Han Qilu's mother tried to stop An Chuxia from leaving. An Chuxia, thinking that she would stay if only Han Qilu would ask her to, waited. However, Han Qilu remained silent, only telling her to take care of herself on her journey. Hearing this, An Chuxia completely gave up hope and left Han's home without a backward glance. Han Qilu watched through the heavy rain as her car drove away, unable to utter the words to make her stay.
Back inside, he looked at the small planet ring on his hand, a ring An Chuxia had designed, its code name 2002TQ97, and was filled with sorrow. An Chuxia's father expressed his regret, acknowledging he hadn't protected her enough and that he had hoped Han Qilu would cherish her more. Han Qilu's mother, distraught, exclaimed to him, "Are you a man or not? What did I tell you? I just can't bear to let Chuxia leave!"
Later, Han Qilu's mother, concerned about An Chuxia, decided she would have to personally intervene. An Chuxia went to school to process her withdrawal, where she unexpectedly encountered Han Qilu with Ming Yuan. Han Qilu's expression was complex, while Ming Yuan happily held his arm, much to An Chuxia's surprise. Ming Yuan, seemingly triumphant, proudly announced her relationship with Han Qilu and their upcoming engagement party.
Feigning concern, she asked An Chuxia why she was dropping out of school, knowing full well she was the reason. An Chuxia, taken aback, repeated "Engagement party?" Ming Yuan then feigned surprise, asking "You didn't know?" Han Qilu questioned Ming Yuan about not giving An Chuxia an invitation, to which Ming Yuan replied that she had made him promise the engagement party and was embarrassed to tell others, but she didn't need to hide it from An Chuxia.
Overwhelmed, An Chuxia excused herself. As she left, Ming Yuan called out, "We'll be waiting for you." In classroom 502, An Chuxia, feeling very sad, found herself flooded with sweet memories of Han Qilu, recalling a time he had asked her to meet him there because he liked the number. She remembered teasing him to "keep your distance" when he tried to tell her why.
Bai Xue, aware of An Chuxia's situation, approached her, saying their breakup was a great pity and that not being together would be her greatest regret after all they had experienced. Bai Xue then revealed the legend of classroom 502: "The couples who have had a date in classroom 502 will always be together," even pointing to an 'L' symbol, saying "L means love." Later, Han Qilu's mother sought out An Chuxia, proposing a plan to stop the engagement.
An Chuxia initially dismissed the idea as ridiculous, exclaiming, "What? This is too ridiculous!" But then Han Qilu's mother passionately implored An Chuxia, saying it might be the last chance for her and Han Qilu, asking if she would simply watch him marry another woman. She insisted that if An Chuxia still loved him, she would regret it forever if she didn't fight for him, emphasizing she didn't want "my Chuxia to be regretful."
An Chuxia, after much hesitation, agreed to Han Qilu's mother's plan. On the day of the engagement ceremony, Han Qilu's mother arranged for An Chuxia to appear in a wedding dress. The guests buzzed with excitement as Ming Yuan, the first bride, made her entrance, garnering praise for her beauty and elegance. Moments later, An Chuxia appeared, also in a wedding gown, causing a commotion among the guests who questioned, "Why are there two brides?"
and "Which one is the bride?" Han Qilu was very happy to see An Chuxia in a wedding dress. Ming Yuan, with feigned generosity, told An Chuxia that she could step aside if An Chuxia couldn't let go, and that she didn't need to consider Ming Yuan's feelings. Han Qilu's mother, however, was pleased, openly stating to a querying guest, "Choose one out of two, can't you tell?" Just then, Li Shendong arrived and handed Han Qilu a surveillance video.
He explained that he had long suspected Ming Yuan and had asked a friend who worked at the hotel to obtain the footage, revealing Ming Yuan's manipulative actions. Li Shendong was eager to expose Ming Yuan's deceit, but Han Qilu stopped him, asserting that it was his engagement party and he would handle it. Stepping onto the stage, Han Qilu addressed the gathered guests, welcoming them to what he called "this farce."
He then unveiled a special segment: a "guess the bride" game, clarifying that only one of the two women in wedding dresses at the entrance was his true fiancée. While An Chuxia silently resolved to support whatever choice he made, Ming Yuan confidently expected him to choose her.
Han Qilu began reading a heartfelt speech to his fiancée, his words seemingly directed at An Chuxia, reminiscing about their late meeting, short time together, and his happiness at finding her, describing her big eyes, long hair, and naive smile. The audience was confused, some thinking he might choose Ming Yuan, others concerned for An Chuxia.
However, he then abruptly shifted, describing someone who "loves to lie," "is very proud," "loves me but doesn't say it," and wasted time "trying to find out if we really love each other." He declared he was "finally done waiting" and invited his fiancée to join him. Ming Yuan, convinced Han Qilu was speaking to her, happily walked forward and took his outstretched hand, saying, "Qilu, I wish you happiness."
As An Chuxia stood heartbroken, recalling their past, and began to turn away, Han Qilu publicly declared, "I, Han Qilu, will only love An Chuxia. I want to be with An Chuxia till I die." He then called out to An Chuxia, "My fiancée, are you really willing to let your husband stand on the stage alone?" Earlier on stage, Han Qilu had subtly exposed Ming Yuan’s scheme, whispering to her to admit it was all a joke.
Cornered, Ming Yuan reluctantly announced to the crowd, "Sorry, everyone. This was just a joke. I'm the fake one. The real bride is the one off the stage. An Chuxia, what are you waiting for? Come here." Still maintaining her facade, Ming Yuan hugged An Chuxia, claiming, "Fool, you are my best friend. How could I ever steal your boyfriend?
Qilu was worried you didn't love him enough, that's why he specifically asked me to act out this play with him. It's just a surprise for you." An Chuxia, naive and relieved, expressed her joy, thinking she might have lost her best friend, and lightheartedly chastised them for tricking her.
Han Qilu, watching Ming Yuan's cunning display, resolved that such a person was like a "time bomb" by An Chuxia's side and that he needed to get her away from his true love, choosing not to expose Ming Yuan completely at that moment to avoid further distress for An Chuxia. Ming Yuan, feigning cheerfulness, told An Chuxia, "Wasn't it all just to make you happy?" and announced her departure, stating, "You are the star of this party."
Before leaving, she cast a hateful glance at Han Qilu and An Chuxia embracing on stage. Han Qilu then made a more intimate public proposal, reminiscing about a failed attempt at Angel Coast, reaffirming, "It doesn't matter how much we've been through, my wife will always be An Chuxia. You are the only one I ever love. Chuxia, I love you." An Chuxia, overjoyed, playfully nudged him, asking if everything was finally fine.
Amidst their joyous celebration, the engagement venue was suddenly filled with mysterious smoke. In the ensuing chaos, Han Qilu and An Chuxia were rendered unconscious and abducted. They later awoke in a moving car and, realizing their perilous situation, worked together to jump out. However, as they landed on the road, a speeding truck tragically struck them. Both were rushed to the hospital, bleeding profusely.
Han Qilu had instinctively shielded An Chuxia during the impact, resulting in only minor injuries for her, but severe brain trauma for him. An Chuxia, after her recovery, woke up at home. She walked out of her room and saw Han Qilu. Her heart soared with happiness, but her joy turned to shock when Han Qilu addressed her as "Aunty" and told her she was blocking his way.
