Resumen del episodio 10 de Love Beyond the Grave
> Resúmenes de Love Beyond the Grave
After tending to his injuries, He Simu observed Duan Xu’s recovery. She noted that while he had been like an unfeeling spirit during his raid on the enemy camp, he was now acting like a sensitive, spoiled child. Duan Xu, however, had a specific wish in mind. He asked if he could call her by her name, Simu, explaining that it made him feel closer to her.
Despite He Simu reminding him that she was nearly four hundred years his senior, Duan Xu persisted. He offered to exchange his five senses for the permission to call her Simu whenever they made a deal, simply because he loved the name and wanted to truly understand her. He Simu warned him that he didn't need to understand her, only to stay alive and fulfill their contract.
The exchange was completed, and for the first time in centuries, He Simu felt the world of the living. She touched Duan Xu, marveling at the sensation of skin, the warmth of his breath, and the steady thrum of his heartbeat. To test the reality of pain, she even asked him to bite her, leading Duan Xu to welcome her to the mortal world. However, the swap came with a cost: He Simu’s spiritual power vanished.
She warned Duan Xu that the swap would only last ten days, and if he dared to take advantage of her weakness, she would kill him once her powers returned. Duan Xu seemed unbothered, joking about his own sensitivity. He revealed he was incredibly ticklish and had struggled whenever she touched him before; now, he intended to let her experience that same "suffering" for the next ten days. The transition to mortal life was chaotic.
He Simu spent the entire night exploring her new sensations, leaving the mansion in total disarray. The next morning, servants whispered about a plague of savage "rats" that had crushed furniture, ruined the kitchen, and even plucked the feathers off the backyard poultry. Meanwhile, Duan Xu, now devoid of his five senses, struggled to move. Without the ability to feel his own body, his sense of space was gone, causing him to stumble.
He Simu eventually found him and helped wipe the dirt from his face, though she was still learning to control her own strength. When she decided to visit the market, Duan Xu insisted on following her, joking that he didn't want the "rats" terrorizing the whole city. At the market, He Simu was like a curious child, touching and inadvertently breaking everything.
She burned her mouth on hot ginger honey water and accidentally crushed chestnuts and jewelry, leaving a trail of frustrated vendors in her wake. Duan Xu followed behind, teaching her to use her sight to judge the distance between her body and objects to compensate for her lack of touch. Despite the growing bill for the broken wares, he watched her with a soft smile, finding her joy in the world's details endearing.
As they walked, He Simu grasped his hand, wondering if holding his fingers was like holding his heart. The arrival of Marshal Qin in Shuozhou shifted the focus back to the war. Fang Xianye and other officials greeted the Marshal, though Duan Xu remained absent from the gate due to his "lingering injuries." Later, at the Shuozhou Yamen, a meeting was held to discuss the next move against the Northern Chong.
While other generals advocated for a strike on Youzhou, Duan Xu proposed a different target: Yunzhou and Luozhou. He used his own armor as an example, explaining it was forged from rare Tianluo Ore found in Luozhou, which made it light enough for a ten-year-old to carry yet impenetrable. He argued that Luozhou’s mines and Yunzhou’s grasslands for breeding warhorses were more valuable for the state's long-term strength. Marshal Qin, however, was more interested in He Simu.
Having heard that Duan Xu’s victories were due to a woman with extraordinary divination skills, he asked to "borrow" her for his own army. Duan Xu flatly refused, leading the Marshal to demand a meeting with her. When He Simu arrived, she was blunt, telling the Marshal that not every desire could be fulfilled. She pointedly reminded him of how the soldiers in Shuozhou had been left without reinforcements.
She claimed her divination was tied to her "destined one," Duan Xu, and that serving anyone else would bring dire consequences. When Qin’s guards tried to use force, Duan Xu intervened, declaring that no one could take his lady away. He then carried the exhausted He Simu back to her room, noting that mortals, unlike spirits, required sleep. Behind the scenes, political maneuvering continued.
Fang Xianye reported to Marshal Qin that the horse administration ledgers in Shunzhou had been stolen, a matter that could implicate the Duke. To distract the court and cover the deficit, they decided to approve Duan Xu’s plan to attack Yunzhou, which was known for its horses. Fang Xianye pointed out that if Duan Xu won, the credit would go to the Marshal’s command, but if he died, it would be blamed on his own reckless tactics.
As these schemes unfolded, He Simu fell into a deep sleep and dreamed of her parents. Her mother spoke about the fragility and vibrancy of mortals and the importance of understanding them with gentleness. Her mother explained that while her father couldn't hear the melody of music, he played it because he understood the love behind it. When He Simu woke, she felt a strange "wind" inside her chest, only to realize it was the sensation of breathing. Finding Duan Xu by her side, she marveled at the dream—a uniquely mortal experience she had never known before.
