Resumen del episodio 26 de Never Gone
> Resúmenes de Never Gone
Su Yunjin was at the hospital, concerned for her mother who had fainted. While there, she requested a certificate to collect a free lunch for her mother. She also inquired about the price of a body check-up package, learning it cost RMB 2000 for one, with a discount for two. A nurse, noting this, commented on her boyfriend's kindness in caring for her parents.
Su Yunjin also realized the check-up package Cheng Zheng had bought for her mother and Uncle Ding was quite expensive, making her feel uneasy. Shortly after, Cheng Zheng arrived, having just concluded a business meeting. Su Yunjin informed him that her mother had fainted, though it thankfully turned out to be a false alarm.
Su Yunjin questioned why he wasn't at work, and he explained he wanted her mother and Uncle Ding to have a thorough check-up, as they hadn't had one in years, and he felt the cost was negligible. Su Yunjin pressed him, asking if he was using his family's money and promising to repay him from her next salary, emphasizing her desire to avoid an "unfair relationship" between them.
Cheng Zheng, frustrated, reminded her that "she" had repeatedly told "him" about avoiding such an unfair relationship, but "she" never truly acted on her own words. He clarified that he was actually at a meeting for his "own" design project, which had garnered significant interest. He planned to use the money he earned from it to care for her parents, asserting it was his right as her official boyfriend.
They then decided to get some food for her mother and Uncle Ding. Elsewhere, Jin Zi attempted to confess his feelings to Mo Yuhua in a romantically decorated restaurant. As he began, Mo Yuhua received a text message and, after apologizing for the interruption, he continued, telling her he knew he had shortcomings but would work hard to improve.
Before he could finish asking her to be his girlfriend, Mo Yuhua, still holding onto her feelings for Zhou Ziyi, abruptly stopped him, claiming she had to work overtime at the hospital and hastily left. Jin Zi’s companion later remarked that his choice of music might have startled her. Later, as Su Yunjin’s mother and Uncle Ding prepared to return home, Cheng Zheng accompanied them to the station.
Uncle Ding asked Cheng Zheng to call if they needed anything and gently inquired if he had quarreled with Su Yunjin. Cheng Zheng assured him it was a minor disagreement, explaining Su Yunjin was simply worried about her mother, and apologized for his own behavior. Su Yunjin’s mother, speaking privately to her daughter, praised Cheng Zheng, noting his compassionate nature.
While acknowledging he could be childish, she emphasized that he genuinely loved Su Yunjin, and finding someone who truly cared for her was more important than seeking perfection. She entrusted Su Yunjin to Cheng Zheng, who jokingly promised to "complete the mission" and listen to Su Yunjin. As they drove away, Cheng Zheng mentioned Zhou Ziyi’s dinner party that night, offering to pick her up after work.
Su Yunjin, feeling tired, initially wanted to skip it, but Cheng Zheng insisted she go, hinting at a major announcement. He called it a "surprise" for her but a "nightmare" for Mo Yuhua, revealing that Zhou Ziyi was married. Su Yunjin was shocked and worried for Mo Yuhua. Cheng Zheng admitted he had tried to talk to Zhou Ziyi but concluded there was nothing he could do since Zhou Ziyi didn't love Mo Yuhua.
He suggested they prevent Mo Yuhua from attending and tell her the news gently later. When Su Yunjin asked who Zhou Ziyi married, Cheng Zheng reminded her of Chen Jie Jie, the woman they met at the farmhouse who had previously called off her wedding. He then quickly changed the subject. Back at MD Network, Su Yunjin apologized to Xu Zhiheng for her tardiness in picking up Chuck the previous day, offering to meet him at his hotel.
Xu Zhiheng informed her that Chuck had already departed for the United States, rendering any attempt to reach him futile. He explained Chuck’s strong emphasis on punctuality and respect for his habits, suggesting Su Yunjin had "embarrassed him very badly." Su Yunjin expressed regret for not being aware of Chuck’s habits and asked when he might return. Xu Zhiheng dismissed the need to apologize or try to please Chuck, explaining his philosophy of utilizing individual strengths.
He even complimented Su Yunjin on her "remarkable" use of Chuck's characteristics. His subordinate questioned why Xu Zhiheng returned from the US if he was doing so well there. Xu Zhiheng stated that his career path in the US wasn’t what he truly desired, and his current "biggest project" was Chuck himself. He had extended an offer for Chuck to join his company in China, giving him time to consider this significant decision.
He assured his subordinate that Chuck would either protect him if interested in the offer or protect the ongoing project if not, so there was no risk of negative reports to Chuck's company headquarters. Xu Zhiheng also instructed that information regarding a potential collaboration with a Hong Kong company, his true target, should be gradually given to Su Yunjin to prevent her from discovering his actual intentions.
He admitted that his decision to utilize Su Yunjin in this plan was based more on intuition than concrete reasons. Later, Su Yunjin called Mo Yuhua, asking if she was busy. Mo Yuhua confirmed she was on a break. Su Yunjin hesitantly brought up Mo Yuhua's past statement about "loving him being a happy thing."
Mo Yuhua responded that she only said that because Su Yunjin had encouraged her to give up, acknowledging that Zhou Ziyi not loving her wasn't his fault. Su Yunjin then gently probed if Mo Yuhua was still unhappy. Sensing Su Yunjin's hesitation to reveal something, Mo Yuhua asked if there was any other matter, but Su Yunjin couldn't bring herself to deliver the news and abruptly ended the call, leaving the unspoken truth hanging.
Mo Yuhua, understanding her friend's struggle, quietly remarked that whether Su Yunjin told her or not, it was "for her own good." Meanwhile, back at MD Network, Su Yunjin's colleague informed her that Xu Zhiheng had approved the Paipai Project, which involved developing mini-games for computers and select smartphones. The colleague shared that Paipai was highly satisfied with their game designs and expected a launch within two weeks. However, the budget would not be restored.
Instead, promotion and marketing responsibilities would be transferred to Hengkai, whose project manager, Shen Juan, was in a relationship with Zhang Yue, Hengkai's general manager. The colleague speculated that given some recent "family fallout" over their relationship, Shen Juan would be highly motivated to prove himself to Hengkai, ensuring they would enthusiastically handle the marketing, saving MD Network considerable funds while retaining core control of the project.
Su Yunjin noted that this strategy mirrored Xu Zhiheng's philosophy of leveraging others' strengths. The colleague confirmed that Shen Juan would attend a meeting that afternoon. At Hengkai, Shen Juan informed Zhang Yue that he was heading to MD Network for the Paipai Project, determined to gradually take the lead. Zhang Yue, weary of the constant corporate infighting and struggles with her father, suggested they leave the company altogether and open a bar.
She offered her savings and network, proposing a life free from family influence and corporate pressures. Shen Juan, however, was resolute in staying at Hengkai. He reassured her that he had spoken to the chairman and would protect her from stress, urging her to relax with music and promising to book a restaurant for dinner after his meeting. Shortly after, Shen Juan received an urgent call from his mother, who was distressed.
She had been trying to earn some extra money by working for a family but accidentally broke an expensive vase, leading to a demand for over one hundred thousand yuan in compensation. Shen Juan, assuring her he would handle it and find a solution, promised to call back as he was busy. Back at Su Yunjin’s old dorm, Cheng Zheng was helping her move out.
Her roommate playfully lamented being the last one remaining and remarked on Su Yunjin's luck with handsome men helping her. She intentionally left Su Yunjin's bed unpacked, suggesting it could be a place to return. Cheng Zheng jokingly asked if this was for "quarreling and going back home," to which the roommate replied that he just needed to take good care of Su Yunjin.
Cheng Zheng, however, firmly declared to the roommate that he would be Su Yunjin's "only man" and she wouldn't need to return. He also took a plant she had left behind, promising to care for it. Upon arriving at his place with Su Yunjin’s belongings, a delivery man brought a package for him, which he helped carry inside. Cheng Zheng reflected that while it wasn't a new house, it marked a "new beginning."
Later, at MD Network, Su Yunjin encountered Shen Juan. She congratulated him on his marriage, though noting they hadn't held the wedding ceremony yet, and casually mentioned that she and Uncle Ding had nearly collected the money they owed him, offering to transfer it if he provided his bank details. Just then, Cheng Zheng arrived with a bouquet of flowers for Su Yunjin. Seeing her with Shen Juan, he became visibly jealous.
After Shen Juan left, Cheng Zheng, still fuming, demanded that Su Yunjin report every encounter she had with Shen Juan, even a brief glance, fearing he might have "ulterior motives." Su Yunjin reminded him that Shen Juan was married to his sister, Chen Jie Jie, and urged him to trust her. Cheng Zheng retorted that he didn’t trust Shen Juan.
Su Yunjin, exasperated, sarcastically offered to report every minute detail of her day, including her meals and even her breathing, which Cheng Zheng quickly dismissed, acknowledging his own hypocrisy. That evening, Zhou Ziyi hosted a dinner with Cheng Zheng, Su Yunjin, Mo Yuhua, Jin Zi, and Meng Xue. Mo Yuhua was drinking heavily. Cheng Zheng attempted to stop Zhou Ziyi from drinking, suggesting they leave, but Zhou Ziyi insisted he had an important announcement to make.
Addressing Mo Yuhua, Zhou Ziyi thanked her profusely for her "unwavering" support and help over the years, admitting he might not have graduated without her. As a token of his gratitude, he presented her with an intricately designed necklace, hoping she would like it. Mo Yuhua's face lit up with a momentary, bright smile. However, Zhou Ziyi then announced that he was married, and his new wife, Chen Jie Jie, was at home resting because she was pregnant.
He added that the wedding would be in a few days and expected everyone to attend. Mo Yuhua’s smile instantly vanished, her eyes losing their sparkle. With a trembling hand, she raised her glass, expressing that she was "especially happy" to hear his good news and wished him eternal happiness. She tried to return the necklace, saying it was "too expensive."
As she continued to drink excessively, Cheng Zheng, unable to bear watching her pain, pulled Zhou Ziyi out of the room. He angrily confronted Zhou Ziyi, accusing him of intentionally hurting Mo Yuhua. Zhou Ziyi defended himself by saying he had considered her feelings, just as Cheng Zheng had advised, and that he had put a lot of effort into finding the necklace. Cheng Zheng scoffed, saying Zhou Ziyi was only considering his "own" feelings.
Zhou Ziyi retorted, questioning if Cheng Zheng had ever considered Meng Xue's feelings. He asserted that while Mo Yuhua's feelings for him were her own business, he treated her solely as a friend, and he had explicitly told Meng Xue that he didn't encourage her affection or ask her for anything.
