After enduring the treacherous cliffs to retrieve rare herbs, Han Yunling returned to the capital and collapsed from exhaustion. Xu Chengfeng, knowing she would want to be near the General, placed her by Xiao Chi’s side. When she awoke, her hands were still tightly gripping the medicine. She immediately began brewing the herbs, but to her distress, Xiao Chi showed no improvement after a full day of treatment.

Meanwhile, Emperor Liu Chu took a blindfolded Jiang Wanyu out into the city. To give her a taste of commoners' lives, he had bought out an entire street so they could stroll through the night market undisturbed. Moved by his gesture, Jiang Wanyu picked out various trinkets to send back to her people in Changmo as return gifts for an upcoming delegation. During their time together, they shared "Zhu Yao," a fruit symbolizing eternal love and many children.

The arrival of Uncle Lie in the capital brought a surge of hope. Han Yunling was overjoyed to inform him that her brother, Han Mo, was alive, though still unconscious in a quiet cottage. Uncle Lie, who had traveled with a merchant caravan following the new alliance, suggested moving Han Mo to Jie'an Ward for better care. Witnessing her uncle's medical expertise, Han Yunling felt certain that Xiao Chi could finally be saved.

In the shadows, the Hall Master (Meng Ling) confronted Fei Zheng, reminding him of his identity as a Changmo spy. She threatened to expose his secret to his "brother," the Emperor, and used the life of Jin Xi to force his cooperation. During a banquet for the envoy Li Shichang, Fei Zheng recognized Jin Xi among the Changmo dancers.

When the Hall Master attempted to humiliate Jin Xi, Fei Zheng intervened, but the Hall Master used a bell to trigger a painful Gu poison in both of them. She offered Fei Zheng a single antidote; to protect Jin Xi and maintain his cover, he claimed she was merely a tool and took the pill himself. The Changmo delegation soon arrived with tributes of pomegranates, figs, and yellow peaches.

Seeing the fruits of her homeland made Jiang Wanyu nostalgic, and Liu Chu promised to one day accompany her back to visit her father. During their conversation, Jiang Wanyu admitted she had been unusually sleepy and hungry, leading her to suspect she was pregnant. Liu Chu was ecstatic, dreaming of a future filled with children and teaching them how to govern.

Danger found Han Yunling when the Hall Master, disguised as a vendor, tried to lure her with a poisoned pomegranate. Uncle Lie intercepted them just in time. It was revealed that Uncle Lie was actually the renowned Strategist Mo Du, and he had once taught the Hall Master the very Gu techniques she now used. That night, she broke into his residence to question why he helped Xiao Chi.

Unfazed, Uncle Lie stated they had a division of labor and revealed he knew of her secret affair with the King of Changmo, leaving her with no leverage over him. With a potent antidote provided by Uncle Lie, Han Yunling hurried to Xiao Chi’s side. After taking the pill, the General finally regained consciousness. He thanked her for her tireless care, feeling a debt to her that he could never fully repay.

As he recovered, news of Jiang Wanyu’s pregnancy reached Princess Liu Xie. The Princess visited the expectant mother, bringing a set of Liu Chu’s childhood clothes in a rare moment of familial warmth. The peace was shattered when Emperor Liu Chu suddenly collapsed. As Zhang Ruizhong and Li Shichang were discussing the patience required for tea and life, news of the Emperor’s illness arrived. The Imperial Physicians were in a panic, unable to determine the cause.

Liu Xie, furious at their incompetence, ordered those who couldn't help to be punished. Suspicion fell on the Changmo tributes, prompting Xiao Chi and Fei Zheng to recommend Han Yunling. Citing her success in Huangpi Village and her knowledge of Changmo toxins, the Princess ordered Xiao Chi to fetch her immediately.
