Pei Qian breaks the "mental barrier" of the former Sky Fire employees by showing them surveillance footage to prove he is aware they have been faking overtime. He reassures them that Tengda will never tolerate the toxic internal friction and exhaustion they previously endured. However, Pei Qian has a different plan for Zhou Muyan and Zhao Xuming. To give them a taste of their own medicine, he has Wei Dongli implement a rigid management style specifically for them.

Wei Dongli waits up all night to ensure they are the only ones required to clock in, marking them late at 8:01 AM. He even monitors their bathroom breaks, reminding a frustrated Zhou Muyan that the ten-minute limit was a rule Zhou himself had originally created. Pei Qian further tightens the leash by installing a dedicated surveillance camera for Zhou, demanding daily work logs and forbidding personal mobile phone use during work hours.

Per Pei Qian's orders, Zhou Muyan gives a presentation to the staff analyzing the failure of the game "Eternal Reincarnation". When he tries to hide behind corporate platitudes, Wei Dongli demands the truth. Zhou Muyan then drops his facade, accusing Pei Qian of being unethical and infiltrating Sky Fire to steal trade secrets.

However, the former Sky Fire employees defend Pei Qian, arguing that their previous company failed because it mindlessly copied Tengda’s "Returning to Shore" without understanding its cultural spirit. They criticize Zhou and Zhao for being more interested in "downward regulation and upward management" than actually making good games. Feeling humiliated by this defiance, Zhao Xuming convinces Zhou Muyan to quit on the spot.

Although this means they forfeit their full compensation, Pei Qian finds the "revenge" surprisingly tasteless, noting that there are many more people like Zhou Muyan in the business world. Following the resignations, Xin Hailu presents the settlement for the Sky Fire acquisition. To Pei Qian's delight, while other Tengda projects are thriving, the acquisition itself resulted in a loss.

Under their agreement, Pei Qian converts these losses into personal bonuses, allowing him to pay back Ma Yang and celebrate the reinstatement of his designated driver account. Meanwhile, Xin Hailu expresses concern to Mr. Sima that Pei Qian seems to be "lying flat" by focusing on menial tasks like cleaning and driving.

Mr. Sima compares the situation to a game of checkers, explaining that once a game has begun and enough "bridges" are built, the momentum will inevitably carry the player toward the goal, whether they want to stop or not. The scene shifts to Fingle, where the new leader Eric—whose father is a long-time friend of Zhou Muyan—recruits Zhou to lead their transition from game publishing to self-development.

Their first project, "Infinite Imagination", is set to launch at the same time as Tengda’s new massive multiplayer online game, "The Divine Mountains and Seas". Back at Tengda, the team prepares for a closed beta. Huang Sibo returns to help, and Wei Dongli even takes a break from his scriptwriting to participate.

During the test, the team is so immersed in the vibrant world—featuring unique combat mechanics and a casual "dragon egg hatching" mode—that they mistake the cold draft on their necks for a "4D" glacier dungeon effect, only to realize Pei Qian is standing behind them, staring ominously. Pei Qian is deeply disturbed by how high-quality the game is, fearing its success will bring him unavoidable profit. Later, Lin Wan invites him to dinner to thank him for his support.

She notices his lack of joy and incorrectly assumes he is a tormented perfectionist who is never satisfied with success. Unable to explain his true motives, an exhausted Pei Qian falls asleep on her sofa. The next morning, a panicked Ma Yang calls the police after finding Pei Qian missing. The officers track him to Lin Wan’s apartment, leading to an awkward encounter when the two emerge together.

A month later, "The Divine Mountains and Seas" officially launches, but the celebration at the M&Y Internet Cafe is quickly dampened. Fingle has launched "Infinite Imagination" simultaneously and initiated a targeted smear campaign. Viral videos accuse Tengda of poaching Wei Dongli, a "core member" from Sky Fire, and mock Lin Wan as a wealthy heiress with average abilities. The campaign labels Tengda’s new game a boring copycat and questions where the company’s budget is actually going. As public sentiment turns hostile, Pei Qian watches the unfolding chaos, aware that he is once again caught in a fierce commercial battle.
