Lu Sen wore a suit chosen by Friday to meet Kang Li'er. Kang Li'er remarked that the suit looked good and asked if Friday had picked it, noting Friday's good taste. She reminded Lu Sen of the importance of cherishing those who gave umbrellas in the rain. She then recalled a childhood memory of going to sea with Lu Sen and Li Zhan, a day when it also rained heavily.

She recounted how she once hid Li Zhan's sea fishing rod, and he cried when he couldn't find it because it was a birthday present from Lu Sen that he didn't want to lose. Kang Li'er asked Lu Sen what had happened between him and Li Zhan, feeling that Li Zhan was still the same but Lu Sen had changed. Lu Sen dismissed the past, telling her to simply think of him as an indifferent person.

As Kang Li'er left, she thanked Friday for the crayfish. After she departed, Lu Sen praised Yang Shanshan's acting, saying she was so convincing that even Kang Li'er couldn't tell she was a robot. After leaving Lu Sen, Kang Li'er drove to Fu Yang's laboratory, surprising his team. The team had been discussing her, with one member commenting on her good skin, which Kang Li'er, already inside, attributed to her twenty-step daily skincare routine.

Kang Li'er then revealed that she knew their secret about using Yang Shanshan to impersonate the robot Friday. One of Fu Yang's team members immediately despaired, suggesting they'd have to sell their kidneys to pay compensation. Kang Li'er took this as an admission, stating they were deceiving her friend with a real person. However, she clarified that she had not told Lu Sen and was there to ensure her friend had purchased an outstanding high-tech product.

She warned of the consequences if Lu Sen discovered the secret. Fu Yang then showed her the actual Friday robot, explaining that they had no choice but to use Yang Shanshan as a stand-in because Friday was immobile due to problems below its head. Kang Li'er expressed that she believed Lu Sen signed the contract because he saw Friday as a robot that would bring a new future to IMU, and she shared that hope.

She agreed to keep their secret but stated that she would frequently visit the lab to supervise their work on behalf of Lu Sen and IMU, threatening to expose them if her conditions were not met. Secretly, Kang Li'er also used these visits as an excuse to spend more time with Fu Yang. After Kang Li'er left, the team worried if she could be trusted, with one member suggesting that "humanity is the most uncontrollable aspect."

Fu Yang decided he needed more time to think about how to manage the situation. Years ago, it was Fu Yang who had given Kang Li'er his umbrella during a heavy rain, leaving a deep impression on her, though he didn't realize it. Lu Sen spent time with Yang Shanshan, who was still posing as Friday. As they listened to music, Yang Shanshan fell asleep. Lu Sen looked at her with an affectionate gaze.

Meanwhile, Fu Yang's team, with Yan Shen, discussed Lu Sen's apparent growing feelings for Yang Shanshan. While Fu Yang initially thought it impossible for an AI expert to develop feelings for a robot, another team member argued that emotional boundaries become blurred the more human-like a robot is, especially since Lu Sen was interacting with a real person. Later that night, Lu Sen was alone and restless, unable to focus on anything.

He realized he missed Friday and wished she could always be by his side. Li Zhan, still intent on tracking Lu Sen, instructed his two men to continue their surveillance. They proudly presented photos, claiming to have a complete itinerary. However, the photos were either blurry, showed no sign of Lu Sen, or featured an elderly housekeeper, whom Li Zhan angrily referred to as a "grocery-shopping auntie" or "housekeeper," when he expected photos of his assistant.

Enraged, Li Zhan threw the photos at them, reprimanding them for wasting his money and threatening to cut off their living expenses and "make them into photos" if they failed to bring back useful information next time. The next morning, Yang Shanshan, confident in Lu Sen's trust, prepared a rainbow umbrella, hoping to persuade him to restart the Youth Creativity Competition.

She informed Lu Sen about the weather and that she had prepared an umbrella for him, which pleased him as he noted she remembered his words. He offered her a gift in return. Yang Shanshan seized the opportunity, asking if he would restart the Creativity Competition. Initially, she fantasized about winning the championship and securing funding for IMU's future, expecting Lu Sen's worship. In reality, when Lu Sen asked "Why?"

, she explained that a participant named Pai was very upset after the competition was canceled. Lu Sen, however, was annoyed that she was thinking of others instead of him, her master. He suggested she ask for a better battery instead, so she could spend more time with him. He then told her to find things to do, remarking that she was the most idle robot in the family.

Later, Fu Yang's team received a box, which they initially feared was a bomb or revenge from Housekeeper Xie because of Yang Shanshan. Upon opening it, they discovered it was a large box of crayfish, a reward from Lu Sen's household for Dayun's and another team member's previous work. In their excitement, Dayun accidentally spilled all the crayfish on the floor. Just then, Secretary Si, Lu Sen's assistant, arrived to finalize the contract, having previously contacted them by phone.

Seeing the scattered crayfish, Secretary Si cautiously navigated around them, assuming they were the scientists' pets. Despite the chaotic scene, Fu Yang remained calm and reviewed the contract. The contract was officially signed, with the final payment to be transferred within ten business days. Secretary Si reminded them that the project remained in an observation period until all payments were settled, and IMU reserved the right to sue for compensation if any terms were breached.

Yang Shanshan then orchestrated a public plea. She lured Lu Sen to a park under the pretense of visiting a popular seaside garden, using Friday's navigation system for a route that had "many beautiful sights." Lu Sen, though finding the route unusual, indulged her. As they arrived, they were met by a crowd of young designers protesting and demanding the restart of the Creativity Competition.

Lu Sen dismissed them as "cannon fodder," explaining that his people had discovered company insiders colluding with contestants to swindle funds, rendering the competition unfair despite a mole being caught. Yang Shanshan countered, highlighting the competition's 20-year history and its significance for many young designers, hoping he would reconsider. Lu Sen retorted that everything has a lifespan, including competitions, and maintaining an unfair one was pointless. Yang Shanshan desperately argued that these aspiring designers longed for a mentor like him.

She tried to use Pai's dream to persuade him, but Lu Sen became impatient, asking, "Is Pai your master or am I your master?" At that moment, the protestors surrounded their car, demanding, "Restart the competition!" This caused Yang Shanshan to panic.
