While alone at the Fenglin Night Hotel, Zhou Qi questioned Yibo about his recent honesty with the police regarding the fake report letter. Yibo admitted he had followed Zhou Rong’s instructions to tell the truth, but he sensed his boss’s trust was fading. To protect himself, Yibo revealed a "backup plan": on the night Ye Jian died, the captain had specifically asked him about the origins of his watch.
Suspecting the watch was a critical piece of evidence linked to Lu Zheng’s death, Yibo decided it was too dangerous to keep. Meanwhile, Fang Chao and Liu Zhi continued their persistent surveillance of Zhou Rong, though their beat-up vehicle made it difficult to keep up with his luxury car.
