Gu Weiyi and Situ Mo found themselves tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep. Gu Weiyi got up to the kitchen, intending to get a beer, but Situ Mo also rose and asked what he was doing. Startled, Gu Weiyi spilled beer on the floor. Situ Mo, walking forward, slipped on the liquid. Gu Weiyi instinctively caught her, leading to a romantic moment where they embraced and kissed against the refrigerator.

Afterward, they sat down, both agreeing that Wang Shan was an unwanted third wheel. They decided to call Fu Pei to pick her up. Gu Weiyi was blunt, telling Fu Pei to come first thing in the morning. Situ Mo chided him for being too direct, but Gu Weiyi retorted that if he weren't direct, he'd say, "Your girlfriend is at my house, and it's annoying."

The next morning, Wang Shan, who had already prepared breakfast, was busy packing her admission ticket, student card, and other essentials for her exam. Situ Mo initially didn't want to wake Gu Weiyi, but he soon emerged. As Situ Mo began eating a Chinese cruller with her hands, Wang Shan gently suggested using chopsticks. Gu Weiyi, however, defended Situ Mo, encouraging her to eat with her hands. Wang Shan then cautiously inquired about their plans for the day.

Gu Weiyi simply stated they had none, subtly gesturing to Situ Mo that he wished Wang Shan would leave. Situ Mo, trying to be polite, asked about Wang Shan's plans and suggested they could watch a movie together if she had none. Wang Shan, exasperated, revealed she had a graduate school entrance exam that day. Both Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi were visibly overjoyed at the news, their smiles undeniable.

After Wang Shan had left, Gu Weiyi immediately texted Fu Pei to be prepared. Downstairs, Wang Shan saw Fu Pei waiting on his motorcycle and was secretly pleased, but she feigned indifference and hailed a taxi. Predictably, the taxi soon got caught in a massive traffic jam. Just as Wang Shan started to panic, Fu Pei appeared, skillfully navigating his motorcycle through the traffic to rush her to the exam.

Fu Pei explained that he wanted to appear cool on the motorcycle, hoping it would make Wang Shan forgive him faster. However, Wang Shan admitted she had already forgiven him, conceding that she was the one who had been in the wrong. With that, the two reconciled. Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi were enjoying their date. After watching two movies, having already been shopping, and indulging in numerous snacks, they felt bored.

Situ Mo proposed they go out for some exercise, a suggestion Gu Weiyi initially dismissed, stating he didn't exercise. They decided on ping-pong, but Gu Weiyi's skills were terrible. He began to blame the non-standard table and the racket's "elastic coefficient" for his poor performance. Situ Mo quickly countered that the problem was with his technique.

Giving up on ping-pong, Situ Mo then admired a boy performing cool skateboard tricks, quickly adding that Gu Weiyi was "the most handsome" but the tricks themselves were impressive. Gu Weiyi, always eager to prove himself, borrowed a skateboard. Situ Mo expressed concern, asking if he knew how to ride. Gu Weiyi confidently launched into a detailed physics explanation involving pivot points and torque. Despite his elaborate theoretical understanding, his attempt to ride resulted in a clumsy fall.

He then sheepishly admitted that there was indeed a "gap between theory and practice." Returning home late, Gu Weiyi and Situ Mo exchanged goodnights, but neither truly wanted to part. Gu Weiyi suggested it wasn't too late, so they settled back down to watch another movie. Eventually, they both dozed off on the sofa.

Situ Mo awoke first but quickly closed her eyes again when she sensed Gu Weiyi stirring, wondering internally how to open her eyes without it being awkward and if her head had been too heavy on him. Gu Weiyi eventually woke up, gently lifting Situ Mo's head from his shoulder, clearly aware she was pretending to be asleep. He looked at her with a fond smile and softly told her to "stop pretending."

Embarrassed, Situ Mo announced she had to go to work. Gu Weiyi then asked her to help him apply a plaster for his waist, which he had injured during the skateboarding attempt. Afterward, Gu Weiyi walked Situ Mo to the bus stop, where they sat holding hands, sharing sweet smiles. At the office, Situ Mo was greeted by Jie Er, who shared two pieces of good news.

First, interns were now eligible to participate in the Golden Pin Advertisement Design Competition, a task usually shunned by permanent staff. Second, and more excitingly, interns would finally get a winter holiday. Jie Er elaborated that this new policy was implemented after a former intern had threatened to involve the HR Bureau over legal holiday pay. Later, the art director confirmed the winter break and announced that everyone would need to submit two new creative works after the New Year.

Meanwhile, in the lab, Zhou Lei was grumbling about Senior Xie Yu Yin suggesting that Gu Weiyi calculate data because he was faster. Trying to stir up trouble, Zhou Lei falsely told Gu Weiyi that Xie Yu Yin wanted the calculations done in ten minutes. Just then, Prof. Jiang introduced Lu Jian Shi, a former student who had been on an exchange program at Heidelberg in Germany, describing her as a "legendary God of Physics."

Lu Jian Shi greeted Gu Weiyi specifically, expressing her hope that they might go to Germany together. This immediately led Zhou Lei to accuse Prof. Jiang of favoritism. Prof. Jiang quickly refuted the accusation, explaining that Lu Jian Shi was observing them along with him, and a formal exam would be held after the winter break to select candidates, with the results and their daily experimental performance both counting towards the final decision.

Later, Gu Weiyi arranged to play ping-pong with Fu Pei and Wang Shan. Gu Weiyi admitted he had "no level" in the sport, so Fu Pei started him with systematic training, focusing on ball bouncing. During this time, Gu Weiyi texted Situ Mo, asking what time she would finish work. Situ Mo replied that she would be off at 6 PM if there was no overtime, and asked if he was coming to pick her up.

Shortly after, the art director called Situ Mo into a meeting room where Lin Zhi Cun and his agent were waiting to discuss an upcoming collaboration, specifically requesting Situ Mo to be part of the "original crew." Sensing Situ Mo's eagerness to leave, Lin Zhi Cun, after initially asking for a company tour, eventually let her off early, joking that he was just trying to act like a big shot, something his fans call a "lovely contrast."

As Situ Mo descended in the elevator, Lin Zhi Cun subtly observed her phone, noting she hadn't received a reply from Gu Weiyi. He tried to sow doubt, telling her that if Gu Weiyi hadn't replied, he wouldn't come to pick her up, claiming, "I'm a man, I know." Situ Mo steadfastly maintained that Gu Weiyi was different and would indeed come.

Upon reaching the lobby, Situ Mo was thrilled to see Gu Weiyi waiting, but the atmosphere immediately turned tense as Gu Weiyi and Lin Zhi Cun locked eyes, their expressions betraying a clear rivalry. In a brief, humorous post-credits scene, Situ Mo called out to Gu Weiyi from a distance, asking him to collect the clothes in the living room. Gu Weiyi reminded her to pay him for such tasks.

Situ Mo then asked for two yuan for her bus card, and Gu Weiyi told her to get money from his wallet in his coat pocket. While searching, Situ Mo found a printed photo of herself and Gu Weiyi. When she asked where it came from, Gu Weiyi casually mentioned he'd printed it at a restaurant previously.

Situ Mo pressed him further, demanding an explanation, but Gu Weiyi simply handed her a five-yuan note and walked away, leaving Situ Mo exasperated and calling his name for a clearer answer.
