Resumen del episodio 6 de Never Gone
> Resúmenes de Never Gone
After a recent gathering, Mo Yuhua and Su Yunjin walked home, reflecting on Song Ming's brave decision to follow Meng Xue by attending a language school abroad. Su Yunjin wondered if such courage was truly a wise path, considering Song Ming could have pursued a better education and future. Mo Yuhua, however, felt a deep sense of devotion, admitting she was heading to an internet cafe to help Zhou Ziyi with his homework.
Despite knowing that Zhou Ziyi had explicitly rejected her feelings after high school, she found herself unable to forget him. For Mo Yuhua, doing even a small thing for him brought her contentment and happiness, and abandoning her feelings would be far more painful than any effort she expended.
Su Yunjin initially urged her friend to let go, believing her efforts were futile, but Mo Yuhua argued that if she had to give up on him, it would be a greater agony than her current efforts. She expressed gratitude that Zhou Ziyi did not prevent her from liking him, as this allowed her to cope with her feelings.
Su Yunjin eventually acknowledged that Song Ming's path might be right for him, but for herself, she desired a simple, peaceful, and stable life with someone who could truly understand her. Upon returning home, Su Yunjin found her mother diligently crafting handmade lanterns to sell. Feeling a pang of guilt and concern for her mother's tireless work, Su Yunjin joined her, and the mother-daughter duo shared a rare moment of joy.
Later that night, as her mother slept soundly, Su Yunjin gazed at their family photo. Her heart ached with longing for her late father, and she resolved to work harder to ensure her mother would lead a more secure and happy life, free from such hardship. Meanwhile, Shen Juan began his internship at Hengkai company as instructed by his professor.
His meticulous and responsible approach to data maintenance quickly impressed General Manager Zhang Yue, who also happened to be Cheng Zheng's cousin. She was so satisfied with his work that she promptly decided to offer him a permanent position. While Shen Juan was working late, focusing on the data, a colleague brought him coffee and commented on his meticulousness, noting that most interns were not as thorough.
Shen Juan explained his belief in being stringent with data, to avoid being perceived as unprofessional. Later, Zhang Yue personally spoke with Shen Juan, praising his talent and acknowledging his existing aspirations. She emphasized the significant opportunity Hengkai presented, especially with its strategic shift towards the Internet industry. She advised him against being rigidly confined by his initial plans, suggesting that choosing better opportunities would lead to a smoother path.
Although Shen Juan's postgraduate qualification was essentially finalized, he found himself wavering between academic pursuit and a promising career. After much deliberation, he made the significant decision to forgo his postgraduate studies and accept the position at Hengkai, even canceling dinner plans with his classmates to prioritize work at the company.
His professor, who had long intended to mentor Shen Juan as an academic elite like his star student Gao Jing, urged him to abandon other thoughts if he wished to pursue postgraduate studies, promising a stable future. However, Shen Juan expressed his desire for a life with greater returns for greater effort, seeing Zhang Yue's new subsidiary as a high-potential venture within Hengkai, a "gamble" he was confident he would win.
Despite Cheng Zheng's outwardly cold demeanor towards Su Yunjin, he couldn't get her out of his mind. He had been sending her messages over the summer, but she hadn't replied. One day, he discreetly followed her as she rode her bike, delivering a box of lanterns to the factory. In a moment of carelessness, Su Yunjin tumbled, and a box of her mother's handmade lanterns was damaged. Cheng Zheng, filled with remorse, immediately offered money as compensation.
However, a tearful Su Yunjin, heartbroken over her mother's painstaking effort, rejected his offer and asked him to stay away from her. The image of her distressed face and refusal deeply affected him. Later, while playing basketball, Cheng Zheng was visibly distracted. When a girl named Xiao Yu confessed her feelings for him, he gently declined, admitting he had liked someone else for a very long time.
He then defiantly declared his possessive feelings for Su Yunjin, asserting that she was and could only be his. The summer break concluded, and Su Yunjin and Mo Yuhua embarked on their journey back to school. Su Yunjin confided in Mo Yuhua that she had used all the money earned from her part-time job to cover the damaged lantern costs, a consequence of the earlier accident. Upon their arrival at the station, Shen Juan was already waiting for Su Yunjin.
Mo Yuhua, sensing the moment, thoughtfully made her way back to school alone, leaving Su Yunjin under Shen Juan's care, but not before subtly advising Su Yunjin to cherish the relationship if she felt it was right. Walking together, Su Yunjin told Shen Juan that she always knew she wasn't a person with grand ambitions and simply desired a peaceful, beautiful, and simple life.
She expressed that she understood he wanted a similar stable life and felt they were "the same kind of people," though she worried she might not be as "excellent" as him. Shen Juan reassured her that she would achieve the life she wanted. When Su Yunjin inquired about his postgraduate studies, Shen Juan vaguely mentioned it was still pending, implying he was occupied assisting his professor during the break, deliberately omitting his decision to take the Hengkai job.
Back at the dormitory, Su Yunjin heard from a roommate that Shen Juan was supposedly interning at Hengxin Shidai, a subsidiary of Hengkai Group. Her roommate expressed surprise, knowing Shen Juan was brilliant and had no need for an internship if he was pursuing postgraduate studies. Su Yunjin, recalling Shen Juan's earlier statement about helping his professor, dismissed it as a mere rumor. Every day, Shen Juan would escort Su Yunjin to class.
One day, Cheng Zheng, unable to suppress his longing for Su Yunjin, flew to Shanghai to find her. While at a temple, he purchased two blessed trinkets, remarking in a voiceover on the "trivial things people are fond of" (likely referring to Su Yunjin). As fate would have it, he saw Shen Juan and Su Yunjin together. Shen Juan, with a gentle smile, held Su Yunjin's hand, igniting a fierce jealousy in Cheng Zheng.
Su Yunjin introduced Cheng Zheng as a "high school friend," to Shen Juan's evident surprise. Cheng Zheng, seemingly unfazed, suggested joining their planned outing to a temple, much to Shen Juan's thinly veiled annoyance. Unbeknownst to them, Zhou Ziyi, who had also just arrived in Shanghai to find Su Yunjin, stumbled upon Mo Yuhua in her lab. Mo Yuhua informed him that Su Yunjin was likely on an outing with Shen Juan.
Realizing Cheng Zheng might have run into them, Zhou Ziyi exclaimed his worry, anticipating a chaotic confrontation. Meanwhile, Mo Yuhua's lab friend inquired about Zhou Ziyi, to which Mo Yuhua responded that he was just a "high school friend."
