Remembering that her roommate had told him her ears were very sensitive, he gently blew on her ear to test it, startling her and confirming her sensitivity. Later, because Situ Mo's bedsheets were being washed, Gu Weiyi suggested she sleep in his room. She initially refused, but Gu Weiyi pressed, asking why she always seemed to have trouble with him despite her generally good temper. Situ Mo eventually conceded and agreed to sleep in his room.
However, Situ Mo felt restless in the middle of the night. Gu Weiyi, admitting he couldn't sleep in an unfamiliar bed, decided to join her. Both were visibly nervous. During a meeting, the director praised Situ Mo's contributions to a different project and announced that both Situ Mo and Xu Jie Er would be promoted to permanent staff earlier than planned. This promotion, however, did little to alleviate Situ Mo's unhappiness about their work being uncredited. Meanwhile, Gu Weiyi was on the phone with Zhou Lei, who was insistent on checking answers for an upcoming exam, causing Gu Weiyi to miss Situ Mo's calls.
When Situ Mo arrived home, looking upset, Gu Weiyi immediately hugged her. However, he awkwardly quoted from a "Stanford open class," which led Situ Mo to mistakenly believe he was only interested in physical intimacy after their failed attempt. She pulled away, feeling even more frustrated. Gu Weiyi then cornered her against a wall, asking what was making her so angry. Situ Mo told him to figure it out himself.
When he tried to kiss her, still not understanding her emotional state, she pushed him away. As he tried to get closer, he tripped and accidentally fell on top of her. Meeting in a classroom to save money, they calculated their startup costs, discovering they needed an additional 80,000 yuan beyond their initial budget. Fu Pei, displaying a new level of maturity, confidently told Wang Shan he could sell his collection of limited-edition jerseys to cover the deficit, which delighted Wang Shan.
Back at home, Gu Weiyi was racking his brain trying to make amends with Situ Mo, who was still upset with him, partly because he had spoiled a show for her. At that very moment, Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi separately called Wang Shan and Fu Pei, respectively, to complain about each other. Both insisted they would not be the first to apologize. Shortly after, despite his earlier declaration, Gu Weiyi sheepishly knocked on Situ Mo's door.
When she questioned him, he bizarrely claimed he heard someone else knocking, which unsettled Situ Mo. They ended up sitting in the living room, where Gu Weiyi deliberately put on a horror movie, hoping to scare her into forgetting her anger. However, Situ Mo became genuinely terrified and started crying. Realizing his mistake, Gu Weiyi, in his typical straightforward manner, offered his arm for her to bite as a form of apology.
Situ Mo, however, gently bit him and then felt bad, prompting Gu Weiyi to pull her into a comforting hug. Situ Mo then explained the real reason for her distress: the company had taken credit for her Golden Pin contest design. Gu Weiyi, to her surprise and delight, offered to hack into the competition's website and change all the shortlisted entries to bear her name.
This bold and slightly absurd gesture made Situ Mo laugh, her tears of sadness transforming into tears of amusement. The next morning, as Gu Weiyi was heading to the laboratory, Situ Mo searched for her Liuzhou River Snails Rice Noodle. Gu Weiyi revealed he had deliberately hidden it on a high cupboard, hoping she would have to ask him to retrieve it as another playful way to reconcile. Situ Mo was amused by his childish but affectionate prank.
At the laboratory, the results for the Germany exchange program were announced. Zhou Lei, who had been confident he outperformed Gu Weiyi, was disheartened to learn that Gu Weiyi had scored significantly higher, by a margin of 19 points. The professor, while commending Zhou Lei's efforts in physics, explained that Gu Weiyi's professional background gave him an edge. Gu Weiyi was instructed to prepare his paperwork for the exchange.
The professor also advised both Gu Weiyi and Xie Yu Yin (who also qualified) to inform their families about the upcoming trip. Gu Weiyi, who usually makes his own decisions, admitted he hadn't yet mentioned the exchange to Situ Mo.
