The night before his departure, Han Shangyan found himself unable to respond enthusiastically to Tong Nian's messages or visit her at home. Instead, he overcame his fear of heights to climb a large tree outside her house, gazing at her bedroom window, filled with a profound sense of reluctance. That night, a security guard spotted him near Tong Nian’s home.

Recognizing Han Shangyan’s car from previous visits, the guard, assuming he had argued with his girlfriend, advised him on how to appease women, sharing his own experiences of waiting outside his wife's building. Han Shangyan, displaying his typically reserved nature and a hint of a "bad temper," dismissed the guard's concern but accepted some candy. The next morning, Han Shangyan’s taxi paused briefly outside Tong Nian’s house until he saw her emerge, then continued its journey to the airport.

Simultaneously, Tong Nian, unaware of his departure, had prepared a basket of breakfast treats for him and was heading to the K&K club, hoping to reconcile. Upon arrival, she was informed by the team, including Demo, that Han Shangyan had already left the country to report to headquarters in Norway.

Before leaving, Han Shangyan informed Demo that he would be absent from the upcoming week's competition due to his report to headquarters in Norway, instructing Demo to relay the message to the rest of the team. He also mentioned that his domestic phone would be off and provided an alternative international number. Demo expressed concern, noting that the official promotions had heavily featured Han Shangyan, known as "Gun God," creating expectations for his appearance.

Han Shangyan, however, maintained that competition was about honor, not pleasing fans. In Norway, Han Shangyan met with his stepmother for a meal. She brought up a necklace she had previously asked him to buy, now joking about its increased value. Han Shangyan, a bit flustered, confirmed he had reimbursed her. His stepmother then revealed that Wu Bai had informed her Han Shangyan had given the necklace to his girlfriend. She playfully insisted on her responsibility as his mother.

She then presented him with a collection of her heirloom jewelry, including a jade bracelet from her grandmother, urging him to use them for a marriage proposal to his "little girlfriend." Han Shangyan politely declined the offer. She pressed him, questioning if he had been dumped or if the girl was after money, to which he simply stated he did not need it and felt annoyed by her teasing.

Later, Han Shangyan met with his business partner, Nan Wei, to secure a one-million budget for K&K China. He argued that China was his origin and that the team's success could secure their first Global Finals ticket, bringing substantial prize money and stabilizing the club's finances. He also expressed his personal hope that Wu Bai could achieve the world championship title he himself never won.

They settled the matter with a card game, an old tradition between them, which Han Shangyan won, securing the budget. Nan Wei then probed about his girlfriend, which Han Shangyan quickly denied. Later, Han Shangyan called Wu Bai from Norway. He inquired about his grandfather and learned that Demo’s cat had diarrhea and Demo’s mother intended to pull him from competition. He also confirmed that the SP group competition was scheduled for the same day as his stepmother's wedding.

Hesitantly, he asked if Tong Nian had visited the club. Wu Bai put the call on speaker, and the team playfully chided Han Shangyan for his insensitivity, mentioning Tong Nian had even brought them breakfast. Han Shangyan expressed his irritation at being on speaker. That evening, Han Shangyan’s stepmother was in his hotel room. She declared her intention to stay in an adjacent room for her "maiden family" wedding, refusing to go home.

She reflected on their past, lamenting that she hadn't even met or seen a photo of the girl who held her son's heart, recalling their nine rebellious years together. Understanding her longing, Han Shangyan drew a simple sketch of Tong Nian and discreetly slipped it under her door. His stepmother discovered the drawing and was delighted, praising the girl as "beautiful with a caring heart."

He then informed her he would attend her wedding but skip the after-party to return to China for a friend's important competition, which had garnered significant media attention around him. His stepmother, in turn, left him an encouraging note with a photo, promising her unwavering support. Back in Shanghai, Tong Nian received a call from a security guard at Jiaodong University about a young girl, Little Ai, who claimed to be looking for her sister.

Tong Nian and Yaya went to pick her up, confirming their identities with student IDs. Little Ai, Wang Hao's daughter, revealed she had run away from home because her mother, Su Cheng, wanted to take her away. She urged Tong Nian, as Han Shangyan's girlfriend, to use her influence to get Han Shangyan to transfer Su Cheng away, preventing her from disrupting Wang Hao's life and their father-daughter relationship.

Little Ai then passionately argued that her father was more handsome and capable than Han Shangyan, even alleging Han Shangyan had a bad temper, a big head, short legs, and stinky feet, which Tong Nian vehemently refuted, defending Han Shangyan. Eventually, Yaya and Chun Chun, a friend present, joined Little Ai in teasing Tong Nian, leading to a fun, lighthearted night. Recognizing the delicacy of the situation, Tong Nian decided against forcing Little Ai to return.

She called Mi Shaofei, who then connected her to Wang Hao, assuring him that Little Ai was safe with them. Tong Nian proposed bringing Little Ai with her and Yaya to the SP group match the next day before returning her to Wang Hao, suggesting Little Ai stay with them for the night to cool down. That same night, the atmosphere at the SP club was tense. Wang Hao was preoccupied with family worries.

Ou Qiang felt uneasy about potential team reshuffles, fearing someone would be dropped from the first team. Mi Shaofei, already aware that he was the one to be replaced, kept this information from Ou Qiang to avoid impacting his performance. Despite his own impending demotion, Mi Shaofei reassured Ou Qiang, vowing they would win the upcoming match and prove their worth as former Solo team members.

The next day, as the Chinese Regional Qualifiers' Eighth Finals began, Appledog met Tong Nian, Yaya, and Little Ai, handing them three VIP tickets in the same row. Tong Nian, still hopeful, asked if Han Shangyan would be there, but Appledog clarified he wouldn't, reminding her it was SP's match. Meanwhile, Han Shangyan was already on a plane back to Shanghai, rushing to the competition venue to support Mi Shaofei.
