As graduation approached, Situ Mo carefully tied Gu Weiyi's tie, though it ended up a bit crooked, which still pleased him. On campus, students were bustling with graduation activities. Situ Mo opened a classroom door to find Ah Ke presenting a large bouquet of flowers to Meng Lu, making her feel a brief moment of longing, but she quickly joined her friends to happily take photos.

Meanwhile, Gu Weiyi had finished his photos with professors and other seniors and was waiting for Situ Mo in the library. When Senior Xie Yu Yin noticed Gu Weiyi's tie was askew, she kindly stepped forward to straighten it. Situ Mo arrived just as this happened, making her visibly unhappy. Before Gu Weiyi could explain, his friend Zhou Lei enthusiastically pulled him away for more photos, even involving Situ Mo.

Later, outside the library, Meng Lu and other friends teased Gu Weiyi for not bringing Situ Mo flowers, which further angered her. Gu Weiyi, holding the flowers given to him by Xie Yu Yin, chased after Situ Mo as she walked away, but she ignored him. During a group photo in the dorm, everyone threw their graduation caps in the air. Gu Weiyi protectively held his cap over Situ Mo to shield her from falling ones.

However, Situ Mo was still upset. Wang Shan and Fu Pei suggested Gu Weiyi and Situ Mo take a photo together in the library. To try and cheer her up, Gu Weiyi made several funny and cute poses, but this only irritated Situ Mo more. Gu Weiyi pursued her to the sports field, where Situ Mo confronted him, expressing her anger that he allowed another girl to fix his tie, implying he enjoyed the attention.

Gu Weiyi insisted that Xie Yu Yin had "ambushed" him and he was innocent, but Situ Mo was too emotional to listen to his explanations. When Gu Weiyi suggested she was being unreasonable, Situ Mo angrily declared she would not return to their "stupid house." In a moment of desperation, Gu Weiyi scooped her up, placed her on a basketball hoop, and kissed her. The kiss worked its charm, and a blushing Situ Mo reconciled with him.

They walked away together, Gu Weiyi looking utterly doting. On their way home, both were hungry and realized they were out of money. Situ Mo suggested they go to Fu Pei's for a meal, but Gu Weiyi, feeling a touch of jealousy, playfully countered that Xie Yu Yin had also invited him to dinner. The mention of "Senior Xie Yu Yin" immediately made Situ Mo angry again, which secretly delighted Gu Weiyi as he continued to hold her hand.

They decided to go home and cook porridge. This porridge became their staple for three days. Despite his growing aversion to the repetitive meal, Gu Weiyi dutifully ate it. Soon after, Situ Mo discovered the water had been cut off due to unpaid bills. Gu Weiyi stubbornly refused to use Situ Mo's money to pay, insisting on waiting for his project research funds to be disbursed. Then, to their dismay, the electricity was also disconnected for the same reason.

To pass the time, Gu Weiyi, slightly embarrassed, took Situ Mo to play ping-pong outside, wanting to showcase his much-improved skills, a stark contrast to his previous beginner level. After a few rounds, Situ Mo conceded defeat, complaining of hunger. Just then, Gu Weiyi received a notification that his project fee had been transferred. Relieved, they decided to splurge on a luxurious meal to make up for their recent financial hardship.

Their idea of luxury was buying a large quantity of cup noodles. As Gu Weiyi considered the environmental impact of the disposable cups, he also thought of buying a dishwasher to solve their shared dislike for washing dishes. Situ Mo adamantly refused, giving him an ultimatum: choose between the dishwasher and their beloved pet, Circle. Gu Weiyi, without hesitation, chose Circle.

Time flew by, and Gu Weiyi and Zhou Lei were preparing for a competitive exam for a coveted spot to study in Germany. Meanwhile, Situ Mo was in her dorm packing her belongings. Wang Shan confided that she would be staying in the city over the summer to support Fu Pei's new business venture, as she was heading to a university up North for her graduate studies.

As Situ Mo continued packing, she joyfully discovered 800 yuan she had saved from her old tutoring jobs, which she had forgotten about. After a quick phone call with Gu Weiyi, she resumed packing. Later, Senior Lu Jian Shi learned that Zhou Lei had been staying in the lab and keeping a cat there. She was furious and insisted on reporting him to the school and demanding a written self-criticism.

Gu Weiyi tried to defend Zhou Lei, and Xie Yu Yin along with Prof. Jiang also stepped in to defuse the escalating tension. Away from the main group, Lu Jian Shi complained to Xie Yu Yin about a recent blind date with Fu Pei from the Management Department, labeling him a "parvenu's son" who was rude and self-important, boasting about being the "hottest man" on campus, and generally not on her level.

Gu Weiyi, passing by, overheard these disparaging remarks, which significantly eroded any good impression he had of Lu Jian Shi. Downstairs at the dorm, Wang Shan was waiting for Fu Pei when she encountered his father, who had come to apologize to Lu Jian Shi for the disastrous blind date.

Wang Shan took the opportunity to speak with Fu Pei's father, telling him about Fu Pei's newfound maturity, his diligence, and his determination to start his own company, motivated by both his personal ambitions and a desire for his father's approval. Despite his initial skepticism, when Fu Pei arrived and presented his father with a freshly obtained business license, his father's heart swelled with pride, and he silently acknowledged both his son's efforts and Wang Shan's sincerity.

Situ Mo went to the dorm manager's office to sell her old books. The manager, recognizing Situ Mo from her frequent late returns during her internship, commented on her past solitary late nights and inquired about her current relationship status. Upon hearing Situ Mo preferred scientists, the manager eagerly offered to introduce her to two bright students of her scientist husband, describing one as handsome but a bit "silly."

Situ Mo politely interrupted, informing her that she already had a boyfriend. Undeterred, the manager then listed various eccentricities of scientists, but as Situ Mo listened, she found herself mentally matching each trait to Gu Weiyi, realizing that these "flaws" were, in fact, his endearing qualities. Feeling happy, Situ Mo went to the lab to meet Gu Weiyi to go home. Xie Yu Yin and Lu Jian Shi informed her that he wasn't there.

Soon after, Lu Jian Shi found Gu Weiyi in the library and began to provoke him, questioning why his girlfriend wasn't from the physics department. Gu Weiyi sharply retorted that his choice of girlfriend was none of her concern. He then defended Fu Pei, stating that his friend was more courteous and less arrogant than she was.

Finally, Gu Weiyi warned Lu Jian Shi to stop bullying Zhou Lei, deliberately implying that Zhou Lei had a past in a juvenile detention center, a fabrication to deter her. Feeling quite pleased with himself after standing up to Lu Jian Shi, Gu Weiyi's mood brightened even further when Situ Mo arrived, excitedly telling him about the 800 yuan she had found. They decided to spend the "windfall" on a shopping trip for household items.

While browsing, they impulsively decided to make ceramic crafts. Situ Mo envisioned a romantic, hands-on experience, but Gu Weiyi, ever the pragmatic scientist, approached it with a more technical mindset. After their crafting session, they returned home and busied themselves with decorating their cozy apartment. The following day, with their funds depleted again, Gu Weiyi went to Fu Pei to borrow money. Amused that the brilliant Gu Weiyi was broke, Fu Pei teased him.

Gu Weiyi first asked for 5,000 yuan, then reluctantly lowered his request to 500, and finally to just 50. When Fu Pei jokingly refused the paltry sum, Gu Weiyi dramatically portrayed himself as a struggling entrepreneur, much to Fu Pei's amusement.
