> Resumos de The Company
In 2021, Su Beilu graduates from the College of Veterinary Medicine. His joy is doubled when both he and his best friend, Chun Ge, are hired by the same pet hospital. During the celebration, Su Beilu’s mother expresses her pride, encouraging the two young men to be compassionate doctors who respect all forms of life. Observing from the shadows of time, Bizhi travels back to 2017.
He witnesses a high school-aged Su Beilu and Chun Ge attempting to climb a wall to see a dog named Hua give birth. When Chun Ge sprains his ankle, Su Beilu refuses to leave him, choosing to carry his friend through the front gate even at the risk of being scolded by their teachers. Bizhi then jumps to 2007, where he finds a younger Su Beilu picking on Chun Ge, eventually accidentally locking him in a classroom.
Overcome with guilt, Su Beilu uses a plastic card to pick the lock—a trick he learned from movies—which marks the beginning of their lifelong bond. Through these memories, Bizhi confirms that Su Beilu is not the reincarnation of his old friend, Qin Ziyi. However, a trip to 2005 reveals a shocking connection: Bizhi was the one who pulled a young Su Beilu from a horrific car accident years ago.
Realizing he had unwittingly altered the boy’s destiny, Bizhi begins to see their current meeting as a focal point of fate. In the present, Su Beilu arrives at the antique shop, Yashe, on a rainy night. He had been fired and evicted after exposing a "dog torturer" who brought an injured pet named Tuanzi to the hospital. Having lost his grandmother years prior, Su Beilu is left with nothing but his optimism.
Moved by his resilience, Bizhi allows him to stay the night. The next day, after finding Su Beilu performing free animal clinics despite his own unemployment, Bizhi offers him a formal position as an assistant at Yashe. Su Beilu arrives for his first day of work in an eccentric, self-ordered uniform, which Bizhi immediately orders him to change. While learning the shop's routines, Su Beilu is sternly warned never to enter the restricted room on the upper floor.
To prepare him for inquisitive customers like Master Dong, Bizhi tasks him with studying a book on ancient artifacts. Later, Bizhi uses a time-travel device to take Su Beilu to the past to investigate a woman named Gu Huaijin. They arrive in a desolate graveyard at night, where Su Beilu panics upon seeing Gu Huaijin’s tombstone.
Posing as storytellers the next day, they learn that the Gu family once ran a prestigious escort agency but was decimated in a brutal ambush, leaving only Gu Huaijin’s brother, Gu Bingyu, alive. While the duo investigates, Gu Bingyu leads an escort mission through a dangerous pass. Suspecting a trap, he realizes the wine at a post house is poisoned. He and his men feign being drugged to lure out the attackers—rival agency members posing as bandits.
Gu Bingyu easily overpowers them but intentionally spares a few survivors to send a message: the Gu family remains a powerful force. Upon returning home, Gu Bingyu finds the family’s associate and scholar, Pu Jingtang, still mourning Gu Huaijin. Three years prior, Pu Jingtang had been her teacher, attempting to refine her temperament through the zither. However, Gu Huaijin dreamed of the martial world rather than a traditional life.
Gu Bingyu had secretly supported her, teaching her sword skills and eventually allowing her to join an escort mission, during which she was tragically killed. Pu Jingtang remains bitter, believing Gu Bingyu’s ambition caused her death, while Gu Bingyu silently harbors his own deep-seated plans for revenge.
