Fu Zi's father, Fu Zi, and Hao Zeyu initially left Niu Meili, planning to return with money to save her from creditors. In the car, Fu Zi expressed her anger about leaving Niu Meili behind. Hao Zeyu, feeling increasingly uneasy, asked Fu Zi's father to stop under the pretense of needing to use the restroom. After a long time, Hao Zeyu didn't return. Fu Zi's father understood Hao Zeyu had gone back and told Fu Zi to call the police.

Meanwhile, the creditors were threatening and tormenting Niu Meili, even forcing her to shave her hair. Hao Zeyu returned alone, kicked open the door, grabbed a golf club, and started fighting them. Fu Zi's father and Fu Zi also rushed back, grabbing sticks to help Hao Zeyu. A chaotic brawl ensued until police sirens were heard. The police arrived, saving the four.

The debt collectors were taken away for privately detaining and assaulting Niu Meili, as "paying debts is right and proper, but detaining and assaulting someone privately is not." After completing their statements, it was dark, and their car broke down halfway back to Beijing. Fu Zi's father asked someone to get out and hold a flashlight for him to fix the car.

Fu Zi was about to get out, but Niu Meili intervened, telling Fu Zi to stay in the car, and then got out herself to help Fu Zi's father. While fixing the car, Niu Meili, with a dirty but proud face, asked Fu Zi's father if he came back to save her or Hao Zeyu, implying that saving her would show some conscience. Fu Zi's father deliberately said he came to save Hao Zeyu, which displeased Niu Meili.

She complained that Fu Zi's father couldn't say nice things to cheer her up. Fu Zi's father then sternly scolded Niu Meili, calling her a "disaster" and telling her to stay away from his daughter, Fu Zi, in the future, stating that if it weren't for her, none of this would have happened. He also bitterly urged Niu Meili to be down-to-earth, detesting her affectations and her inability to make things easy for him.

Feeling deeply wronged and angry, Niu Meili threatened to leave. However, Fu Zi's father quickly pulled her back, reminding her that he had to bring everyone back safely, and instructed her to continue holding the flashlight. Niu Meili secretly chuckled, knowing Fu Zi's father was worried about her. The car remained unfixed, prompting Fu Zi's father to call for roadside assistance. He then instructed Hao Zeyu to retrieve some drinks, alcohol, and snacks from the car.

The four of them moved to a deserted spot, made a fire, and had a barbecue. Around the bonfire, they shared laughs and conversations, celebrating their survival and Hao Zeyu's first movie. Fu Zi mentioned how the director had praised Hao Zeyu in front of the media. Hao Zeyu revealed he had even prepared an acceptance speech, fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming an actor, though he never aimed for great fame.

He explained that ten years had passed, and he still viewed his work as just a job. He also promised that once he had money, he would buy Niu Meili a bag, Fu Zi a pile of delicious food, and renovate Fu Zi's father's taxi. Hao Zeyu often fantasized about his movies winning awards and helping his partners fulfill their dreams. They even improvised an awards ceremony.

Despite the car breakdown, the atmosphere became increasingly cheerful, and the group found a unique happiness playing around in the suburbs, their recent difficult experiences fading away like bubbles. Fu Zi thanked Hao Zeyu, surprised he would fight so hard for someone he had known for only a few months. She looked at Hao Zeyu's IOUs in her ledger and had developed different feelings for him after spending so much time together, though sometimes he felt very distant and unreal.

She worried that he might leave after repaying his debts. She couldn't even determine if they were friends, let alone consider other relationships. Meanwhile, Hao Zeyu was conflicted about whether to call Fu Zi. He eventually mustered the courage to dial her number from a ladder, bottle of wine in hand, and asked her to look at the beautiful moon that night, a phrase someone had once equated to "I like you." He then sincerely thanked Fu Zi.

However, Fu Zi, oblivious to any romantic undertone, instead brought up Teng Dan, wondering why Hao Zeyu couldn't reconcile with her, whom he had known for ten years, and hoping he would forgive her. Teng Dan had always been a thorn in Hao Zeyu's heart. Hao Zeyu chuckled, stating he had long ago forgiven Teng Dan, and then hung up, leaving Fu Zi confused about whether he had truly forgiven her.

Niu Meili contacted the production team for the final payment for Hao Zeyu's movie but was informed that their capital chain had broken, rendering the movie completely abandoned and its release date indefinitely far off due to lack of funds. Niu Meili and Fu Zi were very anxious and distressed. Hao Zeyu tried to comfort them, optimistically claiming that he was happy just that his first movie had successfully wrapped, viewing it as experience, and that its release didn't matter.

However, everyone knew he was just comforting them, as it represented months of his hard work, and he couldn't possibly be indifferent. Hao Zeyu was deeply self-reproachful and unwilling to accept the situation, believing that if he had tried harder, things might be different. He also knew that showing his disappointment would upset Niu Meili and Fu Zi's father, which would make him feel even more self-reproachful. He encouraged himself to work even harder in the future.

Fu Zi, hearing his meaningful words, reminded him to always remember to thank the person who helped him take his first step, hinting that he should let go of the past and reconcile with Teng Dan. Back home, Hao Zeyu took out the sweater Teng Dan had given him, his heart filled with complex and somber emotions about the past. Later, Fu Zi sat in the courtyard, sighing, and chatted with Fu Zi's father.

She used a hypothetical scenario about Niu Meili suddenly breaking off their friendship without explanation, believing Niu Meili would have a hidden difficulty or unstated suffering. Fu Zi's father understood she was referring to Hao Zeyu and Teng Dan, but stated their situations were different, as Hao Zeyu met Teng Dan right after his debut and struggled alone in Beijing with Teng Dan as his only friend before she suddenly left, which must have made him very sad. Fu Zi then asked her father if he were Hao Zeyu, would he tell Hao Zeyu the reason for leaving.
