servants and Zhou Ziheng.

When a vase is accidentally shattered during their struggle, Ji instinctively shields Hao Yu from the shards, injuring himself further. Despite this moment of protection, he locks her in the room, threatening to kill another person for every meal she refuses to eat. Meanwhile, Jiali meets with her subordinates, satisfied that her plan to frame Hao Yu has caused the desired rift.

Though she is pleased that Hao Yu is suffering, she remains intent on a more permanent solution and warns her men that not a word of their true motives must leak to their boss, Uncle Kun. As the time for the major trade approaches, Feilong informs Ji that the deal is set for 5:00 PM at New Bridge, after which Ji intends to take Hao Yu and flee to the United Kingdom.

Hao Yu, overhearing the details, realizes this is her final chance to signal for help. She convinces Ji to let her maid, Zhen, go to Duchen Temple to fulfill a spiritual vow on her behalf. Under the guise of sending incense money, she gives Zhen a specific Buddhist verse as a coded message to pass on: "With this very body, may we be reborn in the Pure Land."

As Hao Yu is later led to the car to accompany Ji to the trade, she is relieved to see Chen Ma and the others are still alive, realizing Ji's earlier claims were merely a way to torture her mentally. At New Bridge, Ji Zhijie warns Hao Yu to stay close, promising she is safest by his side. They are met not by Suchart, but by Jiali, who reveals she has the buyer under her control.

She demands the goods, mocking Ji for his misplaced loyalty. However, Ji reveals he was never truly fooled. He had already investigated Jiali and knew she was the mole who had manipulated the previous events to get her colleagues, Feishu and Weihao, killed. He warns her that Suchart’s brother, Suphan, will be far more ruthless than Uncle Kun if the deal fails. The situation spirals out of control when Weihao suddenly appears, armed and unstable.

He refuses Jiali’s orders to leave, claiming he has nothing left to fear since he has already "died" once. He demands the goods, threatening to kill everyone. Ji hands over a briefcase, but when it is opened, it contains only cash. Enraged, Weihao opens fire. In the chaos of the shootout, Hao Yu throws herself in front of Ji Zhijie, taking the bullet intended for him.

As the police and medical teams—alerted by the message she smuggled out—rush toward the bridge, a devastated Ji Zhijie cradles Hao Yu, haunted by her sacrifice. Zhou Ziheng arrives at the scene just as the sirens wail, witnessing the bloody aftermath of the betrayal.
