> Resúmenes de A LOVER IN THE MORTAL WORLD
Following the suspicious meeting witnessed by Fei Zheng, the Eldest Princess, Liu Xie, took the initiative by hosting a banquet for Emperor Liu Chu. Liu Chu arrived late, accompanied by Xiao Chi, explaining that he had been occupied with the extensive treasury ledgers provided by his sister. During the meal, Liu Chu offered a solemn toast to their late father. Sensing the underlying tension, Liu Xie mockingly asked if he feared the wine was poisoned.
To maintain a facade of sibling unity, they shared from the same bottle, though the atmosphere remained heavy with hostility. Away from the banquet, Jiang Wanyu was plagued by an ominous premonition. Back at the table, the pretense finally shattered. Liu Xie lashed out, accusing Liu Chu of incompetence, murdering ministers, and allowing a toxic plague to ravage the people while he emptied the treasury for his marriage ceremony.
She demanded his abdication, proposing that she would rule and raise Jiang Wanyu’s unborn child to take the throne. When Liu Chu refused, Liu Xie signaled her hidden assassins. Black-clad guards swarmed the room, and Xiao Chi stepped forward to protect the Emperor. The situation was dire until Fei Zheng arrived, demonstrating lethal swordsmanship. Together, the three brothers suppressed the rebellion and took Liu Xie into custody.
Following the failed coup, Liu Chu stripped his sister of her titles and confined her to the Princess’s Mansion, decreeing that she was never to leave until her death. Meanwhile, Xiao Chi was deeply troubled by the battle. He realized that Fei Zheng had been hiding his true strength and that his swordplay was a distinct style from Changmo. Seeking solace, Xiao Chi drank with Han Yunling and reminisced about the days when the three brothers had no secrets.
Disturbed by the complexity of palace politics, he decided to return to Tianlang Pass to guard the border and asked Han Yunling to accompany him, gifting her a pouch as a symbol of his promise. In the shadows, the Hall Master of Caidie Hall prepared to return to Changmo, her current mission complete. Before leaving, she provided Jin Xi with a temporary supply of antidote for her poison but reminded her that she remained a mere tool for their cause.
The next morning, Jiang Wanyu woke from a nightmare to find that Jin Xi had successfully returned to the palace. While Jiang Wanyu felt a sense of gratitude toward Liu Xie for her past kindness, Jin Xi warned her to stay away. She pointed out that a woman willing to murder her own brother would never be sincere toward a sister-in-law, and that the internal strife of the Liu family was not something the Princess of Changmo should interfere with.
In Changmo, the Hall Master reported her progress to the King. She confirmed that two of the three chief ministers were dead, the third was poisoned, and Liu Xie had been neutralized. With Fei Zheng still undercover and controlled by poison, the plan to dismantle Jinglan moved forward. The King, despite his own weakening health, remained focused on his goal of capturing Liu Chu and spreading a new, more potent poison throughout the empire.
Liu Chu eventually paid a final visit to his sister. He admitted he had always been jealous of her, as their father had raised her with the arts of a ruler, mastering everything from strategy to the manipulation of men. He confessed that if she had been born a man, he would have had no chance at the throne.
However, he could not allow her to live with such ambition and presented her with a cup of poisoned wine, promising to bury her with imperial honors as if she had died of a sudden illness. Liu Xie accepted her fate, drinking the wine and expressing hope that he would prove himself a capable ruler. The palace soon announced that the Eldest Princess had passed away due to a severe illness.
Following her grand burial, Fei Zheng met Jin Xi in a quiet bamboo forest. He spoke of his childhood and how the three brothers used to cause trouble and fight for justice on the streets, remembering the rare warmth he felt when Liu Chu and Xiao Chi cried for him after he took a beating on their behalf. Unbeknownst to them, Huo Ran was watching from the shadows.
Later, Liu Chu visited Jiang Wanyu at the Ling Pavilion, strictly ordering her to stay inside for her safety while he prepared a secret plan. That night, he summoned Xiao Chi and Fei Zheng for a drinking session. When a late-arriving Fei Zheng offered to drink three pots of wine as a penalty, the three brothers toasted to each other, though the weight of their secrets hung heavy over the table.
