An Chuxia settled into the school dormitory. She received a video call from her old friends, Xiao Nan and Chen Chuan, who were abroad. They inquired about her decision not to go to France as planned, suggesting it was because of Han Qilu. An Chuxia denied this, asserting that the design department at Sheng De College was also excellent.
Internally, she recalled a heated argument with Han Qilu where their trust broke down, leading to cries of "Let's break up," and "Whatever," a memory that still pained her. Han Qilu arrived at the school to register, only to find the classrooms empty. A school staff member informed him that all students were participating in military training.
After learning of his argument with An Chuxia, his mother called, stressing the importance of bringing An Chuxia back and threatening consequences if he failed to do so. His housekeeper further advised him that men who do not pamper women often end up single. However, Han Qilu stubbornly maintained that An Chuxia was his ex-girlfriend and was responsible for her own words, referencing her earlier decision to break up.
An Chuxia and the other freshmen were assembled at the training grounds for their compulsory military training, a long-standing tradition at Sheng De College. Nangong Yin, who had transferred from Sheng De High School, immediately took the opportunity to mock An Chuxia as a "bumpkin." An Chuxia retorted, almost escalating into a full argument.
Their instructor, Bai Xue, a beautiful but stern woman, called everyone to attention, emphasizing that military training was their first step at Sheng De and demanding disciplined behavior from all students. Later, Li Shendong arrived late to the training. When Instructor Bai Xue ordered him to remove his sunglasses, he responded defiantly. Infuriated, Bai Xue announced that all students would be punished with twenty push-ups for Li Shendong's insubordination.
An Chuxia protested, arguing that it was unfair to punish the entire group for one person's actions. Li Shendong, surprised to see An Chuxia, mockingly called her an "exhibitionist." He then asked if she was "into him," to which she responded by calling him a "scum" and "stinking hooligan." He declared he did not want to be punished alongside her and offered to do double the push-ups, resulting in a penalty of two hundred for him.
Other students gossiped about the intensity of their interaction, speculating that An Chuxia and Li Shendong might know each other from before. As the training continued, Li Shendong navigated the exercises with ease, while An Chuxia found them considerably challenging. That night, An Chuxia suffered a nightmare in which Han Qilu abandoned her at their wedding, waking her up in a fright. The next day, the training scores were posted.
Li Shendong’s results were excellent, but An Chuxia’s were notably poor, scoring only fours and fives. Li Shendong seized the opportunity to mock her, implying she used connections to gain admission to Sheng De. An Chuxia retorted, vowing to silence him. The final task of the military training was the CS Reality Competition, where the winner would be crowned the new "Warrior." Li Shendong was confident of claiming this title.
However, Instructor Bai Xue stressed the importance of teamwork, before announcing that An Chuxia, Li Shendong, Sui Bian, and Yuan Su would be on the same team. Both An Chuxia and Li Shendong expressed their displeasure at being paired together. Li Shendong immediately abandoned the team to act alone, prompting An Chuxia to comment that his approach was more like a warlord than a true hero. During the competition, Li Shendong discovered An Chuxia hiding. He taunted her.
An Chuxia again called him a "stinking hooligan" and angrily demanded if he felt any guilt for "what happened the other day." Li Shendong dismissed her question, noting that she was "still alive here," prompting An Chuxia to declare that she would remember his "great kindness" forever. Li Shendong then single-handedly eliminated all other opponents. With only his teammates left, he then "eliminated" An Chuxia, believing he had secured his victory.
However, just as he was about to declare himself champion, Han Qilu emerged from behind and took him out with a surprise attack. Instructor Bai Xue then announced the CS Competition champion. To everyone's surprise, instead of Li Shendong, she declared Han Qilu the winner. Students were astonished by Han Qilu's sudden appearance, as he was a specially enrolled student who had not participated in the earlier training.
While the girls were captivated by his handsome appearance, the male students protested, calling his victory an unfair ambush by an "airdrop soldier" or "wild boy." To resolve the dispute, Bai Xue agreed to a one-on-one fist fight between Han Qilu and Li Shendong.
During the fight, Li Shendong attempted to provoke Han Qilu by making a derogatory comment about a "green cap," hinting at the incident at the beach resort where a foreign woman was mistakenly found in Han Qilu's room. This remark enraged Han Qilu, who then fought fiercely and ultimately emerged victorious. After his victory, Han Qilu's expression towards An Chuxia remained awkward, still remembering the incident at the resort.
An Chuxia received an invitation from Han Qilu to meet, but initially found his tone arrogant and considered not going. Later, while out walking, An Chuxia witnessed Li Shendong and his associates bullying another student. Driven by her strong sense of justice, An Chuxia intervened, accusing Li Shendong of "bullying people" and even "hitting him" during military training. Li Shendong dismissed her, asserting his family owned the school and the island, suggesting she shouldn't try to "reason with me." As they argued, Li Shendong unexpectedly pulled An Chuxia into his arms. This scene was witnessed by Han Qilu, who had followed her there.
