At the K&K Esports Club, Han Shangyan continued to attend to a very drunk Tong Nian. Searching for her phone, he discovered a collection of materials Tong Nian had meticulously organized about him, her beloved Gun God. To unlock her phone, Han Shangyan playfully lifted her drooping eyelids. He managed to call Tong Nian's best friend, Lan Mei, whose excitement instantly surged upon hearing his voice.
Lan Mei and her husband, who were settling into a hotel room, quickly dressed and rushed out, eager to meet their idol. While tidying Tong Nian’s belongings, Han Shangyan carefully placed the necklace she adored back into its box and tucked it into her bag. Outside Tong Nian's home, Han Shangyan met Lan Mei and her husband. Lan Mei's husband, an ardent fan since the Team Solo days, was incredibly thrilled.
He passionately declared that fans like him would always support Han Shangyan, past and future, eager to see K&K win a world championship. Overcome with emotion, Lan Mei's husband embraced Han Shangyan. Unexpectedly, Han Shangyan, usually reserved, agreed to take a photo with him, which Lan Mei promptly captured. As Han Shangyan carried Tong Nian towards her door, Lan Mei directly asked about his feelings for Tong Nian.
Han Shangyan admitted they weren't well-acquainted and had only met a few times, so claiming to like her now would be insincere. He suggested they get to know each other slowly, as feelings would eventually develop. Lan Mei and her husband interpreted this as Han Shangyan's commitment to take responsibility for Tong Nian. After adding each other on WeChat for future contact, Han Shangyan left.
Tong Nian’s mother opened the door to find her daughter intoxicated, and Lan Mei quickly explained that Tong Nian had accidentally consumed alcohol due to a prank at a gathering. Tong Nian's mother was displeased, knowing her daughter could not hold her liquor. The next day, during a team meeting, Han Shangyan's mind was preoccupied with memories of a clingy, drunk Tong Nian from the previous night. He found his team members' reports unsatisfactory and ordered them to rewrite everything.
Noticing Han Shangyan's distracted state, Wu Bai picked up a dropped folder, sensing his cousin was troubled. Han Shangyan then called his aunt about the necklace he was supposed to buy for her. He lied, claiming he had lost it at the airport, and promised to pay her back within three days, despite her persistent nagging. Meanwhile, his team members noticed a wound on Han Shangyan's forehead and jokingly speculated that it was a "lesson of love" from their sister-in-law.
Later that afternoon, a sober Tong Nian woke up, vaguely remembering Han Shangyan being close to her but dismissing it as a dream. Her gaze then fell upon the necklace in her bag, which Han Shangyan had ensured was there, and she felt a sense of unease. Finding a note from Lan Mei, she called her friend and finally learned the embarrassing details of her drunken antics from the night before, which had caused Han Shangyan so much trouble.
Mortified, Tong Nian immediately sent Han Shangyan an apology message, followed by a breakup message: "Let's break up. It's fake anyway." Han Shangyan, who had just secured a loan from Wu Bai to repay his aunt for the necklace, received the messages. He messaged back, "Have you thought this through?" Tong Nian, tearfully, confirmed, "Yes," to which he simply replied, "OK," without any attempt to salvage the situation. Heartbroken, Tong Nian cried profusely while drinking water in the kitchen.
Her father angrily cursed Han Shangyan, while her mother comforted her, encouraging her not to be self-deprecating after a breakup and assuring her that she would eventually find someone who would cherish her like a pearl. At school, Tong Nian was slated to lead a project presentation at the police station. Before the meeting, her friend Yaya found her crying in the restroom, learning that Tong Nian had experienced a breakup with the same person twice.
Despite her emotional state, Tong Nian insisted on fulfilling her responsibilities as project leader. Joined by Zheng Hui and Yaya, she met with Officer Wang, where she delivered an impressive presentation on computer vision and neural networks for cybersecurity. After the meeting, her emotions surged again. Yaya accompanied her to a restaurant, where Tong Nian, without realizing it, ordered a large amount of food. She confessed to Yaya how profoundly painful a breakup was.
Meanwhile, Han Shangyan remained distracted during team training, his thoughts constantly drifting to Tong Nian. Su Cheng, the team manager, handed him a package that Little Ai had asked him to pass to Tong Nian, cautioning him not to peek. Unable to resist, Han Shangyan opened it, discovering a collection of old photos of himself with Team Solo from ten years prior.
A note from Tong Nian revealed she had asked Little Ai to find these "motivational pictures" for him, hoping he would find happiness even though they had broken up. Han Shangyan wondered where she found them and mused that she clearly didn't know he was single and supposedly uninterested in women. Later that evening, the team members informed Han Shangyan that Demo was in low spirits. Han Shangyan, having composed himself after ruminating on Tong Nian, went to comfort Demo.
He learned that Demo's parents had divorced, and neither parent wanted him. Han Shangyan, eating a candy to cope with his own mood, was then lectured by Demo about the health risks of sugar and diabetes. Han Shangyan then shared his own difficult past: his mother passed away shortly after his birth, and his father died from illness soon after, leaving him to be raised by his stepmother.
Hearing this, Demo stopped crying, his own sadness somewhat eased by their shared experience. Han Shangyan refused to give Demo the specific green candy Tong Nian liked. Soon after, Su Cheng briefed Han Shangyan on upcoming publicity photos for the team, including a joint shoot with SP. Han Shangyan dismissed the idea as "boring" and asked Su Cheng to show more "motherly love" towards Demo, ensuring his emotional state wouldn't affect future competitions. As Han Shangyan stealthily returned home, he was caught by his grandfather.
