A year after her father's death, Bai Jiaojiao visited Fu's Diner, having heard of its reputation, and was surprised to find Fu Zi running it. Fu Zi, who hadn't heard from Bai Jiaojiao in a long time, inquired about her life. Bai Jiaojiao, dressed in sportswear and looking refreshed and vibrant, revealed she was past her prime as an actress but found stopping to enjoy life a good choice, and was soon to be married.
She ordered many dishes, a stark contrast to her previous dieting self who wouldn't even eat stinky tofu, explaining she was making up for past restrictions. She also informed Fu Zi that both she and Hao Zeyu had terminated their contracts with Shi Rujing. She collected a book full of diverse life stories from customers of all ages, listening to their vivid descriptions and staying up many nights to write them down with tears and laughter. These stories were filled with the passage of time. She entrusted Xin Ling to deliver the collection to Hao Zeyu. Hao Zeyu, upon receiving the stories, cherished the book all day, finding it greatly helpful.
