Mother Consort Le Xu cared for Ah Li in the Purple Morning Palace. She expressed her unease to Ye Hua, having heard from Su Jin that High Goddess Bai Qian bore an uncanny resemblance to the mortal, Su Su. She worried if Ye Hua was regarding Bai Qian as that mortal. Ye Hua firmly reassured his mother consort that Bai Qian was his wife, granted by the Heavenly Monarch, and he had never regarded her as anyone else.
Hearing this, Mother Consort Le Xu was relieved. Later, Bai Qian arrived at the Purple Morning Palace, intending to see Ah Li, but was informed that Mother Consort Le Xu was inside. Deciding her timing was not ideal, she opted to leave and return later. As she departed, she saw Mother Consort Le Xu and Su Jin walking out together, laughing and appearing like a harmonious mother-in-law and daughter-in-law pair.
Observing this, Bai Qian felt it was best not to reveal herself. At the Western Sea, Zhe Yan was treating the eldest prince. Bai Zhen arrived to find Zhe Yan there, noting that Zhe Yan had been watching over the prince since the previous night and had never seemed so frantic. Bai Zhen confided in Die Feng, the second prince, that he felt something was amiss with his older brother's illness.
Inside, Zhe Yan informed the Western Sea Monarch and Die Feng that he had discovered a way to save the eldest prince. He announced that he would leave for a few hours and return with an envoy to nurse the prince back to health, for which the Monarch and Die Feng expressed profound gratitude. Once they had all stepped aside, Bai Zhen noted Zhe Yan's serious demeanor and sensed an urgent matter.
Zhe Yan then revealed the astonishing truth: the legitimate son of Father God, the God of War Mo Yuan, was being nurtured by a mere wisp of the eldest prince's divine aura, due to his own extreme weakness. Bai Zhen was utterly shocked.
Zhe Yan, reflecting internally, thought of how Kunlun Void had been deserted for 70,000 years, how Mo Yuan's sixteen disciples had scattered in search of him, and how his seventeenth disciple had fed him her heart's blood every night for 70,000 years to preserve his body. He concluded that Mo Yuan was truly returning.
At that very moment, Mo Yuan's war sword at Kunlun Void burst forth from its box, shining with a brilliant golden light, as if called to action. In the Heavenly Palace, Ye Hua was in quiet meditation. Suddenly, an agonizing pain seized his chest, a sensation akin to his soul being torn apart and then reassembling. The reason for this inexplicable torment would remain unknown to Ye Hua for many years to come.
Bai Qian returned to the Courtyard of Moonlight and fell asleep on her bed. She dreamed of the great battle 70,000 years ago against the Winged Tribe. As Si Yin, she watched her Ninth Senior Brother fall before her eyes, and her beloved master Mo Yuan, after uttering the words, "Wait for me," sealed the Dong Huang Bell with his primordial spirit.
Waking with a faint ache in her heart, Bai Qian mused that it had been a long time since she had dreamed of that battle and wondered what was happening to her. After ensuring the eldest prince was settled, Zhe Yan declared his intention to retrieve Bai Qian from the Heavenly Palace. Bai Zhen intervened, expressing his concern about Ye Hua's reaction.
He pointed out that with the existing marriage contract between Ye Hua and Bai Qian, even if Mo Yuan was her teacher, Ye Hua, as the Crown Prince of the Heavenly Tribe, might overthink things if he knew his fiancée was expending such effort for another man. Zhe Yan conceded the reasoning and decided it was necessary to speak with Ye Hua before informing Bai Qian.
Zhe Yan sought out Ye Hua in the Heavenly Palace and directly informed him that Mo Yuan was about to awaken. Though shocked, Ye Hua maintained his usual composed demeanor. Zhe Yan, sensing Ye Hua's reserved nature, asked if he had any questions. Ye Hua replied that he did not.
Zhe Yan recalled the emotional memory of taking Bai Qian to Kunlun Void for the first time, recounting how Bai Qian had openly remarked that her teacher resembled a "fair-skinned young man from opera stories." Zhe Yan then asked Ye Hua if he had ever suspected he might be Mo Yuan, to which Ye Hua replied, "Never."
Zhe Yan smiled faintly, admitting he himself had once made such a mistake, even having vague thoughts about it as recently as the previous night after seeing Ye Hua's primordial spirit. As Zhe Yan was about to leave to find Bai Qian, Ye Hua stopped him, asking if there was a way to wake High God Mo Yuan earlier.
Ye Hua explained that this was Bai Qian's wish of 70,000 years, stating, "The earlier he wakes up, the lesser Qian Qian would need to wait." Zhe Yan then revealed that there was a way, but it required the Heavenly Tribe's sacred artifact, the Soul-Gathering Lamp. Meanwhile, Bai Qian, still feeling indignant over Ye Hua's unfair accusations, decided against visiting Ah Li, opting instead to go to High Clear Plane.
Just as she was about to leave, Su Jin gracefully entered, repeatedly addressing her as "Older Sister." Bai Qian, already disliking Su Jin, found the repeated "Older Sister" increasingly annoying and retorted, "Since you are so anxious to pay your respect to me, why didn't you do it at our first meeting yesterday and instead are doing it now?"
Su Jin's smile faltered before she explained that the Heavenly Palace had many rules and she hadn't recognized Bai Qian the day before. She then offered a belated apology. Bai Qian, finding Su Jin's words impeccably crafted, coolly instructed her to "Follow the rules and bow to me then." Su Jin seemed momentarily stunned, then claimed she had already paid her respects. Bai Qian found this laughable, noting that Su Jin's entrance bow was far too perfunctory.
Just then, Bai Qian vaguely saw Zhe Yan appear at her door. Before she could react, Su Jin dramatically fell to her knees at Bai Qian's feet. Bai Qian, bewildered, asked what she was doing. Su Jin, feigning tearful gratitude, explained that this bow was for a benefactor.
She thanked Bai Qian for caring for Ah Li, who had lost his mother young, and then launched into a sorrowful tale: Ye Hua loved Ah Li's mother deeply, jumping with her from the Immortal Execution Platform and lying unconscious for over sixty years. She added that the peach blossoms in the Courtyard of Moonlight were all planted by Ye Hua in memory of Ah Li's mother.
Su Jin concluded by saying her bow was in hope that Bai Qian's marriage with Ye Hua would happen soon, to "console His Mighty Monarch's heart that is already half-dead." Bai Qian, having watched many such plays in the mortal realm, saw through Su Jin's clever insinuation that Ye Hua only favored her because of her resemblance to Ah Li's mother, and remained unfazed.
She told Su Jin that not everyone desired what she sought, and that "as an immortal, it's best not to be too smart." She then firmly advised Su Jin that she, Bai Qian, was accustomed to receiving homage according to Green Hill's elaborate ritual. Therefore, if Su Jin wished to pay respects again, she should follow Green Hill's rules.
Furthermore, Bai Qian declared that her mother had never given her a younger sister, so Su Jin should cease calling her "Older Sister" and instead address her by proper etiquette as "High Goddess." After this exchange, Bai Qian felt a great sense of relief and observed Su Jin, whose hands were now tightly clenched into fists on the ground in profound humiliation.
After Su Jin left, Bai Qian reflected that Su Jin must have been involved in Ah Li's mother's leap from the Immortal Execution Platform. Nai Nai, witnessing Su Jin's departure, furiously confirmed Bai Qian's suspicions, revealing that "her mistress" had been tricked into losing her eyes by Su Jin and forced to jump, scattering her soul. Bai Qian wondered why Ye Hua hadn't simply struck Su Jin down with his sword.
Nai Nai calmly explained that he had, once, but the Heavenly Monarch had intervened to save her. She added that Ye Hua now only regarded Su Jin as a mere "jar that carries my mistress' eyes." Bai Qian sighed, realizing the depth of Ye Hua's loyalty and devotion. Zhe Yan, who had been eavesdropping on the entire exchange, returned just as Bai Qian was about to leave. He playfully remarked that his eavesdropping had been quite rewarding.
Seeing Zhe Yan's serious expression, Bai Qian's heart stirred, recalling how 300 years ago, he had given her a similar look and told her that her master might return, only for her to wait fruitlessly. Zhe Yan, understanding her sorrow, solemnly assured her that this time, her long-held wish of 70,000 years was truly coming true: Mo Yuan was indeed returning.
He explained that he had found Mo Yuan's soul in the Western Sea's eldest prince; though Mo Yuan had sealed the Dong Huang Bell with his primordial spirit, as Father God's direct son, he alone possessed the ability to piece together shattered spiritual powers, just as he had promised when he said, "wait for me." Zhe Yan revealed that he had pursued Mo Yuan's soul for millennia, finally discovering it in the eldest prince, albeit incredibly weak.
Bai Qian wept tears of joy and relief, having feared her hopes would again be in vain. Unseen, Ye Hua arrived outside the Courtyard of Moonlight and, upon witnessing Bai Qian's emotional state, felt a pang of sadness. Bai Qian, knowing she couldn't remain in the Nine Heavens after such news, yet wanting to avoid appearing petty after her quarrel with Ye Hua, left him a letter before departing with Zhe Yan for the Western Sea.
Ye Hua read Bai Qian's letter, feeling a deep sadness at her departure and silently wondering if Qian Qian was truly leaving him. Lian Song then approached, seeking his help with Princess Zhi Yue, Ye Hua's cousin, who was creating a commotion, demanding to descend to the mortal realm to experience tribulations alongside Emperor Dong Hua. Lian Song expected Ye Hua to dissuade her, but Ye Hua merely asked Zhi Yue if she absolutely must see the Emperor.
When Zhi Yue affirmed her resolve, Ye Hua pronounced her punishment: twenty years of mortal tribulation. Lian Song was surprised, but Ye Hua explained that for those so determined to achieve what seems impossible, he fulfills their wishes. In the mortal realm, Feng Jiu, as Virtuous Consort Chen, pondered how to advance Emperor Dong Hua's love tribulation. One day, Prince Yuan Zhen approached her, looking distressed. He confided that he missed his teacher (Bai Qian's mortal identity) greatly.
Feng Jiu was touched by Yuan Zhen's loyalty to her aunt. Yuan Zhen then showed Feng Jiu the Cloud-Breaking Fan that his teacher had given him. Unexpectedly, the magical fan suddenly activated and grew in size. In an effort to protect Yuan Zhen, Feng Jiu accidentally tripped over a stool, causing both of them to fall.
The Empress, passing by, witnessed the scene and immediately accused Feng Jiu and Yuan Zhen of engaging in a private affair, ordering their imprisonment in the Sky Prison. The Emperor, however, vehemently rebuked the Empress, declaring his unwavering belief in Feng Jiu's innocence and reminding her of Feng Jiu's act of blocking an arrow for him, which proved her profound love. He then proceeded to the Sky Prison to retrieve Feng Jiu.
Inside, Feng Jiu lamented to Si Ming that despite her aunt's efforts, she couldn't escape fate. Si Ming advised Feng Jiu to disregard Yuan Zhen for now, viewing the situation as an opportunity for Emperor Dong Hua's love tribulation. He instructed her to confess to the adultery when the Emperor arrived. Just then, the Emperor arrived to take Feng Jiu back to the palace.
