At the movie's launch press conference, a chaotic fan activity resulted in cake being smeared all over Hao Zeyu's expensive suit. Hao Zeyu felt they had unfairly stolen the spotlight from the lead actors, especially Bai Jiaojiao. He expressed his disdain for such attention-grabbing stunts, stating he wanted to be recognized for his acting skills, not as a clown.
Fu Zi, who had orchestrated the surprise birthday celebration to generate buzz for Hao Zeyu, argued that such promotion was necessary for him to gain recognition. Zhao Xiaobei, who had borrowed the high-end suit for Hao Zeyu, was furious about its ruined condition. He chastised Fu Zi, explaining that such first-tier brand garments couldn't be washed and were meant for single use, making it difficult for him to borrow from the brand again.
Hao Zeyu, however, dismissed the suit as merely clothing, questioning if he should worship it. Defiantly, Zhao Xiaobei stormed off to report the incident to Niu Meili. Meanwhile, Bai Jiaojiao, visibly annoyed, reiterated to Xin Ling that genuine acting talent, not cheap tricks, was what truly mattered. Later, Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi approached Bai Jiaojiao to apologize, with Hao Zeyu taking responsibility for Fu Zi's unplanned stunt.
Bai Jiaojiao advised him to focus on his acting career rather than resorting to gimmicks. Zhao Xiaobei then presented the ruined suit to Niu Meili. He insisted it wasn't about the money, but about the disrespectful attitude. Niu Meili, however, immediately transferred 10,000 yuan to him as a gesture of sincerity.
Zhao Xiaobei, still distraught, shared a dramatic account of a recent fire alarm incident where he, in his underwear, prioritized saving the borrowed clothes over his own safety, questioning the ridiculousness of it all. Niu Meili was deeply moved, expressing understanding for his passion, seeing clothes as a profound connection to the world. Zhao Xiaobei felt she truly understood him. Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi were outraged that Niu Meili had paid Zhao Xiaobei and let him keep the suit.
Hao Zeyu sarcastically asked if her brain had been "crushed by a door." Niu Meili defended her actions, revealing that Zhao Xiaobei had agreed to provide two free styling sessions for Hao Zeyu. She also openly admitted her strong fondness for Zhao Xiaobei, describing him as a "good kid" from a wealthy family who shared her appreciation for beauty. Hao Zeyu remained unconvinced, suspicious of Zhao Xiaobei's motives.
Frustrated by Niu Meili's infatuation, Hao Zeyu confided in Fu Zi that he suspected the "first-tier" suit was fake because he had developed a rash from wearing it. Fu Zi initially dismissed his concerns, teasing him about being overly delicate and pointing out his own wardrobe contained many knockoffs. The next day, Hao Zeyu confronted Zhao Xiaobei at his office.
Zhao Xiaobei, wearing the very same "borrowed" suit, brazenly admitted it was fake, arguing that for Hao Zeyu's status, appearances were what mattered. Enraged, Hao Zeyu forced Zhao Xiaobei to strip out of the suit and dramatically threw it out of the window. He warned Zhao Xiaobei that while he would let Niu Meili's money go as a "charity donation," he would severely retaliate if he ever dared to trick anyone close to him again.
Zhao Xiaobei, denying he had kept the money, retaliated by overpowering Hao Zeyu, tying him to a clothes rack, and leaving him shirtless. He explained his dilemma: he couldn't bring himself to give Niu Meili counterfeits after her genuine efforts to get the clothes. He also questioned Hao Zeyu's morals, arguing that wearing fakes to project a confident image was not a crime.
Niu Meili and Fu Zi arrived at the Fashion Building shortly after, shocked to see the damaged suit lying discarded downstairs. As Niu Meili called Zhao Xiaobei, Hao Zeyu's frantic shouts for help echoed from inside. They rushed upstairs to find Hao Zeyu tied to a clothes rack, his face bruised. Fu Zi was horrified that Zhao Xiaobei had injured Hao Zeyu's face so close to the movie's production.
Niu Meili explained that Zhao Xiaobei had secretly returned the 10,000 yuan via Alipay. Hao Zeyu, despite his injuries, vehemently warned Niu Meili to stay away from Zhao Xiaobei, insisting he was "not a simple man." Ignoring Hao Zeyu's warning, Niu Meili visited Zhao Xiaobei the following day. She apologized for the previous day's chaos but then sternly demanded an explanation for hitting Hao Zeyu, pointing out that it could ruin his acting career.
Zhao Xiaobei countered that Hao Zeyu had attacked first and his "fists had no eyes." He then warned Niu Meili that Hao Zeyu's volatile personality would eventually lead to severe setbacks, as the entertainment industry tends to "smooth out" all strong personalities. Niu Meili defiantly stated she would educate her "talent" herself. Zhao Xiaobei, acknowledging Niu Meili's efforts, reluctantly agreed that he would not have worked with Hao Zeyu again if it weren't for her.
Niu Meili thanked him, then instructed him to pay for her coffee. Later, as Fu Zi carefully applied an egg to Hao Zeyu's bruised face, he continued to complain about Zhao Xiaobei's brutality. Fu Zi reminded him of Zhao Xiaobei's Taekwondo black belt and the importance of healing for the movie. Niu Meili secretly called Fu Zi, revealing that Zhao Xiaobei had agreed to handle all of Hao Zeyu's styling for the movie and airport shows for free.
She urged Fu Zi to convince Hao Zeyu to apologize to Zhao Xiaobei, emphasizing the difficulty of securing such a deal. Hao Zeyu initially refused, suspicious of Zhao Xiaobei's sudden generosity. However, he eventually agreed to meet Zhao Xiaobei for dinner, not to apologize, but to uncover his true intentions. Fu Zi arranged a casual dinner at their local BBQ joint. As the movie shoot approached, Niu Meili grew sentimental about Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi being away for months.
She tried to persuade Fu's father to join them, but he refused, citing he was busy with his driving work. At the dinner, Fu Zi tried to diffuse the tension, but Hao Zeyu maintained a confrontational attitude with Zhao Xiaobei, leading to another argument. Gu Dapeng arrived with gifts for Fu's father. Niu Meili impulsively booked flights and hotels, attempting to trick Gu Dapeng into joining them, but Fu's father angrily sent him away.
Fu's father, despite his tough exterior, was heartbroken by the thought of Fu Zi leaving, acknowledging she needed to experience life independently, even though it pained him. During the dinner, Hao Zeyu directly questioned Zhao Xiaobei's motives for offering free styling, jokingly asking if he had a crush on Fu Zi. Zhao Xiaobei, unfazed, explained that as a wealthy individual, he was not motivated by money but by the thrill of a challenge.
He saw Hao Zeyu as an opportunity to prove his skills without relying on connections. The conversation left Fu Zi feeling emotional and reflective, sharing her own dreams: a smooth life, a healthy family, and dancing with her idol in the snow. Hao Zeyu reflected on his past aspirations, from achieving academic success to winning talent competitions, and his deep wish for Teng Dan's return or to rectify past regrets. He remained silent about his current dream.
Back home, Hao Zeyu showed Fu Zi a collection of fake branded clothes Teng Dan had bought for him in the past, admitting he rarely wore them because he didn't want Teng Dan to think he was desperate. Fu Zi, understanding, quietly cut off the brand tags, transforming them into simply "nice clothes." As Fu Zi began packing for the movie shoot, her father, visibly upset but feigning indifference, urged her to leave quickly, hiding his inner turmoil.
