Resumen del episodio 24 de Never Gone
> Resúmenes de Never Gone
Su Yunjin and Miss Guo returned to the office after leaving the reception. Miss Guo revealed that she was pregnant and intended to leave MD Network. She clarified that she wasn't forced out, but chose to leave, and Mr Xu's recent decisions only solidified her resolve. She expressed admiration for Mr Xu's decisive nature and sharp judgment, believing that a new company formed by others under him would be stronger than MD Network.
However, another colleague disagreed, seeing Mr Xu's actions as dismissive and noting widespread dissatisfaction. He emphasized that despite any grievances, they still had to handle the Paipai Project. Miss Guo then turned to Su Yunjin, who felt that reporting to Mr Xu about the project would be useless. Su Yunjin argued that since Mr Xu had given them this opportunity, they shouldn't give up.
Miss Guo stated that this was her last request before leaving, asking if Su Yunjin would defy her. Su Yunjin, though hesitant, promised to try her best. Jin Zi met with Mo Yuhua, apologizing for his delay due to a hospital operation observation.
Mo Yuhua immediately inquired about Zhou Ziyi, expressing concern when Jin Zi informed her that Zhou Ziyi had taken a three to four-day leave for an urgent matter and would not be joining them, despite their prior plans. Mo Yuhua instinctively reached for her phone to call Zhou Ziyi, but Jin Zi reassured her that Zhou Ziyi had appeared cheerful when he left, suggesting it was likely nothing serious.
Jin Zi then urged Mo Yuhua to eat, offering her a shared utensil, to which Mo Yuhua, as a medical professional, initially showed hesitation but accepted his assurance that it was clean. She noticed a spray Jin Zi had, and he explained it was a new sports injury treatment he had planned to give to Zhou Ziyi.
Mo Yuhua asked if she could try it, mentioning her own training, and Jin Zi generously gave it to her, promising to give the rest to Zhou Ziyi later. Cheng Zheng arrived at MD Network to pick up Su Yunjin, who was leaving with a colleague. Cheng Zheng noticed something was amiss and asked what had happened. Su Yunjin explained that Miss Guo was resigning.
Cheng Zheng was surprised, but confident in Miss Guo’s abilities, he suggested she would easily find another job. Su Yunjin acknowledged this but highlighted Miss Guo’s deep emotional attachment to MD Network, having been there since graduation. Cheng Zheng then playfully linked this to their own faithfulness. He then playfully chided Su Yunjin for missing their first date, demanding she compensate him by having dinner with him every night for the next week, according to his plans.
When Su Yunjin expressed concern about potential overtime, Cheng Zheng joked that each instance would add another week to her "punishment." Ultimately, he settled on breakfast if dinner wasn't feasible, but insisted dinner remained the priority. Cheng Zheng then presented Su Yunjin with a small plant, originally intended as a "first anniversary" gift, which he had initially decided against giving her because she had missed their date. However, declaring his love, he gave it to her anyway.
Su Yunjin thanked him. He then playfully requested a kiss, but Su Yunjin declined. Before leaving, he set a strict breakfast date for 6:00 AM, emphasizing the importance of a healthy breakfast. Su Yunjin agreed. Just then, Su Yunjin received a call from Uncle Ding. Uncle Ding informed her that he planned to bring her mother to Shanghai for a medical check-up, deliberately telling her mother they were visiting Su Yunjin to ensure she would come happily.
Su Yunjin agreed, asking for updates on their travel plans. Cheng Zheng offered to pick them up, but Su Yunjin said they would discuss it later. As they left, Cheng Zheng carried the plant for her. Zhang Jinmeng convened a meeting, expressing his severe dissatisfaction over the unexpected outcome of the Paipai project, which he had been assured was a guaranteed success.
Zhang Yue immediately interjected, reminding him that bids always have winners and losers, challenging the notion of a "sure win." Zhang Jinmeng countered, emphasizing Paipai’s strategic importance as the company’s flagship project for the next three to five years, and questioned the carelessness of its preparation. Zhang Yue defended the team, suggesting the plan could be adjusted and new partners found, adding that MD Network's proposal was overly pioneering and risky, implying the failure wasn't entirely their fault.
Zhang Jinmeng scoffed, pointing out that MD Network was represented by an intern, implying their own team had been outmaneuvered. Zhang Yue clarified that while they didn't win the primary bid, Paipai had requested both companies to collaborate, demonstrating the value placed on Hengkai's project. However, Zhang Jinmeng dismissed this, stating that all funding remained with MD Network, effectively relegating Hengkai to a mere supporting role. Shen Juan then pledged to gradually regain control.
Zhang Jinmeng, however, expressed profound doubt in Shen Juan's judgment and ability, asserting that his subordinates would lose faith in him. He then declared his personal intervention in the project, promising fair treatment and a clear resolution. He also subtly reminded Shen Juan of a prior agreement, hinting at consequences. Shen Juan then presented new intelligence: MD Network had appointed a new boss who was expected to realign the company’s project priorities, likely diminishing the Paipai project's significance.
Zhang Jinmeng questioned the reliability of this information, while Zhang Yue, hearing this, excitedly exclaimed that "there is always a way out." Zhang Jinmeng, however, sternly reiterated his earlier warning to Shen Juan, reminding him to remember his promises and asserting his ultimate authority within the company. Su Yunjin arrived at Mr Xu’s office to report on the Paipai project, but he abruptly granted her only fifteen minutes, citing an upcoming 8 AM meeting.
Su Yunjin quickly presented her findings, highlighting Paipai's significant initial investment and slow short-term returns, but emphasizing its strong potential over the next three to five years. Mr Xu, however, cut her short, instructing her to consult Elsa about a new "advanced project" from the US headquarters and appointing her as its liaison. Su Yunjin was taken aback, asking why, but Mr Xu curtly stated that he wasn't obligated to explain his work arrangements.
Su Yunjin then passionately articulated her commitment to the Paipai project, explaining her and Miss Guo’s extensive efforts and her decision to stay at MD Network specifically for this project. She asked if this new assignment meant she had to abandon Paipai. Mr Xu clarified he hadn't said she must abandon it, then challenged her, questioning if she felt helpless without Miss Guo.
He defended his seemingly autocratic decisions to cut expenses and staff, explaining that previous projects had squandered resources on unnecessary entertainment and convoluted procedures. He emphasized that the new project was a high-priority "advanced project" from the US HQ and believed it would enhance her ability to manage her existing projects. He told her she could decline but implied that Miss Guo would advise her not to waste such a valuable opportunity.
Su Yunjin accepted the new assignment but requested that Mr Xu not harbor any prejudice against Miss Guo, acknowledging Miss Guo's significant contributions and dedication to MD Network. Mr Xu responded philosophically, stating that in the workplace, there was no room for "prejudice," only alignment of individual perspectives with company objectives. Concurrently, Zhang Yue was informed by Manager Su that her father had put Manager Su in full charge of the Paipai project.
Zhang Yue was enraged, accusing her father of taking advantage of their vulnerable position. Shen Juan urged her to calm down, accepting blame for the project's shortcomings and insisting there was still an opportunity to rectify things. Zhang Yue, however, was resolute in confronting her father, accusing him of "burning bridges" and fearing he would next attempt to oust Shen Juan from Hengkai.
Shen Juan intervened, stopping her and offering to face Zhang Jinmeng himself, believing that her father would still show some apprehension towards him. He expressed his desire to not always rely on Zhang Yue for protection, emphasizing that he needed to be able to protect himself before he could truly protect her. Zhang Yue remained worried, offering to go in if Shen Juan's attempt failed.
Shen Juan, however, reassured her, even jokingly suggesting he could just "be jobless and depend on her." He instructed her to wait downstairs, asserting his belief that Zhang Jinmeng was ultimately a reasonable man. Inside, Zhang Jinmeng, having been informed of the Paipai project handover, was furious, declaring he would personally oversee it and explicitly forbidding Zhang Yue from interfering. Just then, Shen Juan calmly entered Zhang Jinmeng's office.
Shen Juan entered Zhang Jinmeng's office, but the Chairman, full of disdain, simply asked who he was and told him to report to his department manager. Shen Juan persisted, clarifying that he was there to discuss the Paipai project, which he had always overseen. Zhang Jinmeng cut him off, declaring the project no longer his concern and ordering him to leave, even threatening to call security.
Shen Juan then provocatively mentioned "dignity," but Zhang Jinmeng remained uninterested until Shen Juan stated his visit concerned Zhang Yue. Zhang Jinmeng then accused Shen Juan of using his daughter, claiming his "trick won't work on me." Shen Juan denied deceiving or harming Zhang Yue, explaining that his primary concern was Zhang Yue’s deep emotional investment in the Paipai project.
He argued that Zhang Jinmeng’s desire to cultivate Zhang Yue's interest in the company would be undermined by taking away her most cherished project. Zhang Jinmeng countered that Hengkai's affairs were a family matter and that even if Zhang Yue stayed, she couldn't protect Shen Juan. Shen Juan then declared, "If you say that it's your family's matter, then, I'm in it too."
Zhang Jinmeng dismissed this as childish, but Shen Juan asserted that his relationship with Zhang Yue was legitimate. He then dramatically presented a marriage certificate, explaining that he had withheld the information earlier because he wanted to achieve enough success to be truly worthy of Zhang Yue. Now, however, he refused to let her be hurt or for her relationship with her father to be strained by continuously protecting him.
Zhang Jinmeng, upon seeing the certificate, was furious and vehemently declared that he would "never agree" to this marriage. Shen Juan calmly responded that his agreement was no longer relevant. Zhang Jinmeng, visibly infuriated, opened the marriage certificate, stood up, and vehemently ordered Shen Juan to leave his office. Shen Juan, however, remained resolute, affirming his love for Zhang Yue and asserting his right as her husband to be involved in family matters.
Just as Zhang Jinmeng’s anger reached a peak, Zhang Yue burst into the office, telling her father to stop, emphasizing that their relationship was theirs alone. Zhang Jinmeng, now doubly enraged, slammed the marriage certificate to the floor, accusing Shen Juan of orchestrating a deceptive emotional scam and referring to the certificate as a "certificate of disgrace."
He disparaged Zhang Yue for her newfound "smartness" and questioned her filial respect, suggesting she would return to him when she became a "joke of the industry." Zhang Yue declared "Enough!" and, grabbing Shen Juan, insisted they leave. As they exited, Zhang Jinmeng, still seething, warned Zhang Yue that no one loved her more than her parents.
Outside, Shen Juan paused, stating to Zhang Jinmeng that while he didn’t need to explain himself to him due to his and Zhang Yue’s mutual trust, as Zhang Yue’s husband, he felt obligated to put her father’s mind at ease.
He then revealed that he had preemptively signed a pre-nuptial agreement with a lawyer, stipulating that if he ever betrayed Zhang Yue, he would claim none of her or Zhang Jinmeng’s assets, nor any profits from the company since their marriage. He added that the agreement was being notarized and would be available for review the following day, assuring Zhang Jinmeng he was not lying.
Zhang Yue, distressed by this revelation, told Shen Juan he didn’t need to prove anything to others, but Shen Juan insisted it was a promise to her and a way to reassure her parents. Zhang Jinmeng, with a sarcastic remark about Shen Juan’s cunning, ordered them both out, promising Shen Juan that he would not easily forgive him.
Undeterred, Zhang Yue then announced to the stunned company employees that she and Shen Juan were now officially married, "legal husband and wife." She boldly declared that anyone disapproving should avoid contact with them, and cheerfully added that she would be distributing wedding candies the next day. In a separate development, Meng Xue was on a phone call with Cheng Zheng, who was excitedly hinting at a surprise for her that evening.
Meng Xue, distracted by some data she found inconsistent with information from the US market, quickly brushed off Cheng Zheng's questions and assured him she would finish work on time. As Su Yunjin approached, Meng Xue ended the call abruptly, implying she wanted to keep her conversation with Cheng Zheng private from Su Yunjin. Meng Xue was on her way to meet Mr Xu, and she was surprised to find Su Yunjin already there.
Mr Xu formally introduced Su Yunjin as the new project liaison, instructing Meng Xue to contact her for all project-related matters, and that Su Yunjin would escalate issues to him. Meng Xue expressed surprise at being reassigned so quickly after Mr Xu's return but he merely stated that as classmates, they were already familiar with each other.
Meng Xue agreed to contact Su Yunjin for work and then left, but later she had a private conversation with Mr Xu, directly questioning if he was "bullying" her by pairing her with Su Yunjin. Mr Xu denied this. Meng Xue then pointed out Mr Xu's meticulous habit of thoroughly researching all aspects of a project, including personnel and their relationships, strongly implying he was aware of her and Su Yunjin’s complicated past, particularly concerning Cheng Zheng.
Mr Xu smiled, acknowledging her astuteness while playfully calling her "like a child." He stressed that work should be separate from personal feelings and admitted that he had indeed investigated their backgrounds and even met the "boy" who had been the cause of their multi-year entanglement. Meng Xue resignedly stated that Cheng Zheng was already with someone else, so her anger was futile.
Mr Xu then shared his philosophy: if two people are truly meant to be, no one can separate them; if they are not, it's better for them to experience a relationship to definitively resolve their feelings, as the possibility of being together would always linger if they never tried. When Meng Xue asked for clarification, Mr Xu explained that he was offering life wisdom to help her.
He elaborated that by working closely with Su Yunjin now, Meng Xue could observe their situation unfold towards an outcome she desired. If she still had other plans after that, it would be her own concern, emphasizing that there was no need to deliberately strain relationships. He then offered her tea.
