Han Qilu had helped Ming Yuan when she was accused of theft, but he still had to find the missing necklace within three days. Ming Yuan expressed concern to him, asking how he could possibly find it when even the school and police had no clues. Han Qilu assured her he would figure it out. Following this, Ming Yuan asked Han Qilu if she was annoying.
When he denied it and told her not to mind others' nonsense, she hugged him, still questioning what she had done wrong. Han Qilu, though surprised by her embrace, gently told her not to think too much and urged her to return to class before leaving without a backward glance. Ming Yuan, left alone, tearfully thanked him. This scene of them hugging was witnessed by Bai Qiuzi.
Bai Qiuzi was astonished that Ming Yuan had hugged Han Qilu and reported it to An Chuxia, hoping to get a reaction. However, An Chuxia was unconcerned, stating she was the one who asked Han Qilu to help Ming Yuan and was certain there was nothing between them. As the three-day deadline approached, Han Qilu had made no progress in finding the necklace.
Director Long confronted him, expressing dissatisfaction with his lack of evidence and declaring Ming Yuan the primary suspect subject to a school investigation. Just as things escalated, Cui Xia called Director Long, explaining that her son, Chuji, had playfully taken the jewelry from the exhibition by mistake. She had returned it and asked if the case could be closed, clearing Ming Yuan of suspicion. Ming Yuan thanked Han Qilu, but he downplayed his efforts.
As Ming Yuan followed Han Qilu, her feelings for him intensified, and her jealousy towards An Chuxia grew stronger. An Chuxia called Han Qilu, informing him she would be home late because she was still at school with Bai Qiuzi. Han Qilu playfully warned her to be home before midnight or he'd be angry. Later that night, An Chuxia and Bai Qiuzi crept into Bai Xue's office.
Their intention was to place Mr. Guo's love letter there to encourage a romance between Bai Xue and Mr. Guo. To their surprise, they found another confession letter, this one from Yang Xiaochun. After discussing it, An Chuxia decided to place Mr. Guo's letter as well, allowing Bai Xue to make her own choice between the two admirers.
The next day, Bai Xue, dressed up beautifully, met Mr. Guo for dinner, a date An Chuxia and Bai Qiuzi had arranged, anticipating a successful match. At dinner, Bai Xue tried to be proactive, asking Mr. Guo about his hobbies, but he only mentioned drawing and reading. When she revealed her hobby was liking handsome guys, he remained unresponsive.
Bai Xue then asked if he had plans after dinner, to which he simply replied "no" before offering to escort her home, completely missing her subtle invitations for further interaction. Watching their unsuccessful date, An Chuxia and Bai Qiuzi were frustrated, concluding that their efforts were useless and the two teachers would have to work it out on their own.
Later that night, An Chuxia returned home, muttering about Han Qilu and wondering where he was, even fearing he might have moved on. Director Long spotted her near the school and urged her to go home for her safety. When An Chuxia finally entered her dark house, Han Qilu was waiting. He hugged her and asked if she remembered the special date.
An Chuxia initially guessed it was either her or his birthday, but then realized it was their one-year engagement anniversary. Han Qilu then led a blindfolded An Chuxia to a beautifully decorated space. When she removed the blindfold, she was overjoyed and deeply touched by the romantic surprise he had prepared for her. Their romantic moment was abruptly interrupted when Li Shendong and a group of friends burst in, shouting "Surprise!" and singing "Happy Birthday."
They had misunderstood, believing it was An Chuxia's birthday. An Chuxia was amused and asked who had given them the wrong information. Li Shendong sheepishly admitted he thought he had the date wrong after seeing Han Qilu acting mysteriously. Realizing their mistake, the group quickly switched to singing "Happy Anniversary." Ming Yuan, having rushed over after hearing the news of a surprise gathering, arrived late. Seeing An Chuxia surrounded by friends and celebrated, she became enraged.
She left quickly, declining a slice of cake, despite Han Qilu offering to walk her out. Later, while drinking alone, Ming Yuan expressed her bitter disappointment and anger. She revealed she had saved money to buy An Chuxia a gift, believing it was her birthday, only for it to be a misunderstanding that An Chuxia brushed off as a joke.
Her jealousy towards An Chuxia intensified, as she questioned why An Chuxia and Han Qilu were a "perfect match" while she felt like "nothing." Meanwhile, Nangong Yin's family had declared bankruptcy, transforming her overnight from a privileged young lady into a student struggling to afford cheap meals in the cafeteria. Her former friends, Sasha and Feifei, quickly turned their backs on her, mocking her and recalling her past insults.
Other students also ridiculed her for eating cheap meals, gossip spreading about her family's financial ruin. Ming Yuan joined in, confronting Nangong Yin in the cafeteria and adding to her humiliation, gloating that without her family's wealth, Nangong Yin was "nothing" and they were now "the same." Feng Shao and An Chuxia, however, defended Nangong Yin. Feng Shao criticized the onlookers for their "nonsense" remarks and pointed out that they too ate in the cafeteria.
An Chuxia reminded Ming Yuan that even though Nangong Yin had wronged her in the past, it was not an excuse to subject her to such public shaming. Feng Shao further discussed with An Chuxia how different people are, acknowledging An Chuxia's kindness and luck, and expressing how glad he was to know her.
In a moment of vulnerability, Nangong Yin's mother called her on the phone, begging her to seek help from the heirs of the two major corporations at her school, emphasizing their family's dire financial situation. Separately, Ming Yuan praised An Chuxia's talent in fashion design but then immediately said she had something important to tell her.
