Ming Yuan was in class when Nangong Yin and others began to mock her, calling her a "phoney" and one of the "hicks and hayseeds" who would ruin Sheng De College. Nangong Yin then splashed water on Ming Yuan, but a male student, Kou Yi, intervened and warned Nangong Yin not to touch Ming Yuan again, or he would "give her a hard time." Despite his help, Ming Yuan did not express gratitude.
An Chuxia later approached Han Qilu, seeking his help with Ming Yuan's situation. Han Qilu was surprised, given Ming Yuan's harsh treatment of An Chuxia, but An Chuxia stated she understood Ming Yuan's feelings, having already warned Nangong Yin herself. She mentioned that Kou Yi had also warned Nangong Yin, and she feared further retaliation, urging Han Qilu to assist her.
Later, during a badminton game, Nangong Yin and her group continued to taunt Ming Yuan, extending their ridicule to An Chuxia by calling her a "parvenu." Han Qilu, angered by their words, hit Nangong Yin with a shuttlecock, firmly telling her and her friends that if they dared to appear within two meters of Ming Yuan again, he would ensure they disappeared from the college forever.
After this incident, Ming Yuan recognized her errors and apologized to An Chuxia, and they became good friends once more. An Chuxia decided to learn cooking from Li Shendong. She expressed her desire to cook for Han Qilu, stating that while they might hire a chef in the future, nothing could compare to the affection in a homemade meal. Li Shendong, touched by her words, promised to help her "graduate from horrible cooking."
The next morning, An Chuxia excitedly presented Han Qilu with a lovingly prepared bento for school, but he calmly said he would eat at the canteen. Li Shendong, observing Han Qilu's dismissive attitude, criticized him for not appreciating An Chuxia's efforts, revealing she had stayed up late into the night making the meal. Li Shendong also opened the bento, finding its contents to be quite terrible, which made him embarrassed.
Although Han Qilu had initially seemed unimpressed, hearing about An Chuxia's hard work, he immediately ran off to find her. Feeling he had upset An Chuxia, Han Qilu decided to seek Ming Yuan's help to choose a new engagement ring. He explained that An Chuxia had lost their original ring and he wanted to replace it with an identical one. However, Han Qilu did not know An Chuxia's ring size.
Ming Yuan pointed out that the original ring couldn't be truly replaced, suggesting he pick a new, unique design that suited An Chuxia's personality, emphasizing that the sentiment behind the gift was more important than the cost. Han Qilu agreed, and they decided to go to a jewellery shop. Unbeknownst to them, a subordinate of Han Qilu’s mother saw them at the store and reported it.
Han Qilu's mother, informed of the situation, immediately called An Chuxia, who was already distraught. Misunderstanding, An Chuxia became upset, believing Han Qilu was buying a ring with another girl. Encouraged by Han Qilu's mother to find out the truth, she rushed to the jewellery store, where she saw Han Qilu. Distraught, she confronted him. Han Qilu, who had just found a suitable ring, explained that it was a surprise for her.
Ming Yuan also stepped in to clarify that they were selecting a replacement engagement ring for An Chuxia. Realizing her mistake, An Chuxia felt embarrassed and apologized for her jealousy. Han Qilu reassured her, stating that the rings in the store weren't good enough and he would find her the best one in the future. Their bond deepened through this misunderstanding. Afterward, they returned home to enjoy a meal prepared by Li Shendong.
At dinner, Li Shendong excitedly announced that he had secretly entered the Le Cordon Bleu competition and that the finals were the next day. He asked An Chuxia to come cheer him on. Immediately after, Han Qilu revealed he also had a movie audition on the same day and asked An Chuxia to support him. An Chuxia, unable to refuse either of them, decided to attend Li Shendong's competition first, then rush to Han Qilu's audition.
The next day, as Han Qilu waited anxiously for An Chuxia at his audition, he received a phone call from the traffic department, informing him that An Chuxia had been in an accident on Bin Jiang Avenue. Abandoning his audition, he rushed to the hospital. He found An Chuxia, who explained she had sprained her ankle while cycling, trying to make it to both events.
Han Qilu reassured her that her safety was paramount, dismissing the importance of the audition compared to her well-being. Meanwhile, at the cooking competition, Li Shendong's father, Chairman Li, made an unexpected appearance. His father had observed Li Shendong's dedication and tasted his cooking, finally convinced of his son's passion for becoming a chef. He expressed regret for neglecting Li Shendong and granted his support for his son's dream, inviting him home for dinner.
Later, in the hospital, Han Qilu and An Chuxia lay together, looking at the stars. An Chuxia commented on how close they seemed, but Han Qilu explained the vast distance and the transient nature of everything in the universe, asserting that only her presence by his side was eternal. He then mentioned "2002TQ97," the designation of a planet, with a special meaning he chose not to reveal to her.
