Xia Xuanzi moved to address this, only to be intercepted by Xin Mei. Meanwhile, Lu Qianqiao changed his mind about the planned heart transplant. Instead, he decided to sacrifice his memories to become the Perfect War Demon. He summoned Chu Ying with his remaining strength to share his decision. Chu Ying, who had only experienced the world because of Lu’s power, offered his full support.
The price of this transformation was absolute: Lu would gain immense power but lose every memory of his friends, family, and his love for Xin Mei, essentially becoming a completely new person. Lu reflected on the ordinary life he had finally tasted: the color of the sky, the flavor of food, and the warmth of his relationships. He cherished his dreams of a simple future with Xin Mei in Wei County, opening a medical shop together.
However, to protect the world and the people he loved, he chose to surrender those very memories, believing that even without his past, his heart would still lead him to do what was right. Elsewhere on the battlefield, Li Mofu defeated Lin Muhan and approached the Infinity Bell. Sima Randeng struck Jiang Ji with his chains, but she used her last ounce of strength to create an opening.
Following her desperate cry, Lin Muhan threw his sword with lethal precision, finally killing Sima Randeng before crawling toward the wounded Jiang Ji. At the Rainwatch Terrace, Xia Xuanzi controlled Sheng’s body to attack Xin Mei. Hesitant to harm her friend, Xin Mei was forced onto the defensive. She eventually entered Sheng’s spiritual sea to help her fight back.
Within that internal realm, Sheng regained consciousness and realized Xia Xuanzi had survived his previous defeat by hiding within her as a blood crow. Xia Xuanzi, now at the Great Success stage, revealed that both he and Sheng were innate spiritual bodies and he intended to steal her destiny to achieve godhood. Refusing to be a tool for his ambition, Sheng recalled her master’s poem about the cycle of life and decided to end the threat.
Realizing she couldn't hold Xia Xuanzi back forever, she begged Xin Mei to kill her. When Xin Mei could not bring herself to strike, Sheng lunged forward and impaled herself on Xin Mei’s blade. She died in Xin Mei’s arms, expressing her deep love for her sister and her wish for Xin Mei to find happiness. In her final thoughts, she dreamed only of returning home to Xin's Villa to eat roasted fish.
Lord Meishan arrived at the terrace to engage Li Mofu. Despite the power gap between them, Lord Meishan followed his master’s ancient teachings, swinging his sword relentlessly. After thousands of strikes and much bloodshed, the rust finally fell away from his blade, revealing its divine light. He managed to sever the branches of the Jianmu Tree, though Li Mofu quickly mended the damage with magic.
Xin Mei then provoked Li Mofu, distracting him with a broken sword and mocking his selfish ambitions. Just as Li Mofu prepared to kill Xin Mei, Lu Qianqiao appeared in formidable war armor as the Perfect War Demon. Unmoved by Li Mofu’s plea to join him in rebuilding the heavenly ladder, Lu viewed Li Mofu's goals as pathetic. With a mere thought, Lu sent the enemies flying and crushed Li Mofu as easily as an ant.
With Li Mofu’s death, the Jianmu Tree collapsed, ending the crisis. However, the victory was bittersweet. Lu Qianqiao’s past had vanished like smoke, and he no longer recognized the woman standing before him. Xin Mei watched in agony, calling out his name repeatedly, but the man who was once Lu Qianqiao walked away in silence, leaving his past and his love behind.
