> Resúmenes de Love Beyond the Grave
Leaving the palace banquet, Meng Wan encountered Xia Qingsheng. Although Xia claimed to be looking for Duan Xu, he had actually been waiting specifically for her. Learning that a new shipment of fine wine had arrived at the Yuzao Pleasure House, the two headed there together. Despite his poor alcohol tolerance, Xia was determined to accompany Meng Wan, as he had specifically kept an eye out for the wines she enjoyed.
Meanwhile, He Simu reflected on the marks she had placed on those with deep obsessions during the banquet. She instructed Fengyi to use his status as the Prophet to approach these individuals and collect their obsessions, hoping to track down Song Xingyu, who likely intended to forge pacts with them. Fengyi, however, teased He Simu about Duan Xu’s attentiveness toward Wang Suyi at the party.
Annoyed by his chatter, He Simu told him to focus on his tasks instead of gossiping. Elsewhere in the gardens, Duan Jingyuan ran into Fang Xianye. She was immediately defensive, accusing him of trying to sabotage her brother's potential marriage to Wang Suyi. However, she was stunned to see Fang Xianye carrying a six-petal flower knot—a specific design she believed only her brother knew how to tie.
Angered by what she saw as further imitation of Duan Xu, she warned him to stay away. Back at the Duan residence, Jingyuan asked her brother if he truly had feelings for Wang Suyi. Duan Xu didn’t give a direct answer but requested her help in arranging a private meeting. Jingyuan agreed to use a pending gift of a Suzhou-style fan as an excuse to invite Wang Suyi to the Yuzao Pleasure House.
Later, Duan Xu confessed to his sister that he had fallen for a girl he met on the battlefield—a unique "girl not of this world" who had rejected him, but for whom he would be willing to become a matrilocal husband. The meeting at the Yuzao Pleasure House took place as planned, though it was Wang Suyi’s brother who had selected the venue to "familiarize" her with Duan Xu’s lifestyle.
While the brother went to find his own entertainment with Luoxian, Duan Xu and Wang Suyi spoke by the window. They both realized that while they understood each other's constrained circumstances, there was no romantic interest between them. Suddenly, amidst a summer rain, Duan Xu spotted a woman below holding a red umbrella and a sugar figurine. Sensing it was He Simu, he leaped from the window to pursue her.
Duan Xu initially caught a stranger, but he did not leave. He formally introduced himself as Duan Xu, courtesy name Shunxi, until He Simu finally revealed her true form. He had recognized her because of the sugar figurine shaped like a crow. Their reunion was interrupted by Fengyi, whose familiarity with He Simu puzzled Duan Xu. Before leaving with Fengyi, He Simu handed her umbrella to Duan Xu.
Walking alone in the rain without the umbrella, Duan Xu reflected on the "firsts" He Simu represented—the first to wake his spirit and reach for him in the darkness. He made a silent vow that in this life, he would have no one but her. Meanwhile, Fengyi reported to He Simu that Duan Xu’s military power had been stripped, leaving him with an idle post.
He expressed concern that Duan Xu’s weakened health might fail after the drenching, but He Simu grew angry at his constant talk. Fengyi further reminded her that Wang Suyi remained the woman Duan Xu was intended to marry. He Simu spent several days in Nandu and noticed that despite the city's decadent prosperity, there were no Spirits or spiritual traces to be found. Fengyi suggested Song Xingyu might be responsible.
The next day, Duan Xu asked Jingyuan to visit the Wang family and apologize for his abrupt departure from the meeting, using the excuse that he had been chasing a suspected North Chong spy. He then met with Xia Qingsheng and Meng Wan, who were restless and eager to return to the battlefield. Duan Xu reminded them that while the war seemed settled, certain political matters in Nandu had to be resolved before they could depart.
He Simu eventually returned to the Yuzao Pleasure House, assuming the role of a top beauty to gather more obsessions. Fengyi and his attendant Ziji arrived to meet her, much to the surprise of Luoxian, who didn't expect the Prophet to visit such a place. The atmosphere shifted when He Simu sensed a powerful spiritual presence. She sent Fengyi and Ziji away just as Yan Ke entered her room. Instead of avoiding him, she welcomed the guest.
Yan Ke began to recount a tragic tale of a loyal prince who was framed as a rebel by his younger brother. He looked at He Simu—whom he called "A-Yan"—and asked if she knew how the prince’s story ended.
