Just as Tong Xiaole and Yi Lan arrived, Tong Xiaole quickly pushed Yi Lan out the door, shielding her from the scene. Afterwards, Shan Liwei confronted Ye Mei, asking why she had left without a word. Ye Mei seemed upset, asserting that he had always known the reason, and they parted ways on bad terms.
Outside, Yi Lan, startled by Tong Xiaole's sudden action, pressed him to reveal what he had seen. She ate a candy to calm her own nerves, then offered one to Tong Xiaole, who dramatically stated he was afraid his revelation might give her a heart attack. Meanwhile, Yi Lan, still on the street, spotted Ye Mei walking by and hurried to greet her.
She mentioned that she worked part-time at the musical instrument store and could assist if Ye Mei ever needed anything. She then suggested he pursue the girl he had liked since high school, proposing that if they both found partners, the four of them could hang out together. As a gesture, she gave him a new card wallet, noticing his old one was worn out.
Back in the dorm, Tong Xiaole was lost in thought, reflecting on how he had messed up earlier with Yi Lan and scared her. Chen Chen tried to cheer him up and initially advised him to pretend to flirt with another girl to make Yi Lan jealous, assuring him it would work.
