Synopsis
Set in the 1980s, the story follows Lu Ran, a highly intelligent and tough-minded female university student, who is forcibly "married off" by her malicious uncle and aunt for a high bride price to a poor, ugly man with a daughter and a history of domestic violence. Refusing to let fate decide her life, Lu Ran decisively escapes from the arranged marriage. the entreprenurial female character was the only good thing about the series. i love intelligent characters.
