> Resumos de A LOVER IN THE MORTAL WORLD
Under the cover of night, Jin Xi infiltrates the heavily guarded palace but is nearly discovered by patrolling guards. Fei Zheng, the newly appointed Minister of Rites, timely intervenes to save her. He dismisses the guards’ suspicions by claiming he is supervising the complex royal etiquette following the Emperor's wedding. Once alone, Jin Xi reveals she has secured the palace layout but still needs the defense maps for the capital and the strategic Tianlang Pass.
She informs Fei Zheng that the Hall Master of Caidie Hall is arriving with the marriage envoy to oversee the next phase of their mission. Having spent her wedding night alone, Jiang Wanyu feels a sense of disappointment, though she is somewhat comforted by the gifts Liu Chu sends the next morning. When Liu Chu finally visits her late at night, Jin Xi discreetly withdraws.
However, Liu Chu finds the maid’s gaze strangely familiar, reminding him of the look in Fei Zheng’s eyes. Just as the couple prepares for an intimate moment, Lord Zhang Ruizhong interrupts yet again. Liu Chu is forced to leave, promising to return shortly, though Wanyu remains skeptical. Lord Zhang brings a vast amount of wine, explaining it is the anniversary of his first military campaign alongside the late Emperor.
Liu Chu, wanting to honor the old minister’s loyalty, agrees to drink with him. During their conversation, Zhang admits he isn't clinging to power out of ambition; rather, he fears Liu Chu will become so lost in his feelings for Consort Ling that he will neglect the empire. Understanding Zhang's concern, Liu Chu vows to be a wise ruler but intentionally tries to outdrink the old man so he can finally return to his bride.
Meanwhile, General Xiao Chi and Fei Zheng receive a report on the plague in Huangpi Village. Their investigation reveals that the disease is remarkably similar to an outbreak from eight years ago but contains an unknown toxin. This confirms that the outbreak is not a natural disaster but a man-made act of sabotage. Later, when Liu Chu complains about his inability to spend a night with his wife, Xiao Chi and Fei Zheng promise to create an opportunity for him.
The Grand Princess, Liu Xie, remains vigilant regarding the palace's security. While pleased with the state of the treasury, she identifies Jin Xi as a potential threat. She visits Jiang Wanyu and, under the guise of concern for Jin Xi’s future, suggests it is time for the maid to have her own residence and life outside the palace. She offers a courtyard in the city and a monthly allowance.
Recognizing that there is no room for negotiation without exposing her true identity, Jin Xi is forced to accept the arrangement and prepare to leave the palace. The following night, Lord Zhang attempts to seek out Liu Chu with more business, but Xiao Chi and Fei Zheng arrive as reinforcements. They enthusiastically drag the meddling minister away to Tianxiang Restaurant to discuss old stories from Tianlang Pass.
Finally free of interruptions and with the help of nuptial wine sent by Liu Xie, Liu Chu and Jiang Wanyu are able to consummate their marriage. The next morning, Liu Chu takes Wanyu to the city gate. Looking out over the vast landscape, he swears that Jinglan and Changmo will remain at peace, vowing that future generations will never know the horrors of war. In the palace of Changmo, the atmosphere is far more hostile.
The King and his advisors are already plotting an assault on the nearly impenetrable Tianlang Pass. While General Gan Yi prepares the troops, Advisor Modu suggests a high-efficiency, low-cost strategy. The King decides to send Modu along with the tribute envoy to the capital to officially activate their long-term spy, Fei Zheng. Looking toward the future with cold resolve, the King vows to conquer Jinglan and send Liu Chu to the grave to join his father, Liu Zheng.
