After three sleepless nights, Bai Qian successfully restored Mo Yuan's soul. Exhausted, she decided to rest for a couple of days before heading to Yingzhou in the Eastern Sea to obtain the Mystical Mushroom. However, her second elder brother, Bai Yi, suddenly arrived at the Western Sea.
Die Feng led Bai Yi to Bai Qian, where Bai Yi inquired about an old promise made by the Western Sea Water Monarch: that any family whose daughter cured the eldest prince could marry her into the Crystal Palace. Die Feng confirmed the promise, and Bai Yi, delighted, proposed Fengjiu, his daughter, as a suitable bride, given Bai Qian had cured the prince. Bai Qian and Die Feng were taken aback.
Bai Qian understood her brother's intent was to help Fengjiu forget Donghua, but before she could object, Bai Yi sternly silenced her. Die Feng then gently explained that he was devoted to cultivation and unfamiliar with romance, while his elder brother had been bedridden for centuries, making neither of them a good match for Fengjiu.
He suggested a different approach: to publicly announce Fengjiu's search for a suitor across the Four Seas and Eight Wildernesses, allowing young talents to present their marriage proposals. Bai Yi agreed, deciding they should start accepting proposals immediately at the Western Sea. Seizing the opportunity to escape the awkward conversation, Bai Qian declared herself sleepy and left them to finalize the arrangements.
Meanwhile, Donghua found himself in the mortal realm, unconsciously wandering into the Hèndàn Courtyard, where Fengjiu had lived as Consort Chen. He momentarily saw a smiling Fengjiu approaching him. Back in the Heavenly Palace, Si Ming informed Donghua about Bai Yi's plans to find a husband for Fengjiu at the Western Sea. Donghua's demeanor turned cold. He handed Si Ming a small box, instructing him to deliver it to Fengjiu.
Si Ming opened the box to find the arrow Fengjiu had taken for Donghua in the mortal realm. Donghua, feigning indifference, told Si Ming to tell Fengjiu that she had once saved his life in the mortal realm, and now they were even. He wanted her to keep the arrow as a memento of their past connection.
At the Western Sea's rear garden, Fengjiu and Bai Qian were amidst a throng of young talents, all eagerly presenting lavish gifts to Fengjiu. Fengjiu fretted over how to reciprocate so many presents when Si Ming arrived. Si Ming congratulated Fengjiu, stating that after more than three hundred years, her debt of gratitude was finally repaid. Fengjiu, disheartened, murmured that with the debt settled, she no longer had any ties to the Nine Heavens.
Si Ming then presented the arrow and Donghua's message. Gazing at the arrow, Fengjiu was flooded with memories of Donghua's promises to her when he was the mortal emperor. His current coldness pierced her heart deeply. Later, Fengjiu, lost in thought, visited the secluded thatched hut where she and Donghua had once hidden from their pursuers. To her surprise, Donghua was already there.
He spoke with an icy composure, reminding her that as the Monarchess of Green Hill, she was not an ordinary mortal, and certain things needed to be made clear. Fengjiu, her voice quiet, replied that she understood, and that the love from a past life should remain in that past life.
As Donghua turned to leave, Fengjiu produced the arrow, tears streaming down her face, and asked if he remembered what she had said when she protected him from that arrow. She recounted her vow to always keep him in her heart. With his back to her, Donghua confirmed he remembered but insisted that they were not mortals.
He emphasized that if one wavers when a bond should be definitively severed, it only leads to harm for all involved, before departing resolutely. Meanwhile, in the Peach Blossom Forest, Ye Hua awoke after some time, having been healed by Zhe Yan. His immediate concern was Bai Qian's whereabouts, asking if she was still in the Western Sea. Bai Zhen confirmed it had been exactly three days and nights.
Ye Hua then handed a medicinal pill to Zhe Yan, asking him to deliver it to Bai Qian. He instructed Zhe Yan to tell Bai Qian that Zhe Yan himself had obtained the Mystical Mushroom and refined the pill using his own cultivation. Zhe Yan questioned why he couldn't tell Bai Qian the truth, that she should be grateful to Ye Hua.
Ye Hua explained that Bai Qian strongly disliked owing favors, and if she knew he had lost an arm and severely depleted his cultivation for the pill, it might distract her from saving Mo Yuan wholeheartedly. He mentioned that he had lost his arm while saving Li Jing and his wife. Zhe Yan, observing Ye Hua's stoic resolve, then posed a critical question: what if Mo Yuan's awakening caused the seal on Qing Cang to break, endangering the world?
Despite his grave injuries, Ye Hua's gaze was firm. He declared that if Qing Cang were to break free and threaten the Four Seas, a guardian of the Eight Wildernesses would undoubtedly appear to counter him, just as Mo Yuan had sacrificed himself 70,000 years ago, and Bai Qian had risked her life 300 years prior. He implied that he would be that protector. Ye Hua then prepared to return to the Heavenly Palace to report.
Bai Zhen, wanting to convey Bai Qian's true feelings to Ye Hua, was stopped by Zhe Yan, who reminded him that the ebb and flow of fate had its own reasons and consequences. Ye Hua arrived back at the Heavenly Palace, barely able to stand from his profound weakness.
To spare Ah Li from seeing him in such a state, he instructed his attendant, Jia Yu, to tell Cheng Yu to take Ah Li to the Buddhist assembly in Ling Mountain for a few days, enticing him with the promise of delicious sugar cane. Ah Li, delighted and believing his mother had agreed to marry his father, readily agreed. Ye Hua then tasked Tian Shu with reporting to the Heavenly Monarch.
He reported that he had destroyed all the Mystical Mushrooms, slain four mythical beasts, and caused Yingzhou Island to sink, but at the cost of exhausting all his cultivation. He strictly forbade Tian Shu from mentioning his visit to Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. Having delivered his instructions, Ye Hua collapsed into unconsciousness. Back at the Western Sea, Bai Qian finally awoke after several days of deep sleep.
Zhe Yan, who had patiently waited for her for two days in the main hall, presented her with the medicinal pill. Bai Qian was deeply moved, believing Zhe Yan had used his own cultivation to refine it. She asked if he had been injured while obtaining the Mystical Mushroom, recalling her own father's struggles in a similar endeavor.
Adhering to Ye Hua's request, Zhe Yan sidestepped the question, instead stating that he was simply repaying Father God for raising him and was willing to help in any way he could. Bai Qian, grateful, bowed to him. Zhe Yan, feeling a pang of guilt, instructed her to give the pill to Die Yong once he felt a bit stronger, and to closely watch over him for a few days.
He then quickly departed, heading straight to Green Hill's Fox Den to find Mi Gu, whom he instructed to travel to the Winged Realm. Die Yong, upon taking the potent medicinal pill, immediately fainted, his weakened body unable to withstand its powerful effects. Bai Qian, observing this, grew fearful. She confessed her anxieties to Die Feng, expressing her worry that all her efforts might be in vain and her teacher would never truly awaken.
Die Feng comforted her, reminding her of the 70,000 years he had spent tirelessly searching for both her and Mo Yuan, considering her presence in the Western Sea a great blessing. He urged her to find strength, assuring her that they would eventually witness their teacher's return to Kunlun Void. In the Winged Realm, Yan Zhi brought Xuan Nü's child back. Li Jing, seeing the child, was overcome with sorrow as past memories resurfaced.
Yan Zhi explained to him that her cultivation as a princess was of little use, while Li Jing, as the Winged Monarch, had a duty to protect his people. She declared her intention to combine her cultivation with the Mystical Mushroom (which Ye Hua had given her) to try and revive the child. Li Jing expressed concern about the repercussions of defying Heaven's will by transferring cultivation.
Yan Zhi, however, was resolute, stating that as the child was his nephew, she couldn't simply give up without trying. Following Zhe Yan's instructions, Mi Gu arrived at the Winged Realm and met with Li Jing. Mi Gu relayed Zhe Yan's message: since Monarch Ye Hua had saved Li Jing in Yingzhou, Li Jing owed a debt that required repayment. Mi Gu then carried a Jade Soul, obtained from Li Jing, to Bai Qian in the Western Sea.
He informed Bai Qian that Zhe Yan wanted her to know that she needn't worry about owing a favor, as the Jade Soul was not a gift to her, but a repayment for Ye Hua's act of saving Li Jing. Since Bai Qian was Ye Hua's future wife, this debt was naturally settled with Green Hill. Bai Qian was puzzled, unsure when Ye Hua could have saved Li Jing, but Mi Gu only knew what Zhe Yan had told him.
Finally, Mi Gu conveyed the most critical instruction: the medicinal pill given to Die Yong was too potent for him to withstand alone. To ensure Die Yong could take it without adverse reactions and awaken in three days, Bai Qian must place the Jade Soul on his body. Eager to save Mo Yuan, Bai Qian quickly followed the instructions, resolving to question Zhe Yan about Ye Hua's actions at a later time.
