Fu Yang appeared distressed and anxious. Friday noticed his state and offered assistance. Fu Yang then tested Friday, asking how she would react if her master behaved improperly towards her. Friday, however, affirmed her unwavering loyalty, stating she would serve her master wholeheartedly regardless of his actions. Observing Fu Yang's unusual anxiety, Pai Song remarked that he, usually so decisive, seemed tense.

Fu Yang explained that their goal in creating Friday as a woman was to amplify her understanding, tolerance, and patience, envisioning her as a dream robot with dignity and a moral bottom line. He worried that Lu Sen's actions, despite his high IQ, had reduced Friday to a superficial and simple image, which would make the world doubt her true potential.

Fu Yang questioned if his current decisions were helping or hindering Friday, a question Pai Song admitted no one could answer, but assured him of the team’s trust. Later, Lu Sen called Fu Yang, demanding to know why Friday had not reported for work and if she needed recharging.

Fu Yang seized the opportunity to officially terminate their contract, declaring that Friday would no longer be available for tests and he would seek a new investor to leave as soon as possible. He also promised to pay the 300 million yuan in liquidated damages, severing all ties. Lu Sen dismissed this, asserting that no one would dare invest in Fu Yang after he offended IMU.

Fu Yang then confronted Lu Sen, accusing him of being a pervert and recalling the incident at the amusement park the previous day. Lu Sen tried to explain it as a misunderstanding, an act he “could not help himself” doing, but Fu Yang was unwavering in his disappointment and formally ended their contract, stating that Team Alpha would depart soon.

Immediately, Lu Sen called Mr. Si, instructing him to investigate which company intended to purchase Alpha’s robot and to prevent any such deal. He demanded to know what the scientists wanted, making it clear that Friday must not leave him. He also asked Mr. Si to investigate Fu Yang’s past activities in the UK. Meanwhile, Yang Shanshan, without her glasses and earphones, was being escorted by the butler.

She internally reminded herself that she was merely a robot, not to overthink. Pai Song, who saw Yang Shanshan heading to Lu Sen’s without her usual devices, expressed concern to Wang Dayun that Yang Shanshan might be exposed. Wang Dayun suggested informing Fu Yang, but Pai Song dissuaded him, noting Fu Yang already had enough worries and trusted Yang Shanshan to handle the situation.

Lu Sen was delighted to see Friday, who had appeared despite Fu Yang’s attempts to keep her away. He praised her for coming when summoned, but playfully criticized her for being a robot without a heart. He declared that from that day forward, he would help her learn and metaphorically "take root and grow" in her heart, which served as her hardware device. Friday pointed out that such deep interaction would consume a lot of power.

She offered to remain in power-saving mode for eight hours if she didn’t have to work. Lu Sen, touched, accepted, stating he would do the work and told her to sit to conserve energy. He confided in Friday that someone had asked about their relationship, and he had described her as an “ingrate” who followed others, yet she was also his first friend in over a decade. He vowed to keep her by his side forever.

Concurrently, Fu Yang met with Mr. Peng, a potential investor introduced by Professor Hu, his former mentor. Mr. Peng was impressed by Friday’s video but expressed reservations due to Fu Yang’s past reputation and the hefty 300 million yuan liquidated damages owed to Lu Sen. He offered only 150 million yuan, believing no other company would pay such a high price for a robot. Mr. Peng identified Lu Sen as a “financial robber” notorious for high compensation clauses.

Fu Yang reiterated Friday's immense value, which he believed would yield profits far exceeding 300 million yuan, and requested Mr. Peng to keep their meeting confidential. Later, Mr. Si tried to persuade Fu Yang's team (Wang Dayun, Pai Song, and Richard) with bonuses and an additional 20 million yuan in development funds, presenting a contract for immediate payment. The team, however, stood united, stating they needed to consult Fu Yang.

They ultimately rejected the offer, informing Mr. Si that no amount of money would change their teacher’s decision, and demanded Lu Sen return Friday immediately. Meanwhile, Mr. Peng reported his meeting with Fu Yang to Li Jingcheng and his son. Li Jingcheng's son confirmed Lu Sen's involvement in a humanoid robot project and was amazed by the video, though he questioned its authenticity. Li Jingcheng remarked on his nephew’s tendency to stir trouble, similar to his father.

He instructed them to continue their investigation into Lu Sen discreetly, fearing he might be deceived and IMU would suffer losses. Back at Lu Sen's residence, he introduced Friday to Dr. Ou, emphasizing her role in his miraculous recovery from his illness. Dr. Ou observed Friday intently, noting her uncanny resemblance to a human and commenting that Lu Sen and Friday looked like a couple seeking relationship counseling.

Lu Sen quickly dismissed this, reiterating that Friday was a robot, merely data and wires, though he valued her human-like qualities for companionship. Dr. Ou, intrigued by Friday’s pivotal role in Lu Sen’s improvement, requested to receive data about their interactions for his research. Soon after, Mr. Si called Lu Sen to report that Team Alpha had refused his offer and was demanding Friday's return. Lu Sen was furious, threatening legal action against them.

Friday, overhearing, suggested there might be a misunderstanding. Lu Sen, however, was adamant that he would never let Friday leave him. Dr. Ou then departed, commenting on Lu Sen's busyness. Friday continued to counsel Lu Sen, urging him to understand the full truth before resorting to lawsuits. Lu Sen initially favored legal means, but Friday eventually convinced him with her sincere plea, playfully hinting at the consequence of losing his "little cutie."

Lu Sen reluctantly agreed to try a more conciliatory approach. To smooth things over, Friday arranged a dinner, instructing Lu Sen to use his mother’s old tableware to convey sincerity. Lu Sen remarked to Friday that he was doing things he had never done before, all for her.

Friday meticulously planned the menu, detailing each team member's culinary preferences: Fu Yang, a Jiangzhe native, preferred light dishes; Pai Song liked desserts; Wang Dayun, from Sichuan, enjoyed spicy food; and Richard, a 1. 5-generation immigrant, favored Chinese cuisine. Despite finding it troublesome, Lu Sen agreed. Friday also insisted that Lu Sen personally invite the team members instead of merely calling them, explaining that humans appreciate being invited and dislike being ordered around.

The dinner at Lu Sen’s was an awkward affair. Upon their arrival, Wang Dayun and Richard were seen arguing over instant noodles. Lu Sen tried to invite them, but they claimed not to be hungry. Once they were seated, Lu Sen attempted to make conversation, introducing his dishes, including Sichuan Boiled Fish, as his "hometown cuisine." He tried to personalize the experience by addressing Wang Dayun as "Researcher No. 1," mentioning his love for spicy food.

Similarly, he addressed Richard as "Researcher No. 2," noting his fondness for Chinese food, and Pai Song as "Researcher No. 3," presenting her with an orange cake he had made. The team members were visibly uncomfortable, pointing out that he didn't even know their names. Their appetites waned, and they soon expressed a desire to leave. Friday quickly pulled Lu Sen aside, chastising him for his poor social skills and constant "cold atmosphere."

She coached him on smiling and using polite, softer language. Returning to the table, Lu Sen tried again, asking if the food was to their taste and recounting Richard's story about being a "1. 5-generation immigrant." However, he quickly ruined the improved mood by questioning the profitability of Richard's parents' laundry business. The team silently labeled him a "cold atmosphere killer." Despite finishing the meal, the team members were determined to leave.

Friday desperately tried to persuade them to stay, reminding them of the courtesy owed when accepting hospitality. Friday defended Lu Sen, explaining his genuine nature and loneliness since his parents' death, stating he was as innocent as they were and hoped they could become friends. Wang Dayun and Richard still insisted on leaving. As they prepared to depart, Pai Song acknowledged Friday's heartfelt plea, though she noted Friday’s behavior was "not like a robot at all."

Pai Song regretfully explained that it was too late, as Fu Yang had already gone to meet new investors. Friday implored them to at least say "Thank you, we’re full" to Lu Sen, hoping to make him feel happy about his efforts.

Pai Song declined, reasoning that it wouldn't change the outcome, and if they were never to meet again, a slightly bad ending might be better, though she assured Friday that they would be grateful to Lu Sen in their hearts. As the team left, Fu Yang was seen drinking heavily, visibly upset by the unsuccessful meeting with his new investor. Kang'er'er found him and offered to drive him home.

Meanwhile, Friday returned to Lu Sen, who was contemplating what else he could possibly do to make the team stay. Friday comforted him, assuring him that he had already done very well and they would find other solutions.
