> Resumos de A LOVER IN THE MORTAL WORLD
The episode begins with a flashback to Jin Xi’s childhood. Born with a kind heart, she could not bring herself to kill a chicken for food. However, Fei Zheng, intent on teaching her the cold reality of survival, forced her to act. He warned her that if the bird did not die by dawn, she would be the one to perish.
Under this brutal pressure, Jin Xi eventually took the life of the animal, a moment that marked the end of her innocence and the beginning of her transformation into a survivor. In the present, Eldest Princess Liu Xie remains deeply suspicious of the Emperor’s frequent visits to the General's Mansion.
Fearing that Liu Chu is being led astray by those with ulterior motives, she orders her guards to monitor the mansion day and night, demanding reports on every person entering or leaving. That night, Jin Xi notices she is being followed by one of the Princess's agents. To protect her secret meeting with Fei Zheng, she kills the spy. When Fei Zheng arrives, he scolds her for her impulsiveness, noting that Jinglan is far more dangerous than Changmo.
He warns her that if her cover is blown, she will be left to suffer the agonizing fate of the Gu poison. Meanwhile, at the palace, Liu Chu is lost in daydreams of the beautiful Princess Jiang Wanyu. When Fei Zheng arrives, Liu Chu attempts to use Xiao Chi’s poor health as an excuse to slip out of the palace and visit the General’s Mansion. However, his plan is thwarted by Liu Xie, who arrives with the treasury ledgers.
She insists that he fulfill his royal duties, reminding him that despite their sibling bond, they are also ruler and subject. By forcing him to review the accounts, she keeps him under her watchful eye for the rest of the night. At the mansion, Jin Xi has prepared snacks and arranged for Jiang Wanyu to enjoy the moonlight, hoping to facilitate another encounter with Liu Chu.
As they wait, Jiang Wanyu reflects on the man who fell from the sky during their previous meeting. Though she claims he lacks the martial valor of her father, the King of Changmo, she admits he is not unpleasant. Jin Xi notices the Princess’s interest and teases her about it, but Jiang Wanyu quickly deflects the conversation. Eventually, as it becomes clear the Emperor will not be coming, Jin Xi escorts the Princess back to rest.
The next day, Han Yunling provides Xiao Chi with a new medicinal pill, using wine as a messenger herb to aid his recovery. Her growing affection for the General is evident in her meticulous care. Simultaneously, Zhang Ruizhong grows anxious upon learning that Xiao Chi is reinvestigating the Han family case. He orders his steward to monitor the General’s every move. Xiao Chi, accompanied by Xu Chengfeng, visits Lord Xue, a senior official he has respected since childhood.
Xiao Chi attempts to probe into the old Han family case, suggesting it might have been a wrongful conviction. However, Lord Xue remains evasive, claiming his memory is failing and advising Xiao Chi that the best way to survive in officialdom is to avoid reopening settled cases. When Jin Xi visits Han Yunling to retrieve medicine for the Princess, her Gu poison suddenly flares up, causing her immense pain.
Han Yunling stabilizes her and reveals that she recognized Jin Xi as the girl she saved years ago. While Han Yunling does not have a guaranteed cure for the poison, she urges Jin Xi to reveal the details of her symptoms so she can attempt to craft an antidote.
Jin Xi remains guarded, claiming her burden is hers alone, but Han Yunling promises to study the condition out of her own medical curiosity, hoping to find a way to help her old friend. Trouble arises in the city when Wang Ruhai’s son, an arrogant bully, harasses a vendor before storming into Tang Chaoxue’s restaurant. He aggressively clears out the patrons and demands the best wine.
When Tang Chaoxue tries to appease him, he insults her and begins to physically harass her. Han Yunling, who had been following the Young Master after witnessing his earlier cruelty, intervenes. She defends Tang Chaoxue and beats the Young Master, identifying herself as General Xiao’s physician. Xiao Chi arrives at the restaurant and witnesses the aftermath of the confrontation.
Seeing the Young Master’s blatant disregard for the law, Xiao Chi begins to suspect that Lord Xue was silenced or coerced because he held the truth about the Han family. He rushes back to Xue’s residence, only to find that the old man has been murdered in broad daylight. The scene is in chaos, and the killers have already fled.
Xiao Chi is now certain that the Han case is part of a larger conspiracy, and he suspects Zhang Ruizhong’s involvement. The Young Master returns home and complains to his father, Wang Ruhai, about the physician who attacked him. Infuriated by the perceived insult to his family name, Wang Ruhai orders his advisor to have Tang Chaoxue’s restaurant shut down. Meanwhile, Zhang Ruizhong’s steward confirms that Lord Xue has been silenced and his family sent away.
They anticipate that Xiao Chi will not stop his investigation and begin preparing a trap for him. Later that night, Jin Xi meets Fei Zheng again. He informs her that the Hall Master has developed a new, more lethal Gu poison and that her symptoms are already progressing. They agree that they must hasten the marriage between Liu Chu and Jiang Wanyu to complete their mission and secure the antidote before time runs out.
Meanwhile, Han Yunling confesses to Xiao Chi that she beat the Young Master, worried that she has caused him trouble. Xiao Chi, who admires her courage, reassures her and promises to protect her in the capital. Elsewhere, Jiang Wanyu gazes at the moon, missing her father but quietly hoping for a happy life in her new home.
