> Resumos de Fate Chooses You
After receiving paintings from Lu Qianqiao, the members of the Wushuang Society were deeply moved. Tang You and the others insisted on treating Lu to a meal to show their gratitude. Although Lu Qianqiao was a War Demon—to whom even delicacies tasted like rotten meat—he found their sincerity hard to refuse and agreed to the feast. However, the group soon realized they were nearly penniless, with only a few copper coins between them.
Desperate to fulfill their promise, they turned their attention to Meishan Jun. They swarmed him, pinning him down while they fished several silver ingots out of his boots. Despite Meishan Jun’s protests and threats to fight back, they successfully "borrowed" the funds, promising to pay him back later. With the silver secured, Zhu Dajian and Shi Wen took to the kitchen to prepare the meal.
The group gathered to enjoy the feast, which included the famous Li's Smoked Chicken from a century-old shop in Phoenix City. During dinner, the conversation turned to the members' pasts. Chen Fen shared that his family were legendary tomb raiders from Chen Village. He revealed that 300 years ago, King Li Xiang had slaughtered the entire village to keep the location of a secret mausoleum hidden.
Chen Fen’s mission was to use the "Wushuang Secret Record" to dismantle the traps in that tomb and stop the king's attempted resurrection. Other members shared their own grievances. A scholar recounted how he abandoned the imperial exams after witnessing noble families and sect disciples using magic to cheat while he was punished for reporting them. A masked man, once a constable in Xuzhou, revealed his hatred for immortal sects.
He was the sole survivor of a team sent to clean up Dahuang Valley after the Holy Fire Sect's failed attempt to harness earth veins caused a collapse. Left horribly scarred, he now sought a sword that could pierce the hearts of the immortals he blamed for his brothers' deaths. Xin Mei eventually reached her breaking point.
She argued that while the sects were not perfect, they were the ones who bled and died during the Battle of Pinghu to save humanity. She reminded them that Master Yuntuzi of the Holy Fire Sect had sacrificed nearly all his disciples to protect Xuzhou. Frustrated that their sacrifices were so easily forgotten, Xin Mei slammed the table and walked away. Lu Qianqiao followed her out.
He suggested that instead of arguing over the complex friction between humans and sects, they should simply wait and see what the future held. He led her to the Liangqiu night market, a place cooled by the towering Xilian Range. There, he showed her a tavern where his old work, the "Four Seasons Map", was displayed. Lu admitted the painting was incomplete. When he created it, he had not yet replaced his flesh and could not distinguish colors.
He spoke of his deep longing to live once as a true mortal—to see the world in color, to taste the sweetness of food, and to feel the full range of human emotions, even pain. He dreamed of a day when he could simply get drunk in the capital’s finest restaurant and enjoy a long, peaceful sleep. As they walked, Lu Qianqiao revealed his heritage. He was the child of a War Demon mother and a human father.
His mother had abandoned her family for love, only to discover that his father was a human spy gathering intelligence on the War Demons. In her rage, she killed the father and left the young Lu Qianqiao in a fire. He was saved by a sudden rainstorm and later found by his master, Duan Xianyin, who taught him at Liubo Temple.
Over the centuries, he had lived many lives—including his time as the artist Wu Buquan and a friend to Su Taiyi—but his desire to become human had only grown stronger. Meanwhile, within the desolate purgatory of the Cave of Ten Thousand Demons, A Sheng spoke with Jin Lun about her traumatic past. She described the cruelty of Xia Xuanzi, who maintained a youthful appearance but possessed a malicious heart.
Obsessed with a prophecy from the Crazy Taoist claiming one of his descendants would become a god, Xia Xuanzi fathered countless children, discarding the mothers and controlling his sons with the Tongxin Curse—a spell that forced them to share his pain and obey him. The peace in Phoenix City was suddenly shattered when the sons of Xia Xuanzi arrived. Led by the flute-playing Xingye and the one-eyed Lao Quezi, the brothers surrounded Lu Qianqiao and Xin Mei.
They had been sent by their father to capture the woman who had killed their brother, A Gui. Faced with six opponents at the Golden Core and Nascent Soul stages, the situation grew dire for the couple.
