An awkward atmosphere lingered during a shared meal, seemingly preventing everyone from returning to their former familial comfort. To ease the tension, Fu Zi prompted her father, Fu Papa, to speak. Fu Papa told Hao Zeyu he was welcome to come home for dinner anytime. After the meal, Fu Zi told Hao Zeyu that his method of directly offering money was inappropriate. Hao Zeyu explained that after much thought, he felt giving money was the most practical solution.

He had initially presented red packets for Niu Meili and Fu Papa, which Niu Meili accepted, but Fu Papa stubbornly ate, barely looking at Hao Zeyu, before reluctantly accepting the situation due to Fu Zi's efforts to liven the mood. Hao Zeyu, who was set to officially join Shi Rujing's company that day, then gave Fu Zi a bank card, stating he would deposit all his future earnings there, intending for them to buy a house together.

Fu Zi initially refused, having just criticized his money-giving approach, but agreed after Hao Zeyu presented various reasons. A week later, Fu Zi received a letter from Hao Zeyu, who was now constantly busy shooting magazines and participating in various events. After Hao Zeyu left, Niu Meili became lethargic, spending her days sleeping in bed.

Ren Jiajia, after making Niu Meili lunch, was preparing for her English tutoring class when Niu Meili received a call informing her that her house lease was expiring and she needed to move out if she didn't renew. Fu Zi felt lost without Hao Zeyu. Ren Jiajia, passing by, told Fu Zi and Fu Papa about Niu Meili's current state and her impending eviction.

She warned them to tell Hao Zeyu to be careful of Shi Rujing, as she felt Shi Rujing was not simple. Ren Jiajia also mentioned that Zhao Xiaobei had betrayed Niu Meili, leaving Niu Meili in a terrifying state, similar to how Teng Dan had been. Ren Jiajia urged Fu Papa to cherish relationships and not wait until it was too late. Her words deeply moved Fu Papa, who immediately went to Niu Meili's house.

Niu Meili appeared even more despondent, lamenting that after half a lifetime, she was still alone. Fu Papa, seemingly nonchalantly, asked, "Aren't I still here?" Back home, Fu Zi had prepared dinner and sternly questioned Fu Papa about his whereabouts. Fu Papa remained silent, but Fu Zi knew he had gone to Niu Meili, and she did not object, understanding Niu Meili needed companionship.

Fu Papa suggested that if Niu Meili couldn't find a place, she could stay with Fu Zi. Fu Zi promptly refused, countering that Niu Meili could stay with Fu Papa instead. Fu Papa grew flustered, but Fu Zi calmly analyzed the situation, explaining that she used to think "eating grass around the nest" (dating someone close to home/work) was bad, but her relationship with Hao Zeyu had clarified everything for her.

Fu Zi's words sparked an idea in Fu Papa, who the next day called Niu Meili to discuss opening a restaurant. He reasoned that Niu Meili still had money, and it would provide jobs for himself and Fu Zi.

Niu Meili, though hesitant because a previous attempt to open a restaurant in that same rented space had failed due to the lack of a good chef, eventually agreed after Fu Papa offered to be the chef until a new one could be found. Hao Zeyu's schedule became increasingly demanding, often flying between three cities in a single day. Fu Zi, Fu Papa, and Niu Meili, meanwhile, got busy with the restaurant preparations, which included renovations.

With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Hao Zeyu couldn't return, but he and Fu Zi remained connected, longing for each other. He particularly missed their time together on set. Hao Zeyu specially ordered a liquor cabinet for Fu Papa's home. Though Fu Papa grumbled about it, he was secretly just as delighted as Niu Meili.

Fu Zi wrote letters to Hao Zeyu, keeping him updated on family matters, including Ren Jiajia's temporarily postponed overseas plans and her improved relationship with her father, and Fu Zi's new skill of making sauce noodles. Long after Hao Zeyu left, he and Fu Zi finally met for the first time, albeit briefly, on the way to the airport. Hao Zeyu felt particularly guilty during this short encounter, which was interrupted by several work calls.

Fu Zi's heart ached as she watched him get out of the car, surrounded by the continuous cheers of fans. Protected by bodyguards, Hao Zeyu struggled through the crowd. Fu Zi gazed at the increasingly dazzling Hao Zeyu, unable to hide the profound sense of loss in her eyes. Niu Meili's restaurant, Fu's Diner, was prepared in her original rented house. Fu Zi continued to write letters to Hao Zeyu, informing him of these developments.

The relationship between Niu Meili and Fu Papa also grew increasingly intimate. Soon after, Fu's Diner officially opened, with Fu Papa as the head chef and Fu Zi serving as the lobby manager and waitstaff. Business was booming. Hao Zeyu, however, had not been home for a long time, constantly traveling between cities. The distance between Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu grew ever wider, making Fu Zi feel increasingly insecure as his popularity and fan base expanded.

Hao Zeyu realized he hadn't filmed for over a year, instead spending his time on reality shows and advertisements, drifting further from his original ambition as an actor. He finally confronted Shi Rujing, telling her he was an actor and wanted to act, asserting he couldn't accept another reality show. Shi Rujing responded that this was the time for Hao Zeyu to build popularity, assuring him she would naturally recommend good projects.

Hao Zeyu expressed his concern that audiences would forget he was an actor if he remained exclusively on reality shows. Shi Rujing then revealed she had been negotiating a good script for him, but because certain conditions were not yet settled, she wanted him to accept the current reality show. She explained that by the time the reality show aired, the script negotiations would be close to completion, allowing for joint promotion.

Shi Rujing emphasized that every job she selected for him was carefully considered. Hao Zeyu compromised and agreed to continue with the reality show, but requested time off to meet Fu Zi that afternoon. Upon hearing the news that Hao Zeyu was coming home, Fu Zi became so excited that she skipped her own meal and rushed to make sauce noodles for him. Fu Papa couldn't help but feel jealous.

As Hao Zeyu was on his way home, Shi Rujing called him repeatedly. He initially didn't want to answer but eventually did. Shi Rujing instructed him to immediately turn back to the airport, explaining she had secured an event for him where he would replace a prestigious "film emperor." This opportunity, she stressed, would draw attention to him in the film and television industry.

Hao Zeyu was conflicted but, after considering, made the difficult decision to turn the car around and head to the airport. He sighed as he complied, later entering the waiting room with Bai Jiajiao amidst cheering fans. Hao Zeyu complained to Bai Jiajiao that he only wanted to act and not constantly do reality shows and advertisements. Bai Jiajiao told him that Shi Rujing valued commercial potential over pure acting talent, and Hao Zeyu possessed significant commercial value.

She frankly stated that while his acting skills weren't yet at the highest level, his current popularity meant Shi Rujing would never allow him to prioritize acting roles. Bai Jiajiao expressed regret for facilitating Hao Zeyu's collaboration with Shi Rujing, noting that work should be enjoyable, but Hao Zeyu now seemed unhappy. She observed that Hao Zeyu was very much like her past self—full of dreams, plans, and a self-righteous stubbornness.

She advised him to do what he truly loved and listen to his heart, asserting that work should be a source of joy, not compromise. Fu Zi sadly delivered the news to Fu Papa that Hao Zeyu wouldn't be able to come home. Fu Papa was furious, and Fu Zi forced a smile.

Fu Papa angrily chastised Fu Zi for her "repressed" and "coldly treated" relationship, pointing out that Hao Zeyu had rarely returned in over a year and Fu Zi saw him less often than his fans did. In a fit of anger, Fu Papa demanded that Fu Zi break up with Hao Zeyu and even grabbed Fu Zi's phone, intending to call him, stating that such a secretive and hidden relationship would displease anyone who saw it.
