The Best Thing is an urban romance drama directed by Che Liangyi and stars Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan, with Wang Youjun, Tang Jiuzhou, Huang Cancan, and Zhou Yiru in supporting roles.
The series is adapted from Sheng Li's novel "Ai Ni, Shi Wo Zuo Guo Zui Hao De Shi / 爱你，是我做过最好的事." It tells the story of He Suye, a gentle and warm-hearted male doctor, and Shen Xifan, a hotel manager suffering from severe insomnia. Their paths cross unexpectedly through medical appointments and daily life, and they gradually develop feelings for each other. Eventually, through the small moments in daily life, they heal one another and find love, a love scented with the fragrance of herbal medicine.

Sinopsis
Shen Xifan, the hotel room manager, suffers from insomnia due to the intense demands of her job. She meets the Chinese medicine doctor, He Suye, during one of her visits for treatment. Due to her busy work schedule, she often forgets to take her medicine, which frustrates He Suye. Initially, their relationship seems limited to doctor and patient, but they later discover they live in the same neighborhood.
Their repeated, chance encounters allow feelings to blossom between them. Shen Xifan, having been cautious due to a failed first love, slowly begins to open her heart to He Suye, whose kindness and unwavering dedication to his career inspire her to pursue her own dreams. As their hearts draw closer, they eventually become a couple.
