Guardians of the Dafeng is a historical drama directed by Deng Ke, led by Dylan Wang, Tian Xiwei, Liu Yijun, and Yan Zidong, co-starring Yue Yang, Zhang Xiaochen, Mao Xiaohui, Fan Shuaiqi, Liu Meihan, Zhang Miaoyi, Feng Hui, Ding Xiaoying, Yan Peirun, Wang Runze, Wang Yiyao, Li Hongtao, Li Mengying, Jiang Zhenyu, Zhang Chenxiao, and Kang Kang, with special appearances by Ni Hongjie, Liu Jun, Fan Shiqi, Du Chun, Qiu Xinzhi, Chen Xiaoyun, and Estelle Chen.
The drama is based on the web novel of the same name written by Mai Bao Xiao Lang Jun. Yang Ling is a modern worker, who travels back in time to become Xu Qi'an, a bell-ringer in the Great Feng Dynasty. Using his modern knowledge and reasoning, he becomes an expert in solving mysterious cases. In the fantasy and complex world of the Great Feng, he and his companions fight against dark forces to protect the stability of the kingdom.

Modern office worker Yang Ling accidentally finds himself transported to the mystical and fantastical Da Feng Dynasty. There, he assumes a new identity as Xu Qi’an, a bronze gong of the night watchmen responsible for supervising officials and solving crimes for the people of Da Feng. Relying on his modern knowledge and reasoning skills, he successfully cracks one bizarre case after another, earning a reputation as the kingdom’s top investigator.
In this world filled with demons, magic, treacherous schemes, and hidden dangers, Xu Qi’an and his like-minded companions choose to face challenges head-on.
